I totally understand. Loose skin well be a big problem for me when I get to my goal because I have ben overweight so long, and I'm 42 tests old. I have sign people with sagging extra skin and if you didnt know, one might think they just have more to lose. Have you considered a Tummy Tuck or some such treatment for the excess skin and stubborn fast stores? I know one I hit goal I wont look like a 20 year old hot body hottie... But I hope I can accept the changes and the reality.
and one thing... Do you strength train? They day it herod with loose skin, plus it can add pounds on (to make your doc happy) while tuning (to make you happy).

I know you asked for answers from people who've already lost the weight... I have not had surgery yet.
I have, however, been weight almost my whole life. I first noticed I was overweight at 12.
There are often support groups WLS in larger areas, but I get the impression that you are leading toward anorexia. At 134 you are not fat. You know it, in your head, but now you need to learn it in your heart. Please seek help, either through group or individual therapy. Losing weight comes with a lot of issues, I am encountering some of them myself.
It's good you can recognize that you are having issues, and I hope you can get what you need.
    Be healthy, live happy.

I always assumed it would work. The statistics show it works. Then I had the surgery 5 days ago and realized... it's only a tool and if I don't find a way to use it, I'm not going to lose anything, and certainly not everything I want to lose. Not to mention keep it off.

Writerjennifer got a reaction from tshine01 in Where do you find comfort?
I have been exploring this very idea. I would suggest writing down what you are feeling, write down what you want to eat, and try to explain why. Then ask yourself the various questions. What is the goal? Will eating what you crave accomplish the goal? If not, what will? Picture in your mind the goal, picture in your mind yourself pushing the bad food away because it won't help with the goal. Imagine feeling better, see yourself smiling, see yourself attaining your goal and let the pride and peace and respect and love and happiness fill you.
    Repeat as often as necessary.
I can't say for sure that it works. You need to tailor it to your own needs and feelings. But it helps me. I have yet to decide to eat the bad food after using this tool. But it's only good if you use it, and there are times I don't.
    Good luck.

There is a website with a lot of dresses, and they are very reasonably priced and can custom size them. They should have some long sleeved dresses.

This is an excellent topic, I too am at a stall and I am 6 weeks out, I am eating less than 900 calories and on most days 600, I am getting in 60 grams of Protein and I am hardly ever hungry , I am still struggling with my Water intake but I do get in at least 32 ounces of Water a day and all of my sugar are less than 5 grams.

I am pre-op... so you may take this for what it's worth. My nutritionist basically threatened to not recommend me for surgery because I kept saying I didn't want to give up foods like pizza, that I would just eat less of them. She insisted that is not how it works. Also, my surgeons office requires a "Steps Class" in which they gave us a list of behaviors that will ensure our failure, i.e. "things to avoid". Such as eating foods with more than 20% or more of Daily Value of Fat, more than 10 grams of sugar per serving, eating candy, drinking soda or alcohol, etc. If we want to succeed... we need to accept that these foods are no longer in our best interest. I can't say I have learned this yet. But I refuse to go through the surgery and weight loss only to gain it back by returning to old habits.
Just a suggestion, this is something I am finding out about myself... healthy food can taste good too. Fajita veggies are yummy, even without the tortilla. I never knew this. lol. And last little bit I learned in class... rank all the foods you eat on a scale of 1 to 10. then eliminate all the 1's and 2's and all the 9's and 10's. If you don't like it, don't eat it. Same goes if you like it too much.
Anyway... way more info than you wanted, I guess. Good luck!

Well, I am looking forward to all of those things as posted above, but right now, being the summer temps here are always 90 and higher, I am REALLY looking forward to getting rid of this enormous, hot, miserable, twisted, tight, size 46DDD BRA!!!!

I just had surgery Monday. My husband got the dirty look when, on the way home from the hospital yesterday he wanted to stop and have me buy him something from taco bell. I was like, no way am I spending my money on junk food when i can't even have a bite of anything at this point.
Then he wanted to order pizza for the kids for dinner. I said no to that to. He complained, we can't stop eating bad things just cause you can't. I explained to him that I just need a little time to adjust.
The worse thing is... he doesn't even want the food because he wants it. He only wants the fast food because he doesn't feel like cooking.
I am sure it's going to get worse before it gets better. But we can do this!

Did your doctor actually tell you to stay under 600 calories a day? A lot of people find that when they aren't getting enough calories their body goes into starvation mode and refuses to let go of even one pound. You might want to check with your nut or the doctors office.
