  1. Rough weekend - working in the hotel industry and working double shifts/staying over makes it extremely difficult to sleep and get the healthy choices I am able to make at home. Back to healthier decisions!

More prayers for you Hon, my oldest did that as a second job for 3 years. Thank the good Lord that is no longer necessary. You just keep making those good choices and keep your eye on the goal.

For me it is the type of tuna. Try Albacore packed in water by Starkist. I can eat that plain, but a little lemon juice or lemon pepper is good too. Drain and rinse. Also if tuna is not for you try baked or broiled Orange Roughy. Best fish I ever tasted with a little Tony's seasoning,

I love tuna, but had only eaten canned tuna all my life. A few years ago I tried fresh caught tuna off the grill. Beyond delicious ! Buy yourself a small piece at your local fish place, and grill it up. You'll never know until you try it !

I will definitely try those ideas! I love fish, so it makes me want to naturally like tuna too

Anddddd here come the worries ....

@@Jonathan Blue - you are awesome!!! I read that post in your blog and it honestly did inspire some presurgery ideas. I also find it astonishing that you lost a whopping 200+lbs in a year!!! This makes me very excited for my own surgery and my own continued journey -- thank you for that

@@CowgirlJane - I find you to be an amazing role model. Before my information session in September, it was you who told me to rethink the lap band surgery and why. I'm glad I went into that session with a newly opened mind because I am now going for the gastric sleeve and not looking back! I actually mentioned you recently to a family member as to how inspiring you are and how many great things I've noticed you do now - including the dance lessons! It's because of you I know that there is definitely a whole new life at the end of this tunnel.... the surgery will only be the beginning

@@Roo101769 - Thank you. It's so great coming to this site and seeing people who truly just get it! I have always disliked the term BBW because it was always associated with such negativity. I understand fully what you mean about the only into the physical but wouldn't actually ask you out. It's fine behind closed doors- but we're an embarrassment out in public... I commend you for being a single mom. It's tough. I feel like I'm doing it now anyway. There's a lot that goes into it, on top of trying to make a living to keep you both surviving. You've done amazing thus far - I hope I can follow suit!

  14. @@Lizzie125 - I wish I could LIKE your post 20 more times!! Dec 11th here too!! I started over a month ago drinking Protein shakes for breakfast every morning. They are definitely solid enough to hold over my hunger for a few hours. I wasn't a fan of the CVS powder or the Muscle Milk - and Premier Protein shakes and Pure Protein Shakes taste pretty good for how inexpensive they are. Just went to a few websites and bought variety packs and individual powder packets to start trying them now along with one of those special shaker bottles to see if it really helps de-clumping. Haven't figured out how to incorporate the powder into my other drinks and food yet.... but this is so exciting!!

ive had apnea for years I even had a very painful and problematic surgery called a UPPP, stands for uvulo-paleto-pharangeal-plasty don't ask. But because of nasal problems, and a horrible claustrophobia, I cant use a cpap machine. So I do have the head of my bed up a bit )( I bought an adjustable bed) which does help a lot! cpap is great for people who can use it.

  21. Kind of frustrated these past 2 weeks. I was doing great, with an amazing momentum, and here I am, stuck at the same weight for almost 2 weeks. So frustrating!!!!!!! I lost 11 lbs since August 29th, and I have noticed the difference in my energy and attitude, as well as my clothes fitting a little looser. But nothing in 2 weeks?? Sigh, it's not making me want to change my mind with this or anything, or even revert back to my poor eating habits. It just makes me wonder if I am doing something wrong. Maybe I didn't eat enough? Maybe I have to cut out this reduced fat cheese/yogurt cheese? I know I'm moving around enough, because I'm lucky if I get a break or chance to sleep. I don't know - just one of those "beat myself up" days.

    Any sleevers in Northern NJ?

Hello! I'm up in the Verona area, still working with Dr Paragi in west orange... looking forward to getting my surgery date soon :-) congrats on your surgeries!
  23. I've had family and friends tell me it's great I have looked into this for 2 years and am willing to put the work into this band surgery - but then I get the ridiculous questions of why I can't just drop the 200lbs all by myself, or if I am doing it to leave my fiance afterwards once I gain confidence back, or have I heard about all these family friends who totally went against their post-op instructions and either had the sleeve rupture, gained more weight (she is a drinker), or the one who just threw up all the time and had it removed. I am losing confidence in my support system, but all the research and reading and information I keep finding is pushing me in the direction of a healthy lifestyle for myself and for my little girl. She deserves my time, energy and a long life with me. It's just so FRUSTRATING!! Other people's inability to follow direction is not going to be my issue. But I do want to know that I'm not going to be looked down on for "taking the easy way out" or because it seems like I just want to make myself good enough to skip out on my life.
  24. @@sugar free - I'm so sorry I didn't see this sooner! I hope you got a bunch of information at your first appointment - there's a journey ahead! A bunch of tests, but once they are all over - you'll be in shock at how much you accomplished - I know I am!
