    Things I won't miss...

For me .... Wearing Black ALL THE TIME Frustration that all I can wear are lycra pants because jeans etc don't fit Feeling like the fattest person in every room, place .... Feeling like people judge me when I eat Not being able to wear a bra comfortably Thighs rubbing Not being able to cross my legs Feeling ugly and fat Wearing summer clothes sweating all the time Hate the thought of putting on my bathing suit Being depressed because I gained all my weight back that I lost and kept off for 7 years!!!!!!! What I love .... That my hubby loves me regardless! My surgery is June 30 and I CAN'T WAIT!!!

    Any 2014 June Sleevers

I've been watching a lot of videos on Youtube from people who have had the experience. There are a few good ones from people providing some good info. It's worth browsing and watching. It gives you "hope" AND a realistic view of what we should expect! It's not all sunshine and rainbows!

    June Sleevers?

    I'm scheduled for June 30
  4. I am having surgery June 30. Previously I lost 60 lbs and kept it off successfully for 7 years and I, too, used an online tool to log my food and exercise. I had the same experience, people would ask me what I do and then make up every excuse in the book why they couldn't do it: "I can't feed the kids eggs for Breakfast, they like cereal" 'I eat what the kids eat ...." "I'm too busy with work and kids and activities" "its a lot of work to plan and keep track" "I am out of the office a lot, I can't bring my lunch" "my family won't eat THAT" Well, that's fine then, don't do it, but don't complain because you can't lose weight. To each his own. Anyone can make up excuses for things they don't want to do. p.s. we all know its not rocket science! WLS is a tool not a cure!

    Answering the haters

I liked your blog. Thanks for that! I lost 60 lbs 7 years ago and kept it all off with sensible eating and exercise (walking 6-8km/day) until about 2 years ago when the following happened: divorce and mediation diagnosed with depression became a grandma to 2 beautiful twin girls! repairing relationships with my adult children after their dad said bad things about me (even though he was the cheater!!) - a LOT of work! met someone new (I was very careful, didn't even let him kiss me for 3 weeks! I'm 50, that's how scared I was) moved in with my wonderful man renovated our kitchen my job changed got engaged my son got married my daughter got married I got married So ..... I started eating and stopped walking ..... and I gained it all back and then some ..... So I know I "can" do it, its a lot of work. I too have hypothyroidism AND a ruined metabolism from yoyo dieting so I look at this as a tool. I know I can fail but it will go a long way to helping me stay on track! And anyway, IT'S NONE OF THEIR DAMN BUSINESS WHAT I DO!!!!!!!!!!!

    Daily food schedule

I haven't had my surgery yet but I'm hoping that once I start on solid foods I can eat lean Protein and salads/veggies. My hubby likes rice so right now I always make that for him in a small quantity but I don't usually eat it myself. My concern won't be "what" to eat ( even if its basic ) because I love to cook so I always research recipes etc and have some paleo cookbooks already - my concern will be "how much" I can eat. Unless of course, food just makes me nauseas - then, Houston, we have a problem! LOL If you have access to a nutritionist I would get in touch asap and get some help! The company I am going through has a patient facilitator to follow up with before, during and after surgery so I know I have support and someone to reach out to for advice after.
  7. When you do resistance training you build your muscles. Muscle weighs more than fat. So this doesn't mean you get bigger, you should be "smaller" in size (tighter, some people may say) but you may say the same or weigh a bit more in some cases. Try to guage how you feel in your clothes or actually measure yourself, including your thighs and calves and see how you are in a few more weeks.
