@PAguy I had no problems with liquids, I did have problems with each transition... there is a reason I always tell people to bring an extra pair of underwear along. When I felt the need to go, it was probably too late, I know TMI. I can say that it will eventually get better, and your husband will love you regardless. I would say it could be dumping syndrome. I also find it odd you are not taking your supplements. I had to start taking them 3 days post op. It took me about 45 minutes to get them all down.... Have you checked your blood pressure??? It is concerning that you are dizzy/light headed... are you really getting your fluids in a day???

@TheBearguy8 I agree, there isn't much for activity on here. How are you doing? Ten days out.... hope all is well. -
@PAguy I look forward to hearing about your successes!!!!

@PAguy how are you doing???

@VSG_Man_Vs_Food My recommendations are an extra pair or underwear, and the helpful suggestion to never trust a fart. I also felt that using GasEx strips were very helpful in decreasing the discomfort associated with the gas used during the surgery. Good Luck on you journey!

@PAguy Good luck!!! I would suggest taking several before pictures.

Most certainly, your tastes and tolerance change. Since my sleeve, I actually crave bacon, something I abhorred before my surgery. I loved ice cream before and now my body and my GI tract do not agree with it, especially chocolate ice cream.

TMI Gay Men & future of bottoming - serious question
defibvt replied to TheBearguy8's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@TheBearguy8 Just follow the diet plan you've set out with, drink plenty of liquids. I take a glass of metamucil every day to help keep me regular, and if your are all that concerned, give yourself a nice cleansing enema before engaging in sex. Good luck on your surgery, focus on that... -
@TheBearguy8 rest assured, your fears are all in your mind. Don't overthink things. Yes, having an active sex life is possible post surgery. In fact, if memory serves me right, about week 10 I had a surge in desiring sex, and nearly wore my partner out. As far as getting enough fiber in your diet, yes that is possible, but always more important is getting enough liquids, getting dehydrated can spell doom to the GI system.

Yes thanks for sharing. I didn't have surgery to fit into a smaller shirt, I did it for health and well being... -
@PAguy sorry to hear that. I had the same experience with United Health. I ended up paying out of pocket for my sleeve... good luck with your journey...

I will not brag, but my surgery cost me $4400 and a plane ticket to and from San Diego. I am unfortunate to work for a hospital that performs bariatric surgery, is a Bariatric Center of Excellence, and forces employees to undergo biometric screenings, and based on those result, force unhealthy, overweight employees to pay more in insurance, but DOES NOT COVER BARIATRIC SURGERY (it is specifically written into the insurance plan). My sister, who had her surgery about 6 months before I decided, put me in touch with this site, and the Mexican surgery forum. I found my surgeon, after careful consideration and from January 2015 (from finding out my insurance didn't cover it) to my surgery on March 2, 2015, is all the only waiting I had to do. I did inform my PCP and he was okay with it and agreed to do my follow up. Now 2 years later, no regret... just wish I would have done this earlier.

Unintended Consequences of Massive Weight Loss
defibvt replied to UpandAtom's topic in The Guys’ Room
@UpandAtom I really like them. They lift and separate your package so it doesn't cause any chaffing, pinching or embarrassing entrapment. I hope you like them as much as I do. I am interesting the the forth version. I own one of the first, 2 of the second and 2 of the third. -

I just did a quick check on Amazon.com.... yes they do sell jeans in size 28 for men.. BTW great job!!!! You need to look for 'slim fit' jeans, verses straight leg or loose fit...

How fast can you return to work ?
defibvt replied to Natí Beesh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I took off 2 weeks. I know people who took off less and many who took off more. It is greatly dependent on what kind of work you do. Sent from my XT1254 using the BariatricPal App -

Help choosing a surgeon in MX
defibvt replied to snogueda's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I would highly recommend Dr Elias Ortiz, from A Lighter Me... As an ICU nurse I had high standards for the surgeon who would do my sleeve. I am nearly 2 years out, and am highly satisfied with my results and the people and staff, at the hospital, A Lighter Me and the hotel, you stay at, are awesome. Since I have had my surgery, and the results I've had, my brother in law, my nephew, a co-worker of my sister and a friend of mine have had surgery with A Lighter Me, and I've heard nothing but positive results. Good luck on your journey! -
