Okay so I've notice quiet a few of you mentioning headaches during preop diets! Is this a common thing ? I've had some bad headaches as well but I suffer from chronic headaches on the best of days just wondering If any one know what to do to avoid them?

Hey all! I'm booked in with dr.almanza on July 25, and it's costing me 4200.00. It's usually 4400 but me and my mom are booked for the same day so they give you a discount! I'm extremely nervous but excited to get it over and done with and start the new chapter in my life! I am 32 yrs old and I'm 5'7" and my cw is 330 starting my preop diet next Monday! Has anyone else bed to or booked in with dr.almanza?

I've started protein shakes yesturday.. My pre-op diet doesn't start till July 15th but I wanted to ease into it!! I'm replacing breakfast and lunch with a shake and then eating a healthy dinner. It's not so bad! I bought body fortress whey protein in chocolate and vanilla! Much better than I expected! I've been looking up recipes for shakes in Pinterest, so many options out there! It's crazy to think that my new life will start in 20 days... Yahhh, still nervous but getting excited for the journey! How's everyone else feeling?

My surgery is booked for July 25th and I just booked my flight on Monday, but that being said I used my reward points from my credit card and got two flights from Alberta to San Diego for 237.00. Whoop whoop!

I'm July 25th too! I only have to do 10 pre op diet but I think I'm going to start replacing one of my meals with a protein shake just to ease myself into it!

Hey everyone! Im so happy to hear from fellow albertans! im from just outside of edmonton. I just finalized my surgery tonight! I will be having the gastric sleeve on july 25, 2014 in Tijuana with Dr. Almanza! Im excited and scared all at the same time. I started the process here through the weight wise clinic but at the time i was not considering surgery! i know that weight times are becoming less but i want to get it over with and start my new life! Im glad to hear that some of you used dr. Almanza as well! i had family that used him and highly recommended him! Its only costing 4200.00 plus flights! Hey everyone, I've been reading everyone's posts about the different shakes and drinks they are using after surgery. I notice that a lot of people are from the states, so I'm wondering what Canadians are drinking? do we have the same products? i haven't shopped around yet, but i just confirmed my surgery date for July 25 so i want to start getting things in order! Hey everyone!! I'm scheduled for July 25 in Mexico! Like so many posts I've read here I'm flipping between super excited to start my new life and terrified that I'm actually going through with it! Although I find comfort in this page and everyone's success stories and can't wait to post my before and after photos!

Hello everyone! So this is my first ever post on here, although Ive been reading all the conversations for months! So i am 32 years and have struggled with my weight my whole life. I will go on diets or healthy kicks and lose a few pounds but eventually it all comes back and it brings more friends! haha overall im fairly healthy except for PCOS. Ive always had the mentality that i wasn't big enough for WLS surgery but at 5'7 and 332 lbs i can't push down the denial any more. I have decided that i need to do this now while i'm still young enough to enjoy the rest of my life. So i decided to head to Mexico for the Surgery with Dr. Almanza, tentatively i have a surgery date of July 25, 2014. although i haven't finalized it with payment. To be honest im crazy scared and when i think that its only a month away my heart drops and my stomach turns. Im just looking for some words of wisdom, advice from others that are going through or have already been through this. What are some must know things that you wish you would have known before you went into this! TIA!

Thanks@@Healthier2day1227!! see im not so scared about the going under part ive had a few other surgeries so that part is a breeze, its the going to Mexico, having most of my stomach cut out, and then not knowing if im going to be one of those people that can't eat anything and is sick all the time.. im sure it will be find, i guess its just the unknown right. and like you said maybe i will be that 0.01 % that has a leaks or dies.. you never know! but i guess if i dont have im going to go through some horrible things because of the weight as well!
