1. I felt the same way after I got mine. I just kept thinking "what did I do?!" But I'm on 3 1/2 years post op and I'm so happy I did this. Every year I am able to eat something new and the stuff I can't eat I don't miss as much. I lost 90lbs and have kept it off! I have trouble with the Protein and Water too and some weeks are harder than others. Just keep trying cause honestly there's no going back.

  2. I'm about the same (5'3 and started at 230). To date I'm down about 90lbs down. Right after the surgery i started going to gym and working with a trainer. The excess skin wasn't too bad. Then I hurt my back and haven't been back to gym as regularly. I'd say about 5-10 lbs of my weight are from excess skin. My insurance won't cover the surgery and it would be like 12k out of my own pocket. I'm going back to the gym which will definitely help but there's always going to be some sagging. Just definitely stick with a gym routine so the flab can turn to muscle.

  3. @

Dr Roslin was very nice and explained everything so I could understand. His staff at Lenox hill was so nice and made sure I was doing well before they released me. I'm over 2 yrs post op now and am 149 (6 lbs up from my 143 goal). Let me know if you have any questions about the procedure or anything! It was really hard recovery and having to give up some foods but in the end I'm so glad I did it. Everyone says I'm like a new person, physically and with regards to my confidence!

  4. Anyone have suggestions on real foods that don't make you feel like you've eat a pile of rocks? I'm about 3 months post op and down 45 lbs. I'm trying to eat real foods again but everything feels so heavy in my stomach. I'm currently on a business trip and basically haven't eaten in four days because I can't tolerate more then four bites of anything.

Basically I just need someone to tell me it does get easier and it wasn't all a big mistake lol

  5. Omg I cannot believe it's been a whole month since I had my surgery!!! I'm down 21 lbs and able to eat some real foods like eggs, sweet potatoes, ect...even tried some salmon today. Still having pain in my stomach and I think one of my incisions maybe becoming infected. Still very frustrated but learning to not care as much. It's worth it to be down a pant size!

  6. I had my surgery yesterday morning (Tuesday). All is well but this gas is giving me a hard time. Plus when I feel I'm ready to burp it's more so stuff that wants to come up. I guess that's the acid reflux.

I'll be so glad to do this swallow study in the morning once that's done I can drink something.

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Don't be so excited about that lol. I had mine and threw it all up when I got back to my room. Not a fun time. Ask if they can give you something more then nexium for the acid reflux. I found it only kind of helps. Glad your keeping a good attitude tho :)

  7. I had the laparoscopic sleeve surgery a week ago today. I started at 233lbs and am now 221lbs.

I wasn't totally prepared for the post op pain so I had a few dark moments where I regretting having the surgery at all. Walking really does help and now I can lay on my side again with minimum discomfort. Going back to work tomorrow and kind of nervous about being up for a whole 8 hrs but excited to finally get out of this house.

Thrilled to see who I become out of this whole process...ready to meet the me I always wanted to be :)

  8. Does yogurt count on your full liquids?

My dr told me that I can't have yogurt until I go to my post op appt (I believe it's in the pureed stage) but double check with ur dr to make sure. I know so many drs do everything differently[/QUOMine said after 5 days post op I can have Greek yogurt. Be sure to look at the sugar levels on everything. If it's more then 10g/serving don't have it. Your body can't handle that much sugar anymore so you have to read all labels and be careful
