It wasnt the coffee I was concerned about but the daily aleve. I cut out all aleve, etc and adjusting with the joint point since tylenol doesnt really help. Hopefully as I loose wait and can exercise more tge joint pain will decrease or lol disappear.

One thing my NUT talked yo me about was the amount of calaries that would need to be adjusted to loss or maintain. As you decrease your weight it takes fewer and fewer calaries to do everyday stuff like walking, dressing and that is when to visit your exercise plan and keep careful tract of your intake. You have done amazing.

Thank you Truckerchic, it is a good reminder that after surgery it is important to use all the tools and making wise choices and that everyone can find away to eat around the surgery and we each need to come to terms with that.

If you need to say anything tell them what happened surgery did not go as expected and will need another surgery in 3 months. Hang in there I am sure you are very disappointed.

You are an inspiration. I too was wondering if I might be too old for this surgery, sixty. I was kinda surprized when my endocrinologist suggested it, I was taking six injections of insulin and on 160 units as a starting dose each day and still couldnt keep my glucose levels under 200. So when I heard I wasnt too old I was both happy and skeptical. After hearing your journey and others on this site my skepticism is gone.
Slow cooking peppers, sausage, and meatballs all night!!!!!! That is grounds for temporary insanity you would never be found guilty of course you may need a jury of all wls peers. But seriously you got through it without even a taste great job!!!!!

My understsnding is that the rny cuts out the hormone the same as the sleeve. But I believe the added benefit to the RNY is because there is a difference between head hunger and stomach hunger there is additional consequences to making the wrong choices. I had totally decided on the sleeve until I read all the posts of sleevers to bypassers and when I did talk to my surgeon he recommended the bypass because of my type2 diabetes. It is a very hard and personal decision. Good luck and remember no matter which one you choose you have given yourself a gift.

I am scheduled for a bypass on 10/7 my daughter, 30 wanted to know if I was going shopping before or after surgery. I told her I wasnt sure what she meant and she went on to ask if I knew what size they were making me? Making me! Lol obviously she had the wrong idea about the surgery.

I received my approval on monday as well for my october 7th surgery I was so overwhelmed to think that everything is coming together and after all the obstacles and delays it is really going to happen. Yea for us all!!!!!!

Final approval for my Oct 7th RNY received today! I was so nervous that I would be rejected because I had to go onto COBRA after loosing my job of 16 years in August. Things are coming together and I cant wait to join all of you on the loosers bench.
