    Fitbit

My Flex was a gift from my sister a week after surgery. I like that I can put it on and for the most part, forget about it. I'm a walker and it does what I need it to. I use my phone or computer if I want more details about my workouts. Usually, the vibration on my wrist when I reach my step goal is all I need.
  2. Mine was Dec 10th and I'm just a couple of pounds away from having lost 50% of my excess weight!

    Stomach feels full?

It very much could be from irritation. I had a stomach bug around a month ago, luckily no throwing up, but my system is still not like it was before. Foods that I ate before I was sick don't always sit now. I was up most of last night cuz I was so bloated and in such pain I nearly passed out at one point. All of this started over three hours after a meal that I had eaten before with no problems. I'm hoping that with time it will all improve, but I have an appointment with the NP coming up if it doesn't.

    Protein help

I have deli meat and cheese almost every day for lunch. I roll it up and put it in a non-stick skillet and warm it up until the cheese melts. Almost every morning for breakfast, I have a Dannon Lite and Fit yogurt and a Morningstar Farms veggie sausage patty. That gets me 22 grams of protein first thing in the morning and in an amount that doesn't over fill me.. Add the two ounces of Boars Head Ever Roast Chicken Breast and an ounce of low fat cheese fixed like above and I'm at 41 grams of protein. Chicken or fish for dinner and I'm at my 60 grams for the day. It's not easy, especially if it's a day that I don't feel hungry. But I'm pretty OCD about my protein and my water (80 ounces a day) ????

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Today, I wore a shirt to church that was bought in the regular ladies department, not the women's plus size department! The first time that has happened in decades! I felt amazing!

    Constipation

My surgeon's office has their patients start Miralax on day 3 post-op. We're allowed to take up to 3 doses a day. It worked so well for me that I only have to take it every other day. I had no constipation problems post-op.

I was also told never again for NSAIDS.

    Fitbit

I'm going to keep my Flex on tomorrow. Thanks stephh! I always worry that I'm going to lose it at the YMCA. Now I won't!

I just wish that I could wear it when I go to water aerobics.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I can now reach the clothes in the bottom, back of the washing machine tub. A big deal to me as I'm only five feet tall and used to have to get a step stool to get the last of the clothes out. I can reach them all!

    Protein?'s

I used them pre-op. I switched to Unjury so my cost would be less. Also, my first week post-op, I was told to drink protein shakes made with water. That leaves out the Premier shakes. I did like the convenience of them. But I like the flavor of Unjury better.
  16. @@Daisee68, That total started when I first started down the weight loss surgery path in May 2014. I had a six month insurance mandated weight loss requirement. I wasn't losing so I used my surgeon's pre-op diet as the basis for my insurance weight loss. So, basically, I did pre-op for six and a half months. Since surgery on December 10, 2014, I've lost 33 pounds. Not near what a lot of others who had surgery at the same time as I did. I lose 1 pound every 3-4 days. Slow but steady!

    The easy way?

Sorry, I hit the wrong key. I also have to find the time to get in 80+ ounces of water while not drinking 30 minutes before or after a meal. I have to be careful so I don't have dumping. Yes, my stomach has been made much smaller, but, I don't, in any way, think that this is the easy way. Ruffled feathers? Maybe just a few! ????

    The easy way?

Coastalchick, I don't know about you, but I do spend hours at the gym and exercising at home (as I did pre-op). I have also modified my behavior as I think all of us have had to do post-op. My eating habits were excellent, my doctors were pleased. Yet, I was morbidly obese. I tried it the "hard" way. If it works for them, great. It didn't work for me, no matter how much I tried. I had a gastric bypass. I'm still waiting for the easy part. I don't think that having to make sure I get enough protein in everyday is the easy way. Not when I have to have 60 grams and I can only hold 2 ounces three times a day

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I was cleaning out some drawers and found some khaki pants that my daughter had given me several years ago, back in my Weight Watcher days. Two pairs of size 16 and some size 14s. THEY FIT!!! ???? ????????

    Just curious

No, I didn't have to have a blood transfusion. My blood counts dropped some, but not to that extent.

    Stomach bug

I'm currently battling a stomach bug. I have a lot of nausea and some diarrhea, but have, by sheer determination, not thrown up yet. I've already talked with my surgeon's office about what to do but am interested in other gastric bypasser's experience with this to know what to expect in the next couple of days.

    Week 2 Question

Reading all the threads and posts about eating during the puree stage makes me so happy that my surgeon's post-op diet plan did not include a pureed stage! I went from clear liquids week 1 to eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, shredded cheese and refried beans in week 2. Week 3, I started chicken, turkey and fish, taking small bites and chewing thoroughly.
  23. Actually, weight loss was not a part of my decision. The fact that in the year before my RNY, my health took a severe turn for the worse due to diabetes. Drs told me that RNY would change things back to healthy again. And it has. I've not had the dramatic weight loss that others have. I'm a slow loser and it's okay! I've already accomplished what I set out to! No diabetes meds. No high blood sugar levels, no pancreatitis caused by the meds. I'd say surgery was a success!
  24. Yes, I have used Unjury. I started using it during my insurance mandated weight loss, continued using it for my pre-op diet and still use it 8 weeks post-op. I've used it mixed with water (first week post-op) and milk. I've had it as it comes and with Torani sugar free syrups added to it. (my favorite is chocolate classic with hazelnut syrup). I will say that I found the chocolate splendor flavor was too sweet for me but I love the chocolate classic. I think that it's very worthwhile to order the sampler. Just know that the chocolate classic doesn't come with the sampler.
