    My fitness pal

Love using MFP to track what I'm eating but am still a bit confused as to how to set my daily goal values. The doctor wants me to have 30 grams of carbs (or less) so I set that number at 15% and MFP set my daily calories to 800. Then I get a message that I'm eating too few calories. How are your numbers set? Or do you just ignore the message and number of calories?

Wish i had a happy ending for me

Wow. What an ordeal! And a cautionary tale for us all. When I was having trouble getting foods down he said to be sure to get a lot of Protein and limit carbs to 30 grams per day. Never thought puréed chicken could taste delicious. I hope you can get back on track. Get your band adjusted, follow your plan, and get your life back. Good luck!!

Do they make more if insurance pays?

My insurance flat out denied my request saying that my company has an exclusion written right into the plan. That decision took them 5 months to make. The next day I called the surgeons office to go self pay and 3 weeks later I was banded. I had to prepay $11,000 to the surgeons office, $6000 on Care Credit and $5000 of my savings. The new roof will have to wait until next year! At my first follow up today, I asked if I had to pay on the way out and she said, no, you're all covered for your monthly visits.

Pain in left side rib cage

I just had my first post op and the doc said the pain is from inflammation around the port site. He told me not to sleep on my left side at all. We just need more healing time!

So I had my first follow up and all is looking good. I'm still very swollen but healing nicely. We watched that fluid flow into my pouch and it had a nice resistance. The pain is strictly located by the port with no signs of infection at the incision sites. So basically I just need more time to heal. My doctor is very pleased!

Scared to go to the gym

I was scared too. Then I found out there is a small room in the back for "women only" that is fully equipped! It's awesome. Just us gals cracking up and working hard. I don't even want to work in the big room anymore!

    Giving Up your favorite foods

OMGosh! How profound. This is my new motto!!!

I am finally feeling human again. The pain is still there but manageable with the pain medication and I'm starting to be able to keep foods down. Is anyone finding any humor in this? I call my banded stomach SP - full name Sensitive Pouch Romajin Stamos without the Stamos. I ask her, what's the matter SP? Those 2 teaspoons of sugar free Jello won't satisfy the princess for an hour? My coworker asked me if SP would like a cheese cube or would that be too much for her highness. I can just picture her on a pink pillow puffing out her lower lip. Should I cut down on the narcotics??

    Sleep Apnea and Sleeve Surgery

I have sleep apnea and I hated the mask at first. I felt like I couldn't breathe. So the doctor adjusted it so it goes from a 4 to a 12 gradually. Now I love it. It's weird, once I put the mask on, my body relaxes like it knows it's time to sleep. When I had the WLS they told me to bring the machine in case I needed it during recovery. But all was fine and it stayed in the car. I'm hoping I won't need it anymore once I get under 200 pounds. Along with the high blood pressure pills.
