I'm with you Pink. I hop in the scale every day. I waffle two pounds up and down. I'm surprised it isn't more. 9 days until the new year. We can do it. Anyone want to do a 3 day liquid challenge with me starting 1/4? (Got to start on a Monday).

I am glad you are allowing yourself to be happy. I think it's a big struggle for us as a group. For so long we felt miserable about who we were that we got used to it. Our normal was feeling bad and it is hard to change because it was a place we knew how to live in. It's almost like with any other self defeating life style. Like hoarders know it's bad for them but they are comfortable in their misery. I wasn't happy but I was definitely resigned to my role of the invisible fat person in the room. I took crumbs because I felt like I only deserved crumbs. Now I want more out of life. Still not asking for the moon but working on it. After all it is a process.

Oh my gosh what a great result. I am so happy for you. I am waiting a bit because things are still shifting for me. For example my tummy is looking a lot smaller now. Breast lift, I think will have to be a must. No way things are going to defy gravity.
If you don't mind sharing details of your plastic surgery we would love to hear from you. I am sure we would all benefit from any advise or info you have.

Hello everyone, sorry have been so neglectful of this wonderful group, Hope everyone is doing well. I have big news, I got my Tummy Tuck, breast augmentation and a mini arm lift. Thanks to my mother and part of my inheritance. I had it about 5 weeks ago. I will attach a couple pictures. I am still healing and got a ways to go, but damn, having that flap gone is AWESOME!!!
Had my one year followup and my bypass surgeon wanted me to wait, said I might lose another ten pounds. No way, I am feeling too thin now, and can eat enough to maintain my weight, or more honestly, I make sure I eat only enough to maintain my weight, I could eat more, if I wanted/needed to. So went ahead and had the tummy tuck. Bought my first bikini since I was about 6 years old. so HOT DAMN.

I find it interesting that I haven't been sick in over a year. In the past, I would get a cold, then bronchitis, sometime in early Oct. And, then I'd be sick through Spring. I wonder if it is because of our diets and the fact that I take Vitamins, etc.

I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk and it works wonderful. I also add 1 egg white for a little more Protein.
Another idea I do is make PB2 with the almond milk but make it so it is more runny and I pour it over the mug cake....DARN GOOD

PinkPolkadot619 got a reaction from Dub in has anyone found a DR or program you don't have to lose a ton of preweight (newenglad, MA, NH)
    @@viaasskick,
I am sorry you feel these comments are rude. But they are beyond true. The surgery did not save me life, the 6 months of classes I had before did. I can not express enough how much I would pay for each class if I did it all over again. Count it as a privilege that they have the resources to provide these classes and therapist. So many who don't fail and then they went through all of that for what? to end up with more health problems if they had not had the surgery and possibly not loosing any weight.
I know how you feel, I was super pissed that I had to go to classes (that required me to take time off work loosing money and getting up at 4am to not miss too much work) believe me I sacrificed a whole lot to get to where I am. And I will tell you it was worth every part of it. I was angry I had to go to stupid classes and see stupid people, but in the end I was so grateful for them and actually went back to hug and thank my teacher/therapist.
Keep up the hard work, know that it will not be effort lost. take every opportunity to learn more and face your feelings, it is okay to be mad or frustrated.
we speak from experience, we also were in your shoes at one point and wish someone had been maybe a little harsh to help us see what we had.
    Good luck and best wishes.

It isn't rude. You assign a tone of voice when you are reading the comments left.
I don't want anyone to fail at WLS and if that means I don't sugar coat how hard the process is, or how dedicated you need to be or how challenging the journey is, then so be it.
This is a HUGE decision one that is so much more than just losing weight. It is a radical change in a person's life, it is a total turn around from where they have been for many, many years and it never gets easy, just easier.
The program is designed to a. see how dedicated you are to your WLS success, b. prepare you for the dramatic change that occurs, c. give you invaluable resources and d.) keep you focused on your goals. Without it you are setting yourself up for a hard difficult road that will ultimately end in failure.
This is not an EASY solution to a problem. This is not a cure all, a quick fix, a magical means to get skinny. It is going to be one of the most difficult decisions you have ever made for yourself and it deserves everything you have. You have to throw yourself into this decision with all your heart, all your mind and all your body. It is all or nothing.

Threads like the one linked above are classic examples of what is taught in the "stupid" classes.
Sadly, there are posts like this all the time.
The rudeness began with your denouncing the very education that is designed to keep you healthy and prevent acts of stupidity that could hurt you.

My boyfriend and I both can not resist candy and have both worked hard to loose over 100 lbs each. So this year I got Halloween pretzel packs. I also do not think kids need huge bags of candy for weeks and weeks. I don't care if they are happy or not, we can't have it in our home.

congratulations I have had the issue of a few specific people telling me "tell me you are done loosing, you need to stop" This Monday I was just on my PMS horse and ran her butt over! I smiled and said "I am so glad you are my doctor and have made this decision for me" she said " you know what I mean".......I smiled and said "no, I don't. I am under a doctors supervision, I am fine, if I loose more it is fine, and if I don't it is fine, but it will still not be any of your business!"
    I hardly know this woman!!
    thank you for the vent
again congratulations on your goal weight!!!
