  2. Soooooo...... when is my body going to settle, 8 months in and it hasnt slowed down lol. from 4xl to L from 48w to 34w and i still cant buy clothes because i keep dropping.

  3. I'm not complaining, but I know it is going to sound that I am.  But here goes:

I used to be discouraged going shopping because I knew that more often than not, all the nicer clothes I really wanted to wear would not come in my size.

So now I lost the weight, and wouldn't you effing know it, I'm in the same position as before again, but on the opposite end!

Winners is one of my fave stores, because every once in a while you'll score.  I went to one across the street from the office at lunchtime today.  And every single item I tried on was too big.  We are talking Smalls and Extra-Smalls.  I had to buy a child size hoodie at Roots the other day and I thought it was pretty funny.  Not so funny anymore.

Its easier to find clothing if you fit into the mid-range sizes. Its funny that plus size clothing and small and XS are a bit more difficult to find. Vanity sizing makes me crazy. Size depends on the designer.

  4. I officially have no butt. Other than a crease where the bottom of my butt should be, there is no difference between the back of my thighs and my derriere.  Need up my squat game...

      I feel your pain. :363_peach:

  5. I'm a finisher of a half marathon! Completed yesterday on a beautiful day to run. My hips and Knee are pretty angry with me today, but we finished at 2:19. Not bad for my first half. I was able to run with my wife, so that made it much nicer and easier to get through

  6. Well, I am breezing through, after 3 times of trial and error/ trying when it comes to referrals for weight lost surgery 4 years of headache, changes of insurance, diets, pains, ups and downs (a whole lot of them!). It finally paid off and my surgery is May 15th of this month. I've been doing my liquid diet and it's going okay, I'm trying to remember to take my vitamins and do stuff right. I had a smart watch with a timer/log for my meds, food, water, and exercise that synced to my phone but I don't know how that well I use it so instead I just have a log I put on my fridge now. I think I'm going to call this year "The Year Of Self Care and Improvements" because I REALLY want to live up to that. I feel VERY alone though and I've lost friends and family due to my decision to have weight loss surgery and also the fact that I don't go out much because I don't want to be tempted/go back to old habits right now and I guess that's another reason why I lost connections. But I just see it this way maybe some of those people don't deserve me because I have high hopes for the future and it doesn't involve those fake people who said they would be there for me until the end. But I'd rather love/learn to love myself because in the end that's all I have, I'm a lone wolf but it's okay I'll find people worthy of my time and efforts someday.

      Congratulations on your surgery date.

You are in the right headspace for all of the changes coming your way. I like that this is your year of self care and improvements. Relationships change. Its positive to cut ties with people that are unsupportive or negative in your life. Your not alone in this. Talk, vent and ask questions. We have your back.

This is your time to work on you..inside and out. forgive and love yourself. Make peace with your life.

  7. I had a setback yesterday. I went to the ER in severe stomach pain and nausea. It turns out that I had a stricture so the ER stabilized me and then I was transported to Wilmington Hospital, where I had the surgery to begin with. They did some emergent repairs. I am doing okay but in too much pain to get around. Anyhow, the surgeon emphasized rest and not getting up and moving. I will be discharged on Friday morning as they want to keep me for observation. Life happens but we keep moving, right-o?

  8. I am starting to really like physical activity! Just did a 30 minute hi-intensity cycle ride at LA Fitness. Yeah it was tough but it sure feels great afterwards. I feel like a completely new and different person; like the depression is starting to lift and I feel a renewed sense of motivation. I actually feel like getting my performance bicycle out of mothballs. I haven't ridden it in 5 years and right now I am so glad I did not get rid of it. I am going to get it over to the bike shop, tune it up, and get ready to ride. There is an event on August 25th, almost exactly 5 years to the day that I rode my first ever century ride, 100 miles. I marked it on my calendar and the training begins now! I need something to keep me on the straight and narrow, something to focus on. Even if I am the last rider at the finish line, I will be a winner.

  9. Some NSVs I've experienced to date:

My clothes became baggy enough that I needed to transition sizes in my closet and buy a few more standard items.  Two days ago I was able to walk into Old Navy and purchase size 18 jeans.  At my HW I was in a 26.  Never thought seeing a 1 in the tens place would make me so proud.

I no longer need my inhaler to work out.

I am able to take 1 hour walks around our neighborhood without stopping, feeling fatigued, or wheezing.

My back rolls are almost non existent.

I can feel my pelvic and hip bones!  I also have some knuckle and ankle definition.  Who knew?!

I wore heels and my feet weren't screaming in pain.

My migraines haven't popped up in months.

I picked up a bag of Starburst FaveReds Jelly Beans in the supermarket, put them back down, and walked away.

Many of us here have had a gain and are working it back off.

No magic pill has ever worked for me. It's going back to bariatric basic eating plan.logging your food, Hitting your protein goal , lots of water and exercise.

Choose the pain of discipline or the pain of regret.

Correct form. Some machines don't fit a woman's frame. I used a exterior oblique machine to strengthen my core. It will build muscle to make your mid section thick (straight up and down waist) Not an hourglass shape. Who knew...lol

Glad to see it warm up. I live on my patio most of the summer. I love summer nights when it cools down to 90. Sitting outside people watching at the village or downtown is the best at night.

Loved the article. It is similar to Relay For Life. Race for the cure is to raise funds for breast cancer. My Mother passed away in 2013. She was my main reason why I had surgery. Every year, I run race for the cure for mothers day . All in memory of her.
