  1. Yes we are!!

Yesterday I got a salad kit and chicken then weighed out each ingredient to 7 portions (the package said it had 7 portions)

I made 5 pre made lunches and then lunch for my boyfriend and I

so for lunch his week I have a portion of salad, and 3oz of chicken.< /p>

For me it has not completely been lunch choices it has been grazing from lunch to dinner.

So for today my goal is to go back to the basics and not snack. If I want a snack I will brought with me almonds.

Breakfast 6:30a: 30g protein-shake (made in to my warm premier Protein peppermint mocha)

    at least 16oz of fluids

Lunch 10:30-11ish: 25g protein- 3oz costco chicken and wild greens & quinoa salad

    at least 16oz of fluids

snack 3:00: 30g of protein- same shake as Breakfast

    more fluids

dinner 7:00: 19g protein- Tuscan white bean stew with added shredded chicken

after dinner snack 8:30-9:00: 6g protein- artic zero (most amazing stuff ever! 30 seconds in the microwave it is creamy like ice cream)

This is basically what I was doing once on solid foods after surgery. I was never upset or felt deprived. Why my mind has me flipping out is only one thing. Sugar, the addiction is so real it scares me.

Thank you all for sharing your journey with me, I founded a local support group on Facebook but people often don't think I don't have the same struggles or most of the members are newbies. People look to me to be the expert and the remodel, it can be very stressful. This group has been a saving grace for me!

    Love you all Gladiators!

  2. good job!!! I have not been successful :-/

Status of my 3 day liquid (ish) diet... It has been fairly easy so far.... Protein Shake for breakfast. The weight watcher veg Soup w chicken and white Beans for lunch and dinner. Snacks included yogurt, herbal teas and I needed a Protein bar yesterday afternoon before a big meeting. But all in all, it has been a success and has helped with some of the bloating from holiday eating. Tomorrow I'll integrate other protein. But so far, doing good without carbs (ie bread).

  3. Thank you all for sharing your struggles. I know we can all do this. Loving our bodies and choosing to take care of them will be done. One choice and one step at a time. Thank you all for your support, and I can't wait to see what new fun ways we learn to love our bodies.

  4. as soon as I stopped using myfitness pal religiously is when junk started sneaking in and then becoming more and more.

Yes I agree we need accountability!! I am completely down to do a 3 day challenge. I know I need to rid my diet of the extra sugar. I hate feeling controlled by it again!!

  5. The holiday sweets are hard and then my car broke down and I need to buy an new one, and then my boyfriend got a flat tire, now my period is here......... I'm not going to lie, yes I have Quest bars but I really want a damn cookie....... I sometimes feel like I am physically fighting the sugar sweets desires.

  6. This holiday season is really really hard!! Sugar has been able to creep back in and that crap is like the worst drug ever!! I know my body does not need or want it, I do not want it, but my body craves it!! I miss the restriction and limitation that I had last year. Last year I could care less about any of it! this year......sigh not so much.

are any of you having this issue?

  7. Do you think you can substitute another liquid say soy milk, regular milk, nut milks?

give it a shot. I use the non dairy as a sugar free method, but heck give it a shot,

I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk and it works wonderful. I also add 1 egg white for a little more Protein.

Another idea I do is make PB2 with the almond milk but make it so it is more runny and I pour it over the mug cake....DARN GOOD

  8. Rog,

Thanks for quoting all that. Really appreciate it.

However, those findings don't identify or even hypothesize *why* weight loss ends and weight stabilizes after 18 months.

My own (untested) hypothesis would be that it's due to a combination of these factors:

    * Weight has lowered to the point where the amount of food eaten is at the maintenance level for that weight.

    * People get bored around 18 months with their high-Protein diets and start nibbling or eating higher calorie foods.

    * Or something else.

I will offer this -- I've been eating 1700 calories on average for months and months, while still losing 1-2 pounds a month for nearly 6 months. And now around 139-140 my weight is finally holding steady. I've weighed 140 for the last 4 Monday mornings. So I think I've finally found my maintenance level. (Of course, that's the level for the amount of exercise I'm doing now.)

Jeez ... this is just one long old science experiment!

I am at the same point but I can maintain 135-140 at 1100-1200 calories any more and I gain........there in not exact formula, we are all so different.

  9. @@Bronxmerci

Oh sweetheart I am so sorry. I have fear too, I know I just have to make good decisions and eat things that nourish me and not harm me. Some days the decisions are easy and others they are much harder.

I know I have already discussed my fear of weight gain when I am ready to start having babies with my friend and boyfriend. I know I am not ready to face that yet. Please continue to reach out to us. You can do this, you can be healthy and gain weight. food does not equal weight gain and weight gain does not equal fat. Pregnancy needs food for nutrients and needs weight gain for health. There is healthy weight gain :-) I know it scares me and I can't imagine how you feel but one day at a time girl.

  10. @@viaasskick,

I am sorry you feel these comments are rude. But they are beyond true. The surgery did not save me life, the 6 months of classes I had before did. I can not express enough how much I would pay for each class if I did it all over again. Count it as a privilege that they have the resources to provide these classes and therapist. So many who don't fail and then they went through all of that for what? to end up with more health problems if they had not had the surgery and possibly not loosing any weight.

I know how you feel, I was super pissed that I had to go to classes (that required me to take time off work loosing money and getting up at 4am to not miss too much work) believe me I sacrificed a whole lot to get to where I am. And I will tell you it was worth every part of it. I was angry I had to go to stupid classes and see stupid people, but in the end I was so grateful for them and actually went back to hug and thank my teacher/therapist.

Keep up the hard work, know that it will not be effort lost. take every opportunity to learn more and face your feelings, it is okay to be mad or frustrated.

we speak from experience, we also were in your shoes at one point and wish someone had been maybe a little harsh to help us see what we had.

    Good luck and best wishes.
