    Sleevers over 300lbs?

I started at 320 and was 313 day of surgery. I'm 9 weeks outs and fighting for the last 2 pounds to get me to a 50 pound loss. Sitting at 272.8. So frustrating to bounce back and forth a couple pounds instead of going down steadily. I know eventually it will come off but I was hoping to be in the 260's by now. 270 is where my body always seems to plateau when I try to lose weight.
  2. I am having the same problem!!! I eat in like 8 minutes.

    St. Patrick's Day Challenge

I have no idea what's going on. I'm up. 273.8. So upset and aggravated.
  4. Rudeness probably won't make you a lot of friends. We are all in the same boat and these threads are known to vary widely. A polite response will get you a lot farther than ALL OF THIS internet yelling. Maybe just appreciate that people are concerned over your well being.
  5. I would also say that that is a lot of food for that far out. You stomach is still healing and may not be sending you the signals to stop eating fast enough. At three weeks, when I was told to progress with soft foods, I could barely eat one slice of lunch meat with one slice of cheese rolled up. I'm sure you trust your doctor and that's why you chose them but I would be concerned that they are allowing you to eat all of those things so early out when 99% if us were not allowed to do that. If you are able to eat that much now, how much will you be able to eat at three, six, or nine months? What about at two years? The restriction will decrease over time and you don't want to get to a point where you lose that portion control you are looking for. It never hurts to get a second opinion. And even though you may get lots of opinions on here, another bariatric surgeon may help answer your questions to the scientific extent we are not able to.

    Great Food Products!

What are these, and where do you get them? I need some sort of crunch and I'm disgusted by every nutrition label I read.

    Just wondering

I was specifically told to be completely clean. No makeup, lotion, hair products, or deodorant. I believe things should be as sterile as possible when you are have surgery, laparoscopic or not. And seriously, you are NOT gonna care what you look like when you wake up. Why take the risk?

    Protein and calories

All calories should be counted. No matter where they come from. Not all protein drinks are great choices so looking for one that has a better protein to calorie ratio is important.

    What About Your Friends?

I have one friend who is constantly on a diet. She is about 40 pounds overweight and very self conscious about it. She was very supportive of my decision to have surgery and even started her own diet at the same time. What I have started to notice though is that she gets really irritated when I talk about how many pounds I've lost. She's on MFP so she can see it there but the other day she snapped at me. I mentioned that I thought it was weird that all of my pant were getting longer. And she just said that not everyone knows what that's like because not everyone loses 5 pounds a week. First of all I just had SURGERY and second of all I had 170 pounds to lose, not 40. So there are some pretty big differences in our journeys. I decided that I just couldn't talk about it or be happy about it any more while around her. It makes me sad. But I'm moving out of state in a couple weeks and back to a place where I have more friends, who couldn't be happier for me. Maybe at a distance she will be less jealous.
  10. Finally seeing some movement. HW 320 12/3 SW 313 12/17 CW 271.8 today Almost 50 pounds down. I'm so excited! And over 40 since surgery 2 months ago. I'm not the fastest loser, but I'm losing and I'll take it.

    Side Sleeping ?

It took me 4 1/2 weeks to sleep on my side. I think it might also depend in whether you have a tethering stitch or not. I could not sleep on my side until the stitch popped.

    Valentine's Challenge

Didn't make my goal but still had a good loss. Started at 294.7 and end at 274.3. The goal was 269 but since it was my first challenge I think I over shot it a little. Oh well, on to the next challenge!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Private message me your email address. I have my manual on my computer. Not saying it's better than the rest but maybe you could use it as a reasonable tool to help you decide what is best for you. My NUT also does phone consultations. I live in Denver and they are in Dallas, where I had my surgery and LOTS of surgeries are done. They are independent from my surgeon and specialize in post bariatric surgery patients. Let me know if you want their info.

    nothing makes me puke

Be careful and keep weighing food. Your sleeve may not be telling you it's full yet. You're so soon out of surgery, I'm surprised your on full foods. Your sleeve is still healing and may not be ready to send you the signals.

    nothing makes me puke

I'm 8 weeks out and haven't puked yet either. I try a new food slowly with a small bite just in case, but all seems fine. Eggbeater is the only thing my tummy said no to. Didn't throw up, tummy just got queasy after two bites and I stopped eating it. Sometimes it makes me nervous that I can eat whatever I want. But my restriction is there and I'm losing weight!!
  18. Wow you look great!!! I started your same size, did you need any plastics for the excess skin cause you look like you have a super flat tummy.

@ a weight loss stalll Help!

Search the forum for the 3 week stall and you'll find hundreds of posts. Stick with your plan and don't freak out. It probly more normal to have the three week stall than to not have it. You'll be fine. This too shall pass.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I think that I would pass out if I only ate that much and my surgery was the day after yours. I would definitely get a second opinion. I'm at 800 calories the days I don't work out and 1000 the days I do. If I work out and don't eat any carbs I get lightheaded and have massive headaches after. I try to stay around 40 carbs, 80 protein and 40 fat. I hit one stall for a week but now that I've upped the calories (was doing 700 a day) I have started to lose again.

    Got the date !

Just remember. This will be the last 2 weeks for a very long time that you will feel like you want to eat more. For the next several months you'll be trying to figure out how to get enough in. I'm 8 weeks out and struggle to get enough calories in daily. A total switch from pre-op where I thought I was going to die from hunger.
  22. That is a difficult spot to be in. If you feel you cannot tell them your situation I would bring a soup to share with the rest of them then only eat that. The chances of them not knowing something is up will be less than if you bring your own single serve protein drink. You could also not eat anything and tell them you are ill, but that depends on how you feel about lying to them.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I went through a huge stall where I lost and gained the same two pounds. I finally broke it two days ago!!! I think my trick was upping my calories to around 1000. I work out pretty vigorously 5-6 times a week and my NUT said to try it and it worked!!!! HW 320 12/3 SW 313 12/17 CW 274.3
