  1. I felt that way too! Especially the last 2 weeks of pre op. The morning of my surgery I was thinking, wth am I doing? The next 3 days postop was pretty bad too. But from then on in, it's gotten easier and easier! I love my sleeve. I love my new lifestyle. I'm a very slow loser, always have been. But I love knowing that inevitably the weight will come off! Yay! So please know, it will get worse before it gets better, but once it gets better, it will be very well worth it! Hang in there!

    Weight Gain

How do you get rid of the water retention? I'm up a pound now from a few days ago, is there something we can do? Does drinking a lot of water flush out the bloat? Just curious...

    Weight Gain

That's totally crazy! I was somewhat in the same boat, still am. I believe that at 600 calories a day, our bodies go into starvation mode, and hold on to the fat I'm post op one month, and taking in 600/800 cals a day, and was up a half pound today, I feel your pain. But inevitably it will come off.

    You're so vain...

We live in a world with an appetite to look good. We revolve ourselves around it. It's probably the most acceptable stereotype, FAT. so, yes, without a doubt I did this to be more attractive, more accepted, and yes, more healthy as well. But damn, I want to look fabulous , you almost have to , to feel fabulous, just speaking the truth. Don't get me wrong, I've always felt good about myself, just not very confident, always worried about my weight. Still on my journey , but it's a fun one so far!

    Wanting icecream

I would go for a sugar free fudgecicle. They are 30 calories and hit the spot. My dr said they are ok.
  7. Throwing on shorts and a tank top, and leaving the house wearing them! I live in south Florida, it's hot! But I never wear shorts or tank tops out, this would be so awesome for me!

How much did you weigh when....

I was a 16 or 14 at my heaviest, 226. I now am 204, and still in my 14's. Luckily, I have many 12's and some 10's in my closet from 5 years ago that will get me through until I reach my goal, and can go shopping for 8's. (Hoping)

    June sleevers, check-in!

I was able to eat soft foods on day 3. Pretty crazy, doctors orders. Anyone else?

    June sleevers, check-in!

I've only lost 12 pounds since surgery, only one pound this week? It does bother me, but I'm hoping for a big loss this week, I'm trying to get in more protein, less fat and sugar , and I'm going to do some extra walking . We can do this! Seems like most of us are having the same issue.

    June sleevers, check-in!

I love my fitness pal! I really helps! I'm eating between 600-800 calories a day. My loss is slow, but always has been.
  13. It's says "stall forum" why go on it and read and post if you hate reading about stalls? Just sayin.....
  14. I had the same issue, I was sleeved June 9. The second week I didn't lose, actually went up about a pound! So, for now, I'm not weighing myself daily. Every Monday morning, I will weigh in. My clothing feels much roomier, so I'm going by that right now. I'm only down 11 pounds since surgery, I'm a slow loser, but happy I'm losing!

    Post Op June 2014 Sleevers

Every doctor is different! We were told after 3 days of liquids to start the mushy food phase. 60 grams of protein per day. Cottage cheese, yogurt, retried beans, tuna ,etc. along with protein drinks everyday, mashed potatoes is on the list as well, haven't tried them though. I don't want to eat carbs without the protein. I haven't had any issues.

    Any june 9 sleevers?

That's frustrating! What was your start weight? Did you lose on the preop diet? How are you feeling, and what are you eating? I'm losing slowly, so I understand , but I don't know how it must feel to not lose at all.

What did you tell your children?

My kids are older, 9- and 13. I told the 9 year old, I was having a operation that was going to make me be healthy. I told my 13 year old more. But I've made this into a whole family participation! We all are eating healthier, the kids want to, it's amazing to me, and my hubby is too. I haven't bought bad snacks since pre op, and they are all ok with it. We are all getting healthy, and that's the word I use, not diet, or losing weight, or getting skinny, just healthy.
  18. This may not apply to you, but for me I was wearing size 14 at the time of surgery, but I really should've been wearing a 16. So now that I've lost 20 pounds, my 14s are fitting me like they should've been, do you see where I'm going here?
  19. I am newly sleeved only 16 days postop, but over the weekend I took the kids to chik Fil A, and my daughter got the grilled chicken nuggets, I had a small nibble of one, it was good. I know that I will run into this problem a lot, because of a busy schedule, I know from time to time I will end up at a place like chic Fil a. I'm following this post too. I've read on here some people will order plain burger from mcdonalds , and eat just the burger. Or Taco Bell, a taco without the shell.
  20. I was sleeved June 9. I lost 10 lbs the first week. This week, I've lost nothing, I'm actually up about half pound. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm on the mushy phase, Which has consisted of tuna, cottage cheese, yogurt, ground chicken, about 2 oz. per meal, I take in about 700/800 calories per day. And I jog 3 times week, only about 3/4 mile. I still drink my two protein drinks a day too.

    Self pay in Texas

My doctor fixed it free of charge. I may have been able to put it through insurance, but he didn't charge any extra for the fix.

    Self pay in Texas

I did self pay in Florida. It was $10,500. But worth every penny. I'm happy with my choice and my doctor and hospital were great. I also had a hernia repaired. I, too, knew my insurance didn't cover bariatric surgery.

    June 2014 Sleevers Check In!

Start taking 5000 biotin a day. It is supposed to help with hair loss. My doctor said to wait 4 weeks post op before starting. Good luck.
  24. I run my own business, so I only took a week off. It was fine, but two weeks would have been great.

    low bmi still obese

My bmi was 35 when I got surgery, size 14, I'm 5'6. Family and friends had their opinions - they said you can do this on your own, blahblah, the fact is I could not do it on my own I lost the same 20 pounds for years! People have voluntary surgery all the time! My girlfriend who was against wls for me had her boobs done! What?! She did something to make herself feel more confident, so did I ! This is America, so it's only up to me what decisions I make ! And it's only up to you too! Good luck to you! Do what you makes you happy!
