  1. Congrats!
Dr-Patient got a reaction from FluffyChix in Onederland, 5 yrs ago. Now...
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and support! I appreciate it...and you. I've lost two pounds this week, so I'm refocusing. 2-3 days without the bad carbs is the needed trick for me, so...so far, so good this week. It should get easier in another 2 days. I revisited the BP site because I know others can relate to the journey.
    Thanks again!!

Thanks so much. I've lost two pounds this week, walking away from the bad carbs. I agree that if I can slow down my eating, avoid ALL bad carbs, I will probably get the stomach shrinkage I had and will have better control.
I'd saved a few of those applesauce cups (4 oz), so I'm putting my food into those. That's helping with portion control; that and drinking some lemon-tea with ACVinegar.
I had many friends die in the past 6 months and I 1) was busy caring for them as a friend (not as their doctor/surgeon). One friend had a major medical mishap after her heart surgery [!!], She survived, though, thank God; and 2) I had so many home repairs to be done--now completed--so big money was flowing out, etc., I eased up on my usual habits, and had unusual 'emotional/compassion fatigue." I was emotionally spent, and began grabbing whatever, and eating fast. So...
But friends have done what they were going to do--those who were dying, died [just sayin']; others are out of the hospitals/ICUs, etc, doing well--so I can get back to caring for me :-)
    Thanks again !!

I understand how re gain messes with your emotions. I’m five years out. I had a gain my third year and worked it off. It was not easy. I am concerned that you don’t want to “fight” for the weight loss. Even with a revision it still takes work to lose the weight and maintain it.
Search around the site and get perspective from people that had revisions. They can help you research that option. If you are interested in losing without revision, many of us can give you advice on how to get back on track
    I wish you the best,
    Jenn

Embrace! Embrace! Embrace! Capitalize on your honeymoon period. Let the weight fall off you by the barrel full!!!!
Eat only for fuel! Do what you need. Keep is simple and find new pursuits and new ways to get excitement and pleasure. This is a blessed once in a lifetime opportunity. You will likely NEVER feel this way again due to your WLS.

I had mine 12/29/2013. I lost 82 lbs. (100% of my excess weight). I kept it off for 3 yrs. and have gained back 30 lbs. I’ve re-joined WW and am using my post-surgery techniques as well to try to get it off.

I've resisted the urge to eat potato chips (my weakness). I haven't bought any. I've stopped the bad white carbs, etc.
So it's been meat--burgers with lettuce, Tomato, onion; eggs; salmon (tired of that, but...). I just marinated some ribs (isn't hi-protein great!!?) and will cook them tomorrow. If I get an Egg McMuffin, I pull the bread away.
I've added vinegar to my Water (that helps me lost weight); for Snacks, I've had almonds, or maybe some pineapple or blueberries.
A friend made a salmon crepe/omelette; she made a few revisions, and it was delicious. It looks doable for us wls folk. I'm going to try that next week. If it turns out well, I'll share the name of the dish, or the recipe itself.
So basically, no starchy carbs, etc.; and I'm TRYING to not rush my food; trying to slow it down.

regain. 65 lbs - terrific!! you are aces
i was sleeved 6+ years ago. i "assumed" once i lost my weight - that was it. no more problems,
weight gain etc. WRONG!! i gradually heard from OP (VETS) that you can/will gain weight
if you don't follow all your P's and Q's you learned as a newbie. Newbies need to learn/realize
they must continue/follow how they ate as a newbie. Water, Protein, carbs forever. most OP
do stretch the rules as time (years go by) nothing lasts forever. welcome to the real world.!!
    newbie beware good luck Kathy

Long story but i originally lost 140 lbs in about 2 years overall. Sleeve did 100 of it and lots of cardio etc did the rest.
then gradually weight crept back, very slowly at first, grazing, life happened, stopped the extreme exercise, let carbs back in. So 3 months shy of my 5 year surgiversary I had gained 65 back.
I knew I had to fix this or i’d be right back to 315 in no time.
I used the concepts in “Never Binge Again” book (free on kindle) and also Jason Fungs 2016 Obesity Code starting on Jan 1, 2018.
I am now down 22 lbs and know I can get the rest off.
I never “fixed” my insulin problem. I ate too much Protein. and so when the extreme exercise ended the weight crept back, the protein and “healthy carbs” encouraged the insulin and thus the cravings that the normal exercise couldn’t burn off.
I am back on track. My sleeve is bigger now but still gets fuller than a regular stomach so it hurts if I eat too much. Reduced ghrelin only helped me for 3 months after surgery.
I am thankful to the sleeve for the first 100 lbs but now it’s all on me and the right choices i make.
I recommend those books if you need to get back on track or even if you are in the euphoric losing stages because eventually you will need to make the right choices without all the early benefits of the surgery.

I forgot to say that my surgeon told me that, at this stage, my ghrelin has returned. It is up/elevated. So I keep telling myself that; and I am working hard to NOT eat so fast. To stick to Protein. To avoid my love of potato chips that I can woof down, then feel bloated from the carb and sodium load; and even to not eat the bread in an Egg McMuffin.
I bought some Syntrax Lemon-Tea powder, because I am tired of the milky-type drinks. Although, I didn't drink many of those because I don't lose weight with splenda/sucralose. So...
Just sharing the additional processing I'm amidst.

Congrats on five years out. You will work this back down. Don't let 20 pounds turn into 30, 40 or 50. Healthier you in 2019.
I was sleeved in 2014. I had a sixteen pound gain my third year and worked it back down.

Thank you. I'm trying to hold on. In fact, not trying; I MUST and WILL. I do not want to get fat again.
If I may...what do you mean you gained all your weight back? You just had surgery in March. Or did you have previous surgery, regained weight and then had the VSG in March? Expound, please. Thank you.

I had my VSG on Dec. 4, 2013. Ootpatient. Overall, I lost ~ 90 pounds, but alas, I have regained 20, and currently, am not still in "Onederland." I am not happy with that--as in bummed!!!. But this week, I am sticking to Protein and working hard to avoid bad carbs. Pray for me, 'cuz I was really happy at the near 175 weight and a size 10 or so (down from a 22). I WILL get back to 180 or so. I WILL.
