    Horrible nausea

It's always easier knowing there are others experiencing the same thing. This forum is great for it

    Horrible nausea

I had my sleeve 18 Dec & my whole 3rd week was as above. Couldn't keep more than 15-20g protein in a day and fluids via ice. After about 5-6 days it settled and I've been closer to my goals since. Dr said its normal as silly as it sounds transition from liquid to mush is pretty demanding on the stomach as its the first time it has to 'hold' anything after surgery. Some people take longer to adjust than others. But def light at the end of the tunnel - yay for being able to shower without passing out!

December sleevers 2013 just checking in!

Hi all, I was sleeved 12/18/13. Lost 29 during pre-op diet & another 18 since surgery (having fun converting my kg to lb!). Week 3 was awful for indigestion & constipation but regulating now & taking on the mushy stage better. I'm still only getting in about 400 calories / 30-35g protein per day. Has everyone else been able to reach the 50/60g protein goals?

    Stretch marks HELP!

Try BioOil - it helped me through past weight loss & I've got into it early after surgery. Whatever you use it needs to be regular use (2-3 times a day) to be effective. They will never disappear but they will get finer so they are not as noticeable..

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

--- Atlanta yes I understand I have to continue the s.s. I did Not have any constipation while on pain meds, dilaudid in hospital then roxicet for a week. i just had diarrhea for a few days and extreme fatigue for a while I Am on a ppi 2x a day and a pink carafate solution 3x a day that coats my stomach for ease with sipping due to major crying Induced hernia pain, pulsing and pressure -- it helps a little but my PA says the constipation is not from those rx's it's from Insufficient fluids Thanks for your support, my family thinks I need to toughen up. Hi Sandy,I'm brand new at this forum thing but an old sole with the #2 issue! I've had IBS for years and 2 weeks after my sleeve felt all the fun to the extreme. I used to live by Movicol regularly but because the built up gases in the clogged bowels (TMI) seem to increase the indigestion I couldn't take it! I found sipping hot water (tea if its easier) while walking around seems to help a lot. It goes straight through within minutes. Also when nothing seems to help you can pick up home-enemas at the local chemist. It sounds awful but really isn't difficult and gives you painless relief in 30mins. It also helps remove the excess gasses. I definitely wouldn't recommend it commonly but for severe pain & 5+ days it's better than a trip to the ER.Thanks to everyone on here posting I had my surgery Dec 18th and struggling so really good to have people with the same experiences/concerns to help!Amy

    How bad is the nausea?

I'm 2.5 weeks post-op. No nausea directly after surgery (although I was getting shots every few hours to avoid it!) Started mushy foods 5 days ago and have hardly eaten/drank since. Today was a turning point I've got down almost a litre of fluid + 1/2 a weetbix! My first successful mush! I've been told its common during transition phase but will definitely be glad to get into solids!
