    OCTOBER 2014

I had my surgery last Monday, Oct. 27 and tomorrow, I head back to work! I had to ask my doctor to release me. He had no reason not to since I'm getting my fluids, my Proteins and have had no pain since day 3. I feel very, very blessed. I DID, however, make a major boo boo and tried to eat some soft stuffing with gravy, wayyyyyyy too soon and paid for it. I had a stomach ache for over an hour. I won't do that again. I needed that reminder that even though I feel well, it's because I'm following the rules. One step off the path and I quickly was reminded WHY they give us a diet to follow! LOL I'm pleased with the weight I'm losing and hope this rate continues at least for a little while longer. I'm so sorry for those of you whom have had such a tough time It's hard to Celebrate our journey to a healthier new self when you are having such horrible set backs. It too, shall pass and You'll be happy you moved forward. Be strong!

    October Surgery Date

I had my surgery Monday, Oct. 27th and other than pulling my IV out the second day, everything has gone as smoothly as it possibly could! I feel VERY Blessed that I've had NO nausea, am able to get my fluids in and was able to go home yesterday. I feel almost perfectly normal except for the annoying drain that I keep having to change the bandaging on but that's normal they say and should stop soon. I'm even contemplating going back to work Monday. I have a job where I can do some light duty stuff until I'm ready to return to my regular job. I pray everyone is having as smooth a transition as I am...BUT...the doc told me to not get 'too comfortable'....I DID just have major surgery and things can crop up days later (like some minor pain or nausea). I'm just grateful to be doing so well Thanks for all the well wishes!! I've actually gained 3 pounds but I think it's from all the fluids in the hospital. I can't wait til things settle in and I can see where I really am

I'm so envious of all of you whom have had your surgeries already but I'm also glad that I'm one of the 'last' for October so I can see how everyone else is handling it! lol I'm nervous, excited, scared, happy...all of the emotions i'm sure you all went through too. I can't wait until Monday!!!!

@@amylynns , Good luck tomorrow! You're going to do great On a side note, I screwed up big time tonight. I went shopping with my girls and thought I could handle dinner out and I caved. I totally caved and ate 'real' food. I'm so scared I have messed up my surgery date by doing this. I was 6 days on my liquid diet and doing great, then this! I just hope I can be diligent and salvage what's left of my liquid diet over the next 7 days...

Hi everyone, Day 6 of the liquid diet and so far, so good. I'm already struggling to get in all my water...I just 'forget' to drink it until it's too late in the day and I don't want to be up all night running back and forth to the bathroom! I saw a few of you saying you were suffering from headaches on the liquid diet. It might be a ketosis headache. When I did Medifast, it's a high Protein, low carb diet and it work on the premise that your body goes into ketosis about 3-5 days into the diet (very similar to what we're doing) and speeds up the fat burning process. But until it does so, you can get a headache and be very lethargic then one day, bam! you feel better. My surgery is next MOnday and I keep thinking of a 100 things I want to get done before then; I know they're not going to all get done. LOL SO great reading everyone's story here. I work alot so hard to keep up with everyone but I sure am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers as you face surgery and post surgery!

    Time off work?

I'm hoping to only need two weeks off. It will be unpaid so I can't afford even that, really. I work in a factory and do QA work but there is some lifting of up to 25 pounds....I'll try to keep to the easier work.

    October Surgery Date

Hi! I just joined this site and have been through all the pre-op stuff and have a surgery date of Oct. 27th!! I'm currently on the liquid diet and so afraid I'm going to eat/drink the wrong thing and my liver won't shrink enough! lol I am SOO happy to see others having theirs done around the same time as me. I just don't know what to expect pain wise or recovery wise. I guess I'll keep reading the forums and asking questions
