sorry for your loss Shell. If you have to stay online with us to help you overcome temptation, don't hesitate. I'm sure you are worried about the food explosion awaiting you. We Jews do the same thing when there's a death. It's food galore. Surprising how grief makes everyone so darn hungry, right?

My condolence s on your loss. Hang in there, try not to deal with the situation with alot of food, try going for a walk, talking with somebody etc. Thinking of you !!

Thank you guys! It was my aunt-in-law, and I thought us Italians overdo the food? South-born African American families do it big! lol.... I stuck with meatballs and green beans... though the fried chicken and bricks of macaroni and cheese smelled amazing

  2. So you can get the whole thing down???? Thats what I was wondering and worried about.... whether or not we can actually get in that much liquid at a time
  3. Sweet!!! That is pure luck!! That's actually my last day of solids lol! Do you make a full shake and just refrigerate for the rest of the day to take it in periodically? I'm wondering if I should go grab some small tubberware for easy shake making
  4. @@Elode I like when healthy food actually tastes yummy lol.... Let me know how long it takes for the pureed, soft and real food stages!!!

    Fast forward to post-op.....

I had another moment today that made me think - I want to wear a pair of pants or leggings and NOT have the inner thighs wear out quick from all the friction....

    Thursdays positive post!

Haha thanks - I had a philosophical moment after doing some mass healthy cooking (frozen meals, though healthy = hubby won't go hungry starting next week lol)

@@bobbyswife good one!!!! I am thankful to learn who I am as a person emotionally and spiritually before learning who I will be physically. I'm beautiful - now to make the binding of the book look like the pages. I am thankful for learning to know a person for so much more than the outer appearance and for looking for friends and a lover for who they are internally, and if the external is nice looking, then yay me! lol I am also thankful for the obese me learning how to be tough. When you are overweight, you have to learn how to have a thick skin and how to take care of yourself when things get emotionally out of control. If it weren't for me being heavy - I don't think I'd be the tough chick who stands tall and can make it through the insanity I live in daily.
  9. chicken sausage for me lol.... I've been told no pork - and no steak.... and no chicken skin.... just no lol

  11. Hi everyone!!! So while I'm out of work until Dec 11th surgery, I have a lot of time to plan and get myself and hubby prepared for post surgery. One thing I'm getting ready for next week (Friday I start pre-op diet) is the shopping list! I'm trying to make sure I do not forget a single thing - so I need your help. What did you make sure you had for pre-op/post-op diets? What did you need definitely in the hospital that you couldn't do without for the 2 days?

  16. Awww I am loving this post!!! I am thankful to @@CowgirlJane - if it wasn't for her in the beginning, I don't know if I would have had the courage to go for the sleeve rather than lapband.... she's also an amazing inspiration - girl you look good!!!! @@Mami5Boys for reassuring me about our doctor and being so informative about the surgery and steps. (Congrats on the recent surgery btw!) and of course @@bobbyswife - only 3-4 more weeks for both of us! Thanks for joining me on my daily rants and expeditions!
  17. @@pinkbunies I hope things have gotten better in the past 2 weeks. I have all these issues before the surgery, so this is making me wonder if getting the surgery will just amplify it all.... He worries already that I will leave.... fights about our daughter, money, how he makes more than I do (I work more hours so it comes out almost equal).... We also have the major differences of race and religion and how we were both respectively raised.... Those seem to come up the most. His family obviously doesn't like me - haven't for the past 3 years... but I continue trying for my daughter's sake. There's no ring, no piece of paper.... just a joint leased apartment and a little girl with his features, my skin color, and my personality....

    Sex...

I'm hoping I get some sort of desire for sex back.... 3 weeks until surgery and I've had sex maybe twice in the past 3 weeks.....
  19. Shell88

    Fast forward to post-op.....

I know for myself, surgery will::: 1. Create less back pain and make it easier to bend and lift my daughter. 2. Take so much pressure off of my knees and help me prevent any further dislocations 3. Allow me to stand at work for the 8hrs a day without my feet hurting so much under the heaviness. 4. Let me walk up a flight or 2 of stairs and not be out of breath at the end. 5. Take away my issues breathing and sleep apnea. 6. Make it easier to run after an almost 2 year old 7. Cause less problems trying to give my daughter a bath and getting myself up and down from kneeling next to the bath tub 8. Give me the chance to go on theme park rides with my baby and not worry about not fitting on the ride and being asked to get off. 9. Bring back my confidence in wearing a bathing suit when my daughter wants to go in the sprinklers or pool and not make me feel super self conscience. 10. Force me to NOT identify with my weight. I will not always be heavy, big, fat..... I am me, and the weight doesn't own me. I am not my weight and the weight will go away!

    2. Shell88

      Shell88

My dr wants me to keep the immobilizer on, and to do everything I can to not stand on it for too long or put pressure on it. He said 3 weeks should be good for the brace, then physical therapy..... he told me the sleeve surgery in 3 weeks will be a godsend and take away the weight that keeps reinjuring my knee

  25. Told me doctor that I'm getting this surgery done before I dislocate my knee again from all the weight..... 2 hours later? Dislocate my knee and I'm out of work 3 weeks before surgery. Ouch.
