PinkPolkadot619 got a reaction from brown eyed gal in OCTOBER 2014
I remember I didn't have time to stress eat before because I would have my planned meal and then go straight out for my walk or run. So now that is what I am doing, filling my time with activities. Yesterday was A 3 mile hike and a 6 mile bike ride and today so far I ran 2 miles during my lunch break. (some one brought macaroons in to work though.....ugh I miss the days of food not even looking good. sign one choice at a time. I made a choice to eat a macaroon but I also made the choice to go run 2 miles. smiles.

    weight watchers is a tool
    sleeve is a tool
    lap band is a tool
    bypass is another tool
Does it REALLY matter which tool we use?
As long as it works for you is all that matters.
I feel MY tool is my sleeve. I tried WW, multiple times, didn't work for me. Others like their band, balloon or bypass....or prefer WW.
Whatever path (tool) someone chooses is their choice. If they fail or succeed it was their decision.
We talk about this all the time here...it's a tool, and how you work it.
It's not a "one size fits all" world.....
    rant over.....

Well the lowest I got was around 162, unfortunately I'm at 172 now. Gotta Gotta get back on track. We've been purging our house of 18 years to live in a camper for 4 months while they build us a new house. Stressful!! We are settled in our camper now and not much stuff to do in there, so hopefully I'll get back on track with exercising and quit the stress eating!

I think you may be right, it's boredom. I could have 10 Snacks in a day. My lowest weight was 152 but this morning I was 168. That's 6 pounds. Well, to be fair I had been at 154/155 for at least two months. Moving all day is key for me. But I somehow can't bring myself to move the way I used to. I'm tired of moving, lol. Don't I sound like I'm 4 years old! Winter was hard, especially this last month. I am hopeful the nice weather will bring a more energetic outlook.
I also need to tone. My shoulders look like they are clothing hangers for my skin. Not the best look for sleeveless summer tops. I may have to wear sleeved shirts forever. I was looking through my closet this morning and surprise, surprise none of my summer stuff from last year (not the big stuff from before) fits. Everything is too big.
Now that 18 months have passed and what is regarded as the "honeymoon period" for our surgery, we will have to work harder at both losing weight and maintenance. This period is very challenging for some, I was told. I am so worried I will put all the weight back. I can't have that happen, not after all we have been through.
We can do this but we have to work at it.
I so feel like a snack right now but I am going to make some tea instead.

We are all doing so well. I think we MUST always remember (even though its hard to ever be satisfied) where we were and were we are. a 100lbs lost is nothing to sneeze at. It takes true grit to do what we did. It still takes grit to keep going, right?

    @@viaasskick,
I am sorry you feel these comments are rude. But they are beyond true. The surgery did not save me life, the 6 months of classes I had before did. I can not express enough how much I would pay for each class if I did it all over again. Count it as a privilege that they have the resources to provide these classes and therapist. So many who don't fail and then they went through all of that for what? to end up with more health problems if they had not had the surgery and possibly not loosing any weight.
I know how you feel, I was super pissed that I had to go to classes (that required me to take time off work loosing money and getting up at 4am to not miss too much work) believe me I sacrificed a whole lot to get to where I am. And I will tell you it was worth every part of it. I was angry I had to go to stupid classes and see stupid people, but in the end I was so grateful for them and actually went back to hug and thank my teacher/therapist.
Keep up the hard work, know that it will not be effort lost. take every opportunity to learn more and face your feelings, it is okay to be mad or frustrated.
we speak from experience, we also were in your shoes at one point and wish someone had been maybe a little harsh to help us see what we had.
    Good luck and best wishes.

Yeah I was super worried about it, and stressed myself out for a month.....all for nothing.
I will tell you I was not happy about the classes, and had an attitude. But they are more valuable than you will ever know!! they were an honest gift, I am so much more knowledgeable about my body and the process because of it and am so thankful for them. Yes it is a huge commitment, but I believe it is why I have been so successful.

Hi, I am 17 months post op, San Diego Kaiser. I am also the founder and admin of the San Diego Kaiser support group page, and often speak in the options classes.
Yes Kaiser does require the 6 months of options classes, during the classes they ask that you try and loose %10 of your body weight. The paperwork said they needed documentation of supervised weight loss program, but I was never asked to show prof.
Please feel free to ask me any questions and join the FB group. my email is, pinkpolkadot619_rny_kendra@yahoo.com

Yes, @PinkPolkadot619 having a trainer has helped immeasurably. Just be sure you get one who listens to you and whose approach and knowledge you can respect. I'll bet you can tell from the first get-to-know session. Mine knows I'm really wanting to lose weight, and so has finally convinced me that for my history and metabolism I need to be more consistent with my macros as well as getting to the gym 4 times a week if possible, but 3 times a week without fail. It's actually working, albeit slowly.
@@CowgirlJane I'm really sorry you've got a kidney stone - ouch. I know from your posts that you're really active so I imagine this makes it much harder. Hope it's over soon! You are so right about getting on a gain right away - I wish I'd done that when it started to creep up, and done it more reasonably. I tried to go 'drastic' - like back to original post op diet - and that made me more susceptible to going headlong off plan more than I might have.
And like so many have said, @hjtj112, - we ARE getting on it now, and that's what counts, and this time we aren't starting from 268 lbs (289 in my case) either. Give yourself an 'attagirl' for that one!

It's pretty good. I have only 1 servings not the whole container. My favorite is Artic Zero. both brands need to me microwaved for 20-30 seconds to soften up but very yummy, and are a good alterative to full blown sugar and fat of ice cream.

I'm almost six years out. Lost 100 reached goal in 7 mo. Kept off about 3 years. Regained 27 lbs. lost it with 5:2 intermittent fasting and very clean eating. Kept that off another two. Now have lost 18 since Jan of the same 25 regain. . It can be done. I'm on 1000 a day low carb with two day lower around 500-700 cal. If I eat more than 1350 a day I WILL gain. My problem is junk!! It CAN be done and pretty easily once you start losing again but you have to be really really conscious of what goes into your mouth and When. try to give yourself at least 12-16 hours after last meal of day and the first of next.

I'm feeling the same way. I went on liquids for a little while and lost a few lbs, but they came right back. I am now up like 8 pounds and it won't stop. I am trying to not freak out. I know my eating is not perfect but it is also not horrible. I am not working out like I was, so I guess that is why the pounds are coming back. It is so hard to get re motivated to get going. I have perfect weather too, it just needs to be my decision to get out and go. Thank you all for sharing your struggles, knowing I am not alone helps me a lot. I know we all can do this, this can and will be a life long healthy life.

Hi all I am doing ok. Finally got a work out in yesterday. I too can eat whatever I want. Sometimes I eat way more then I think I should at a serving. Still drinking a Protein Shake everyday. I feel fat at times but my husband says it's all in my head because I am not. But I have gained some weight I can tell in my pants. I have been traveling alot so I think I make bad food choices because it's readily available. Weather has been rough this year & it has kept me lazy. Lol Going on a cruise on 2/19. I hope I don't over do it with all that food on the ship. Nice touching base. Y'all have a great day!
