    anyone with a march date?

First 48 hours seemed like hell. Couldn't get comfy to sleep very well etc. Should be discharged this morning after the barium swallow.

Did you experience nausea When walking?

    Who is in March?

Surgery was yesterday! Great deal of pain first 24 hours. When tried walking I would get nausea really bad. So they upped the nausea meds overnight. The gases aren't passing too well so there will be more walking today. Glad the surgery part is over! Onto healing! Hopefully I'll be home tomorrow. .

    Wait... Why all the revisions??!?!?
  6. It's curious if anyone did a colonic before surgery? I want to ask my dr. but sometimes eastern medicine frowns upon western medicine.

Anyone do a hydrotherap colonic before?

My dr. Highly recommended I not do this before surgery.
  10. Am I crazy? I am pretty sure I haven't had a normal movement since my last full solids meal. Has this happened to anyone else and how can I fix this with only liquids? I'm on Day 8 of liquids. FYI. For my Dr - liquids also include Greek yogurt and soupy oatmeal etc.

    Pre op liquids = constipation?

It's strange but I'm going to call them today and ask too. Also extremely gassy. Ugh.
  12. Having the sleeve done in 1 week. First and foremost it's for a better healthy future for me. But secondly, we have tried for 6 years to conceive. I look forward to this happening in the future due to the weight loss.

Anyone do a hydrotherap colonic before?

It's a form of a colon cleanse but with instant results and improvement of the digestion track.

Let's see... HW: 370+ Pre - op appt: 341 CW: 336 liquids are easiest in morning/day time. Nights seem to get challenging but so far so good!

    anyone with a march date?

3/18 for me also in liquid diet. I find if I keep reminding myself that this is helpful to have a less complicated surgery by detoxing the liver... Hang in there!
  16. Day 5 of liquid pre op diet and I'm so exhausted. I'm doing ok sticking to liquids but I'm completely exhausted. I fell asleep mid afternoon! (Not like me) Anyone else experience this PRE op??

Anyone else exp. exhaustion on liquids?

I actually have been doing no sugar or carbs for a while but I feel like the continual liquids and less protein options are making me sleepy!

    Anxiety and getting sleeved

Same here! 12 days and I can't sleep every night! Ugh!

Surgeon has only done 26 sleeves

Hmm ok My surgeon has done 22 sleeves and over 1000 lap bands. He has a 100% success rate so far with sleeves. Where it's considered the newer surgery, I actually found bariatric surgeons not having extensive experience. TRUST ME , I've been worried - but I'm far more concerned about my weight/health. He's had high success with the other bariatric surgeries. He's the head of the Surgical Weight Loss Specialist of Mass. Do your research and talk with some of his sleeve patients. Today was my pre op and he offered to connect me with some of his first patients.

    Who is in March?

Had my pre op today. 21 pounds down but he decided he wants my liquid diet to start tomorrow vs this weekend. That's a big of a mental shock but this journey requires flexibility. What I learned today: * my surgeon doesn't use drains * no binding * no "clear liquids" stage * 2 weeks pre op AND 2 weeks post op = liquids (including yogurts, oatmeal, blended soups) * staples removed after 2 weeks * surgeon was kind enough to prescribe Adavan for any anxiety night before / morning of. So my point is - every surgeon has their own protocol.. I guess no two patients are alike or surgeons! Yikes, here we go liquids.
  24. I'm 15 days away from my sleeve surgery. I'm a planner so I like everything in order, in advance. I'm making various stocks and freezing them in these awesome portion zip locks I got from Walmart. They are 1c. bags so I can track how much I'm using. I refuse to use bouillon cubes for liquids. I've got beef and chicken stock so far. How are you prepping for surgery ?

You aren't alone. I'm just doing prep stuff to keep myself busy. Where do you live?
