Reading this I'm not sure. I feel like I'm having hunger pain that go to my back. I wake up in the middle if the night. So now I'm grabbing naps when I feel satisfied. If I'm sucking or drinking something, I'm okay. But I will say I'm annoying. Like can I go to stage 2 if this is what it is???(I was sleeved 8/20) I have dreams if eating really good food. This is soooo torturous!!!! Help...any guidance out there???

I just got the call my 8/20 surgery has been approved. I was getting a little scared because I hadn't heard from my doctors office. My psychologist visit held up the paperwork. I told them I had to get my paperwork in and then they decide to go on vacation before turning in paperwork in to the doctors office. All is well now just two days before my officially sleeve and on the losers bench I'm very excited and very happy. To God be all the glory!

I think I'm beginning to realize that with having VSG surgery, most of my stomach will be GONE FOREVER! This choice is seriously permanent, and I'm trying fathom this. This a God given major organ that I'm going to have removed. Did anybody else feel this way? How did you rationalize this? Help folk! (From what I've read here and spoken to others they're pretty happy with their choice).

I dont even think of my WLS anymore like I did with the band. I feel really good and dont even realize im missing part of my stomach. There's no worry about food getting stuck, throwing up because food is stuck, worrying the band has slipped or fear the bite you just took was too big and its gonna get stuck.
It is easier to over eat with the sleeve though. You have to make sure you stop when youre satisfied and not full. That takes some practice because sometimes what your eating tastes so good and you want more of it! But take your time eating and enjoy the food. Measure out your portions and stuck to that and not to go back for more.
I just wish I had the sleeve originally and never had the band to begin with.the sleeve has been great!

This a great thread! I'm pre op for the sleeve and on 4/30 getting my lapband removed. I never told anyone in my family except my mom and my sister...not even my dad. I haven't told and never will tell him about my lapband. He is very negative and comments about my weight or say oh I thought you were on a diet when he feels like it to be snide! I've been struggling with telling him about it. But I don't think I can handle telling him, with the possibility of unwelcomed comments. My one girlfriend talks about setting boundaries with people, which is right. However, my dad doesn't respect them and offends and then gets offended that your offended by his comments (crazy, right?). The difference between this surgery and the last is that live with my parents now, last time I had my own. With reading all these comments and such, I'm going to continue working out as I do, change my eating habits, and have my "gall bladder" surgery. I'm a teacher so summer working out and weight loss is normal for me. Thanks because, I didn't know how to handle this. Like so many of us this is a SENSITIVE topic. I don't feel my surgery(ies) is no ones business and not a topic of discussion out side of my inner circle and those I trust. Unfortunately that's not my family with the exception of my mom and sister. Thanks because I'm considering this explanation. I haven't fully decided what I'll do because the way I feel about it (especially my dad) is touch and go. But I almost feel I'll probably end up not being so forth coming, but oh well it's my life....
