The site is an awesome idea! You should set up a Facebook page, and start a gathering from that as well. I have never seen a weight loss dating site before. I am now single now and currently on OkCupid which is not a bad site. I am just chose to be upfront with most of the people I talk to or go on dates. I have meet a lot of bariatric patients on that site as well. I would do some research on how to market it through Facebook and also various other social media sites.

Stalls and I have a long standing relationship of hate. I think everybody hates stalls but they come and go which is very normal. During this time your body is rearranging things and sometimes you lose inches rather than fat. I would just keep all the good work you are doing it shall pass soon enough. On Oct. 20th I will be a month away from being a year out and I have hit yet another stall. It drives me insane every time. Good luck!

Hi! Here are my images. I started at 397 and I am now 261 working towards that first goal of 250 which is only 11 pounds away. I am hoping I will be at least close to my over all goal in three months which is to weigh 200! So far this journey has been a roller coaster but so worth it! You all look amazing! Keep up the hard work!!

KayleeC14 got a reaction from SparkleCat in Rumbly Stomach...Why?
So, when we had our surgeries the portion that was taken out contained the hormone called Ghrelin. After time Ghrelin will come back, doctors have not figured out why right after surgery and the months following it stops. It comes back, so this Ghrelin is that gurgling sound you hear. So, basically when your stomach is empty this hormone takes action triggering your stomach to growl and to trigger you to eat. Soon as the stomach is stretched and full, the secretion of this hormone stops. This hormone is found in the same cells in your brain as leptin. The sleeve surgery cuts 60% of Ghrelin levels in the long term. The bypass however after stabilization patients will regain the Ghrelin levels they have lost. Thats because with the bypass you still technically have your stomach and with the sleeve you loose 85% of it. I work part time in a primary doctors office and my doc just told me all this when I asked. I am just a few days from being a year out and my tummy grumbles more than it did just after surgery. Which I ignore and drink my Water because I know my snack or meal time isn't that time.

I shave regularly, if I don't the hair grows back like a Chia Pet..lol Also what helps with the bumps is coochy cream from Pure Romance. Also side note on that stuff it works as good hair conditioner as well.

KayleeC14 reacted to RJ'S/beginning in To the man that has stood beside me through all of this!
37 years today I married my husband Roy. He has stood beside me through everything I have experienced in this world. The good days the bad. The good times and not so good times. The heavy times and the thin times. And just when I thought it could not get any worse. He stood beside me through the last 14 years of hell with my mental health as well as my physical health.
I want to thank him for the last two years mostly as I have tested his strength and love more then any woman should. But he was there almost every day accept 4 or 5 at my bed side encouraging me to move forward. 5.5 months he came and held my hand, rubbed my feet and combed my hair. He had a regular routine he did to help me get through it all. He kept the extreme Hair loss from me so that I would not know how bad it all was. He even read me Moby d**k. Which I had read before but did not tell him....lol The staff at the hospital said they had never seen a man like him. I am sure they are out there and if you are then the woman who has your love is fortunate to be sure.
He cried with me. Smiled with me and never let me think I would not make it. For this I am truly thankful. He made me fall in love with him all over again. As I continue to fight the many complications I can see the pride in his face when people say nice things to me. I have seen him break down in tears as he relives the last 2 years. And I have seen the worry he shows for the next upcoming procedure.
Last night he told me not to worry that this was a positive surgery. One that will make things better for me....I love him for thinking that and never giving up.
Thank you and much love your way!

What I really loved to do when I was in the puree stage and because I love Mexican food was take low fat and low sodium refried Beans, canned chicken and taco seasoning and mix it up and heat it. Then I would put some low fat shredded cheese and low fat sour cream on it then put it on some melba toast. To me that was heaven at work. My mom made me some turkey in a crock pot and then made some mashed potatoes with Protein powder for my mock thanksgiving dinner because I couldn't eat solids for thanksgiving last year. It was pretty tasty alternative to the all liquids I was sucking down.

I am a month away from being a year out and I go through days and weeks to which I do not want to eat anything because I am not hungry. Then I reach days and weeks where all I want is either junk food. I am still trying to find a middle.

Been awhile since anyone posted here. I also participated in the Sparrow Weight Management program. I also did three tours of Optifast through them - lost 50-70 lbs each time only to regain it all and more back.
This time I looked into the bariatric program thinking there was no way I would follow through. However, I'm SO glad I did!!! Best thing I've ever done for myself. Did some research into Dr. Mindy Lane and the results came back very favorably. She was head-hunted to become the director of the program for Sparrow hospital and had glowing reviews. So imagine my disappointment when I was assigned to the other surgeon on staff for bariatric?
However, I couldn't be more thrilled with my surgeon. His name is Dr. Kosisochi Obinwanne. He's got great bedside manner. Made me feel I wasn't just a number or that next patient on the list. He was funny, approachable and listened to my questions. Just wanted to throw that out there for anyone considering Sparrow. So far, my experience over the years has been one to recommend.

Part 2 of the lesson is that I go out well groomed most of the time. I have a professional career and have always believed that obese people need to dress just a bit sharper because clothes look better on skinny people. I had no make up on, I had fluffed my helmet hair a bit, my jeans were a little baggy and dirty and I was wearing a button up shirt over a tank, and cowboy boots. I was not cleaned up in the least.

I wonder sometimes if I look a bit "too much" at times combined with a certain aloofness toward men (self protection idea that I thin bikerchick mentioned on a another thread) that makes strangers say stuff like "your hot" but never ask me out.

Reality is I am a horse back riding, hiking, boating, traveling kinda woman who is active and all that...I am rethinking how I dress even when I go out dancing etc....to just be more casual.

A lady I know from the meetup (where I go dancing and happy hours etc with) and I had a long top about looks and perceptions. Example, one lady in our group is hugely tatooed and some guys decide she is an easy woman (what a stupid dated notion) and she is actually holding out for a long term. Feedback she gave me is that I often dress "hard edged" when going out but reality is that I am friendly, sweet and social...and have never even dated one of the guys from the meet up. Her advice was to switch to flowing feminine clothes as a social experiment as I stand out in the crowd now. Compared to the average woman in the group I have a hotter bod (no middle age gut and thanks to fitness and plastics a more youthful looking body than many even younger than me) and by wearing harder edge clothing combined with my rock and roll hair (that is my natural hair) just paints an image. ...one of the guys told me at the 80s themed dance that I was hot in any decade....and yet, no one that is nice and age appropriate has asked me out asked me out.
Well, that isn't entirely true. I was asked out by someone who admitted he isn't quite 30... haha... and a very nice man closer to my age who has been teaching me some couples dance stuff but we have pretty big religious differences and I am just not interested in him.
Anyway, I am just saying this is all food for thought... some people have a certain "look" for whatever reason... and the way you clothe and accessorize that look can change people's impressions.
