  1. I had revision from sleeve to bypass on 3/5, due to severe reflux. The day after surgery I already felt the reflux still, I’m so disappointed. I still have reflux, the medicine isn’t working to keep it away. It’s not as bad as it was before surgery but it’s still there daily and still wakes me up. Has anyone else had revision for reflux and not had it go away like me? What did you do next? My dr said maybe it will still go away, and if it doesn’t hopefully it won’t be as bad as it was before, I don’t accept that as an answer. It needs to go!
  2. Well I hope it gets better, I will update if it does! Good luck on your surgery, it sounds like the majority has reflux go away completely so I’m sure you will be one of them 😊 I have lost 23, been stalked for 3 weeks now...
  3. I had surgery 3/5. I was on omeprozole and it didn’t do anything, I went back to Nexium and it was still there so now I am back to two Nexium a day. Just like before surgery. My surgeon says he’s perplexed, I’m the only one he has had where the reflux was not resolved. Very aggravating.
  4. In the beginning I was shocked at how much I could drink, never felt full from drinking like I did with the sleeve. Once I started eating solid food I felt the restriction, and I am still learning not to take that extra bite because I will have a very uncomfortable feeling and thick saliva and throwing up is the only thing I can do to feel better. I have had a few instances where out of no where I am running with a watery mouth to vomit. I remember being told you can’t throw up after bypass and that’s clearly not true! My reflux still sucks, and the weight loss is SLOWWWWWW.
  5. Ugh I’m sorry it’s happening to you too. I spoke to my surgeon Monday, he said I’m the only one he has had that the reflux hasn’t completely resolved and he’s perplexed. I just want it gone! Please keep me updated on how’s yours is doing!
  6. I haven’t taken carafate no, I’ll ask about it thank you, and yes I don’t eat or drink an hour before bed it’s never good if I do! Thanks!
  7. That gives me some hope thank you!
  8. Yes, he has me on omeprozole for the first 30 days after surgery, but I also take Pepcid complete because the omeprozole isn’t enough

    Holy crap...that's amazing!
  10. I just heard this term, and I am wondering what exactly it means...I sometimes get a thick saliva when I eat solid food, I am 2 months 17 days post op. Is that what sliming is?
  11. Anyone who has had the sleeve for a longer time (I'm only 2 weeks out) can you ever gulp down water again if you are really thirsty like after a workout?

    Stall

Thanks for this post because I am 2 weeks and 3 days post op, lost 10 the first week, now its not moving. I keep thinking its not going to work for me either because I don't understand how I can be eating so little, and all good things, drinking so much walking everyday and the weight doesn't fly off! I really hope its just an adjustment period for my body because need to see result its depressing me!
  13. I had a 10 1/2 month old when I had my surgery a little over 2 weeks ago, hes 11 months now, he is between 20 and 25 pounds, my husband works nights and sleeps days, so I have been staying at my moms except for his days off, I also have a 3 year old, so I have really appreciated the help while I recover! Though I feel like I can do anything since teh first week was over, and I have lifted my baby from time to time out of habit or necessity, I know I need to take it easy and try not to lift him, my dr. said at least 3 weeks, because originally they said 6 weeks and I couldn't see that happening!
  14. Thanks for all the replies, I guess I will have to wait and see, but glad to see that most people can gulp down water!
  15. Thanks for all the replies, I guess I will have to wait and see how it is for me, but seems like most can gu

    Nerves

I was the same way as soon as I got my date. I felt like I could have called and canceled at any moment! I got over my nerves and had my surgery, I'm 11 days post op, and everything went fine, no complications. It will for you too! Positive thoughts really help, picture your new life and reminding yourself why you are doing this! Sending lots of prayers your way! Good luck, you will do great!

    Mushy phase questions

Thanks everyone Yeah I think the mushy phase is more puree food, but exactly, I cant imagine eating pureed shrimp scallops! lol I don't know what remoulade is...but maybe I will just wait till week 9 for the seafood. I am very excited about the peanut butter and saltines, though I am surprised I am allowed them since I can see that being an easy problem for me since a cracker! Thanks again for your responses!
  22. This Thursday will be 2 weeks for me, the end of my liquid phase and the start of my mushy phase (3-8weeks), the list of food I can eat includes shrimp and scallops, I love both, but how am I supposed to prepare it so that it is mushy enough? Also, it says I can have saltines and peanut butter, this may be a silly question, but does that mean I can spread the peanut butter on the saltines and have it like that? Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks
  23. Thanks for the words of wisdom, really is appreciated! I keep envisioning myself going on vacations with my boys in a few years and not worrying about fitting in seats with them! That should keep me going
