Be strong and love yourself, you're beautiful and he knows it. He sounds like someone with self esteem issues and he's lashing out because he's afraid he's going to lose you. Don't allow him to bring you down and don't let your kids think this is how a.man should talk to a lady.

I have to agree with Belladonna723. You are the **** and he is acting like a douche. I can understand how someone going through the changes we all go through could bring up some odd feelings in one's significant other, but as a man his comments to you offend me. They show a complete lack of respect for you and a desire to just keep you down. I'm not one to tell people how to live their life, but you deserve better! Hopefully he can come around and treat you better. If not, then do whatever is best for you as you deserve so much more than that kind of treatment.

I agree he probably can't imagine what it's like for you. Try not to fault him too much for this -- there will forever be people in your life who will test your resistance but don't necessarily have ill intentions. Besides, he's known you forever and chocolates & McD's always made you happy in the past I'd bet.....guys tend to try to stick with what works, not necessarily what is logical :/ Bless their hearts He's got to learn that you are changing your entire approach to food & doing what is healthy. It has been a big change for my husband to deal with too....
When someone gifts me food that's not healthy, I say either to them or to myself "I don't want that" instead of "I can't have that", and I find that kind of thinking helps me feel strong.
You could just say "thanks for the chocolates....did I mention I've lost 49 lbs??!?!?" or "Yeah.....McD's is crap food really, and I don't want it....and did I mention I've lost 49 lbs??!??!" and smile like a lunatic!

I know she is your sister, so this is going to be very hard advice to take... but it is the truth. While it feels VERY personal, her comments have NOTHING to do with you. Nothing. Nada. Zippo. This is entirely about her insecurity and her issues. When I encounter people in my life like this, I treat them like they are sick-- I have compassion for them, but do not take anything they say to heart-- because they are clearly not in their right mind. It works for me-- and keeps me from taking what they say personally. Keep doing you. Peace.

I'm having mine with Dr. Tichansky at Jefferson. I've heard very good things about HUP too!

If you really feel that unsatisfied file a complaint with the better business bureau. They at a minimum owe you an explanation.
By the way you might be able to save some money if you buy a plan off of the exchange that covers wls. You'll still likely have out of pocket expenses but you're getting an insurance contract discount which sometimes can be less than a self pay discount

I'll be having surgery in Philly (hup) in March too.

My mom had bypass 5 years ago and lost weight quickly. All my friends said they thought she looked better heavier, but i think it was just because of the loose skin on her face and neck. She just turned 48 and her skin has tightened up a lot from what it was and no one thinks she's pushing 50! If she did use any serums or lotions it would have been from Walmart and probably generic brand because that is how my mom rolls.

When you realize that the strange feeling you noticed driving over to the gym was your sports bra slipping up over your new, smaller breasts! Hee hee!

I was shopping at a local boutique this morning and decided to try a few dresses for some upcoming parties & showers.
I pointed to one "that's cute."
The woman grabbed me a small.
"Um, size what?? For who?? Me??"
"I'll get you a medium, but you are definitely a small."
....Yeah lady, you're on crack ..... And I fit and bought the size small dress. Holy s#*t!

I recently had my 6 month check-up and I am 75 pounds down but more importantly my blood test results are those of an incredibly healthy person! Between the Sleeve and my fitness pal, I am in control of my health for the very first time. My boyfriend is in bed dealing with the plague while I, also infected, have barely a sniffle!

I've only shared with my husband & daughter for now, they're both supportive, my husband is a little nervous about surgery but he hasn't tried to talk me out of it. I recently told my supervisor & director just to give them a heads up that I'd be taking time off, they were both very supportive. Other than that I don't plan to really share too much info until after surgery. I'm still coming to terms with it myself I dont really want to negativity and judgement right now.

The below picture is what I looked like at my highest of 418 and where I am as of last night at 219. I showed this picture to my 3 year old daughter last night and asked her who the guy on the left is. Naturally she said "thats daddy". I asked her who is the guy on the right and she said "I dunno who is it?" She genuinely did not recognize that as me.
Folks that right there is why I had this surgery. I did not want my daughter to know the fat unhealthy me. And guess what I accomplished it. This was a huge win for me in this journey and it mad me very happy.

I'll be scheduling my surgery in a couple weeks, the doctor says sometime in March.
I'm actually testing out Protein drinks. I have a spreadsheet going with all the different drinks, their Protein, calories, carbs etc.
So far I really like the Muscle Milk
Tried Pure Protein.... eh... it wasn't great but I could drink it if I absolutely had to.
Tried Premier Protein, it has a little more protein than Muscle Milk and it was pretty good.
I've been hearing lots of great things about Syntrax Nectars, BJBariatrics.com sells sample packs that I'll be ordering.
I've also heard people rave about unjury. They sell a starter kit that comes with a shaker and thermometer, Defintely trying this too.

Hi GG & everyone! I just joined this site too today, just browsing and saw your post. I'm pre-op don't have a scheduled surgery yet, my doctor is shooting for March. We'll be scheduling at my next appt on the 20th of Feb.
