Awesome, congratulations. ...I am wondering why 2 years? I was band in 2005 and my paperwork for the revision was submitted to BCBSIL today and I am nervous about the outcome, really praying for an approval.

Don't feel down, are you familiar with the old saying...."things happen for a reason" just know that a couple more days is only to get you even more prepared for your new life ahead, congratulations on a new U!

Thanks. ..ready to get this show on (I like that) ???? .....I am coming to terms that I am a bit excited and just need to be patient, when you come on the board and read about all the fast approvals it gets you even more excited without realizing that everybody, every insurance, and every Dr is different and I am one like many others who just have to wait and learn and educate ourselves so that we are beyond ready when we do receive that surgery date ????

How long was your wait...I finished all my testing, had my my EGD last week and still haven't heard anything nor received my followup appointment with my Dr. Am I to anxious, I thought I would have heard from my Dr office by now, I don't even know if they submitted my paperwork for approval or not...this wait has me very nervous.

Not a 1 year waiting period, I am sorry if I wasn't clear, but you have to have coverage for a year before they approve, and that also depends on the employer as well, still worth looking into and good luck

Coverage for one year with BCBS, but was told with any group. They did send me the requirements via email

I have BCBSIL and was told the same, I had to have coverage for at least a year before being considered a candidate, and we'll one year later, I started the process again and my paperwork has been submitted waiting approval.

I completed all of my requirements since July 10....WHY am I finding out today that my Dr office is still sitting on my file waiting submission. I could not believe it when she told me my file was gonna be submitted one day this week for approval, she had no excuse as to why they haven't sent off my paperwork, she only said that it takes up to 30 days for approval, which they had already told me that. So I called BCBSIL just to check and well, no paperwork submitted....I am just fuming!!!!!

Thanks you guys???? yes it is frustrating and I have an appointment on Friday to unfill my band because its giving me the blues, waking up at 3 am because of fluids building up in my throat, acid reflux so bad, feels like my throat is on fire. Thanks for the encouragement

I don't have a surgery date yet but I feel the same way, I am ready I started making detox shakes to start getting my mind and body ready for my new journey. I am waiting on a letter of consent from my cardiologist that I hope to get done tomorrow because he was on vacation last week. Good luck and it's not to early to prepare ????

My Dr office called saying that my surgeon has some concerns with my Eco test I did back in June, so he recommends a cardiologist to send a letter of consent. So on Friday 7/18 I got in touch with my cardiologist hoping to have some kind of answer on Monday 7/21 only to find out that he is on vacation until Monday 7/28. Here I was worried about my EGD and getting a biopsy on 7/10, but now I am waiting clearance/consent. The only good news I received was, once they get the letter of consent, I will have a surgery date within 5 days. Is there anyone out there who ever needed a letter of consent, and if so, what was your experience?

BarbCB, Cupcake and You were right, I called my Dr. office, who of course had to call me back. After speaking with my surgeon's nurse, she told me that they are still waiting results from the EGD but my Dr had some concerns with the results of my eco/stress test that was done June 20, my only question was why now, they could have called me when they first had a concern so I could get in touch with my cardiologist. So I had to call my cardiologist office to make them aware that I need a letter of consent for the surgery. my surgeon's nurse told me that once they receive the letter, they should have a surgery date for me within 5 days after. So now I have keep a close eye on if they really fax my cardiologist and when the cardiologist office sends the letter. Praying it all go smoothly so I will not have to stay on the phone asking everyday because I WILL DO IT

Oh yes BarbBC I do check it daily, I will call them tomorrow to get some more information

Don't know why, but i am nervous, I know it will be over quickly...I guess I am anxious????, tomorrow is my last test before, insurance and scheduling surgery.

Before I went in for my EGD, like always they tell me if the Dr see it necessary he will do a biopsy during the EGD incase there is any issues before the surgery for the sleeve. Now I am bit concerned because this is my 3rd EGD (band 2005) (checkup 2012) and and when I woke up and got dressed the nurse told me that Dr Marvin had to do a biopsy and his office will call me for my followup appointment. Has anyone experienced this before, please tell me I am worried for nothing or he did he see something, erosion???
