  1. You will feel better. I'm 8 1/2 mths out. You will feel that way for a little while. I was drained and no energy for weeks. It's a huge adjustment for your body. But hang in there it does get better!! 120 lbs lost since surgery and 170 total... you too can do it!

  2. What a great new years resolution for you! Start now on getting rid of crap food... fried, breads, sugar, starches and it will be easier to stay away a couple months after surgery. That's the best advise I can give. Do it now so you know you can commit to the lifestyle change you eed to be successful after surgery. Who is your surgery with?

  3. Have your tracked your total calories and total Protein. As weird as it sounds you should eat more. Try to get to at least 1200. Our nut mentioned that if you have too few your body will go into starvation mode and a stall will happen. I am same as you 197.2, surgery weight was 218, before 230. I've slowed but so far still losing. Only 1 stall (not really) at 207 for 4 days.

    I range about 900-1100 calories with 60-90g protein. I eat 5-6 times a day. I don't use protein powder.< /p>

How do you get in that many calories? I can only get in about 600-700 a day. I was sleeved 6/17, and can only eat 2 or 3 times a day.

  4. I am at the point that I think this is where I am going to stay. I am past two weeks of stalled weight loss and still nothing! Weigh the same every single darn day! Maybe 198 is my set point at that is is for me. No matter how little or much I eat.... Still at 198! Low carb, good Protein, walk over 10,000 steps each day, drinking required water..... Etc etc etc. So depressed and frustrated. Only lost 28 lbs total so far and 6 of that was preop!

From what I have read it is normal to have a big stall once you hit onederland! Keep it up, you are doing what you are supposed to. I bet if you keep going the numbers will change. Try giving yourself a jump start, do a couple days with two Protein Drinks and one lean protein. You'll get there. The less you have to lose the slower it comes off, you're doing good! Keep going, don't give up!

  5. Curious what calorie intake others are having. I was sleeved 6/19 and am running in the 700 - 900 range.

I am losing weight but it is slowing down. It was pretty crazy there for awhile around a pound a day.

I'm getting in about 600-700 my Dr said between 600-800 in week 5/6 (sleeved 6/17). I would up your Water and reduce calories a little... how do you get in 900 calories?

  6. Protein Peanut Butter Balls

1/2 cup reduced fat Peanut Butter (i used Peter Pan)

1/2 cup Syntrax Matrix Peanut Butter Cookie Protein powder

    1/4 cup honey

    1/4 cup oat bran

Mix your dry ingredients first, then everything else. Makes 8.

    158 calories

    7.4 grams of Protein

    Delicious and husband approved!

Using PB2 in place (mixed up with Water of course) would lower the calories quite a bit.... you could even use chocolate PB2!!

    Thanks for the recipe!

  7. Just saw your reply, hope your surgery went well, please update me. I have had my first meeting with the dietician, just trying to start logging my food and work on portion sizes. Unfortunately or fortunately (all your perspective I guess) I can't lose more than 20# or my BMI will be too low for surgery, kind of a catch 22, oh well I will take this time to learn more and stay positive!

My surgery went well! I am on week 3 and doing better everyday. Been extremely tired though and not sure about going back to work next week, but I will take it one day at a time.

I think it's great that you have such a positive perspective, and another way to see it is that if you go under the 20# then it's not meant to be, but you are given some extremely useful tools! You can do it either way, it will work out the way it is supposed to.

    Any questions don't hesitate!

  8. All done, 12 hrs since surgery. Walked four times today. Walking is a must! This last walk I had so much air and I couldn't burp it out. Got nauseated and about threw up but managed to get five good ones out and didn't throw up! Doing very well! 8 of us here had surgery, mine wasn't the first but I was the first walking. Thank you all of you sleevers for posting your experience so I knew what to do going in!

Hope all is well with the rest of the 17th sleevers!

  9. So I blinked and I'm now only 3 days from my new tummy... so many emotions, so many thoughts. I am ready for this, almost two weeks of pre-op liquid diet done. A new life begins on the 17th, a new beginning. I find myself second guessing my decision, I have common fears of surgery and I am constantly thinking about it. I am excited and ready at the same time too. I know what I am feeling is normal, and I have noticed the excitement and readiness overcoming the fear and worry. This is it, no more work for 3 weeks... let me take this time to enjoy my mini vacation and begin my wonderful journey to a healthy me.

I hope everyone is doing well!

  10. I hear you! I read those threads in that forum as well. Big Mistake! Scared be big time. I too said that it gave me pause as to whether I am doing the right thing. I put that out there and I was quickly told that if I felt that way, then don't have it! Ha... Nice. Anyway instead I talked with my surgeon and explained my concerns. He of course started off by saying all surgeries have risks. He answered all my questions and definitely brought me back to a more normal reality. Keep in mind that there are thousands of use on this site. There will be a few with issues. But go back to the threads of those of previous months and years that have already had the surgery and had good results. If you follow plan as prescribed and follow post op instructions your risks go way down. Keep telling yourself that. I am not going to simply tell you that if you have doubts, don't have it.... Instead I am going to say go for it! It is a start of a new life! You will be fine. I say this to myself every day. And stay away from those threads about complications. :-). Good luck!

Thank you! I am doing it, but I am nervous, excited, happy, sad... just all sorts of mixed up emotions. I am ready. It will be fine :-)

  11. Congrats to those that have been sleeved! I am eager to get mine done... began pre-op diet Tuesday the 3rd, surgery the 17th. Just had my scope and all looks good to be cut out!

Getting excited and nervous.... I was bad and read the complications section and of course put me into second guessing my decision.

God speed to all of us!! :)
