  1. You are feeling better now, I hope!!! It is all a process or a journey. Sometimes it is overwhelming. Happy Belated Birthday!

    New to fifties group

. Take some pics of yourself. Crop you head off if necessary. The visual changes will be crazy motivating to you, and to others. Best of luck!

    Valentine's Challenge

Mich... What I am learning from this, my second challenge, is to not give up if I don't lose weight. I was not close to my goal at the Holiday challenge and apparently not going to make this one either. For me, though, posting that number on the scale and not being overly awful to myself is what I am "gaining" from this stuff. Good luck to you. Hang in there!

    Hair Loss

I began losing hair at 2 months. I am 4 months out and it still is falling. I began biotin. Kind of fascinating to me, how much hair I can lose and not go bald. Enough falls out to plug the drain when showering. I don't brush as often and use lots of hairspray when going out do hair doesn't fall into dinner plates of others! I did get a shorter cut and am happy I did!

    Stopped losing HELP!

I was right where you are! So scary and frustrating! I am back on track with increased water and less, much less processed foods. I had a two month stall. Push through it. Maintain your loss and look forward to the break through... It WILL come!!
  9. I am 4 months post-op, and for the last week, most of the time I eat or drink something, I have a cramp like feeling in my stomach. It occurs 80% of the time. Water, yogurt, protein shake, soup, eggs etc. The unpleasant feeling can last 15 minutes to hours. It is not sharp pain. Really not pain as much as "unpleasant and odd." Has this been discussed recently by anyone? My searches turned up empty.
  10. Thanks for the reply! I have much simpler, more minimal issue. Doctor said I may have beginnings of gall bladder stuff or, as I have noticed, symptoms are minimizing and may go away all together!
  11. Lipstick, when did your stricture show up? I am not yet sure what is "wrong" but, I have felt the same way... If it helps me stay in line and won't hurt me, leave it alone. Sometimes, even without eating or drinking, I get a similar feeling. Pressure or hunger or something I just can't put a finger on...,

    Gastric Sleeve after Hysterectomy

I had a total hysterectomy 4 years prior to sleeve. I was 49. Did not go on hormones. No issues except I did gain weight. Hence the WLS. I had sharp pains during post op which may have been adhesions from hysterectomy and c sections. But not a big deal.
  13. I am seeing Dr next week to see if it is a stricture. I am hoping it resolves itself. Honestly, it is helping me with weight loss but I know whatever is happening ain't supposed to, so Dr. visit is warranted.
  14. I had a long long stall. Holidays were a reality check. Stall is over and just going to look at my post op life as living stall to stall and focusing on the long term goal!!

Biotin how much are you taking

5000 one pill per day. Have only been doing it a week, so no improvement in hair loss yet, but my fingernails are better. They were paper thin. Not sure if that is an effect or not.

Water is making me nauseous. WTH?!

I get minor nausea with water. Some days it is worse than others. Try drinking it in the warm side.
  17. I am 3.5 months out. Started out at about 180 and am down to 150 give or take a couple of pounds. Holidays showed me just how easy it is to return to poor eating, grazing habits. Wine, super diluted, has replaced beer, and water has replaced diet pop. I walk a thin line of blowing this wonderful opportunity versus embracing it and the good it will bring me! I still feel hopefull, but am angry with myself for succumbing so easily to bad eating habits.

Talk me down. Talk me down.

Dang! Not knowing your circumstances, I would suggest taking the time you have left at this job to scale back on living expenses and focus on you and weight loss journey. Embrace the unemployment if you are able. Your new body and new found confidence will likely open doors for you that you never thought possible. My wish for you is that this current crisis is, in hindsight, the most awesome thing to ever happen to you and your family. If you have succumbed to ice cream, that's okay. Put the spoon down and run hot water into the carton. Keep being good to you. Congrats on the pound lost!!
