Madelyne Bonthron got a reaction from moite1 in 13 yr old getting sleeve. Need recommendations in Mexico
Thank u for adding the link. Also as a nurse i agree that there are some doctors in the states that i would not let touch me either. As of mother of 5 children if my child needed this surgery i would do it. Better then putting all those drugs in your system that end up hurting your heart, liver and kidneys. Good lucky to you and your daughter though this process.

It could also be a stricture. Definitely check with your surgeon or your PCP if your surgeon isn't local.

Madelyne Bonthron reacted to ekmw in 3 months out and not wanting food
Visit your MD or surgeon. It could be stomach acids making this happen.
It can make you vomit after eating, too.

Greek yogurt and Protein is great. You need to train your system to eat and utilize "good" food.

Madelyne Bonthron reacted to Llunker in 13 yr old getting sleeve. Need recommendations in Mexico
Also I would like to say that my Fiancé and I are both getting sleeved this weekend in piedras by Dr. Alvarez, we are also both highly trained ICU nurses with several years experience. I liked the comment asksarah made earlier about some of the surgeons here in the states are some I wouldn't let operate on my dog. His costs for a sleeve are relatively the same as the states and maybe a little higher....$8600 or so..... But he also
Sports state of the art equipment like his Da Vinci Surgical System Robot. Btw- here is the link of him with the 12 year old.

For all of our negative and positive interpretations of this message...I wonder did any one think that perhaps this person was writing this letter to her/him self?
I often times see people here and in life who put themselves down, beat themselves up for their perceived lack of success or in fear of failure. I'm sure you have looked in a mirror once or twice and thought some pretty negative things about the person you saw staring back at you.
Perhaps the conversation in your mind started off negative as you tore that image in the mirror down, only to look deeper and realize that you had the power to change it and just as easily build yourself up.
Picking up your head, facing your fear looking it in the eye and saying YOU ROCK! YOU GOT THIS!!

To the skinny running around the track
You know nothing of how I came to this place
Of aching joints, embarrassment and self defeat
I'm trying to survive while you run your 6 minute mile
It's not about midnight Snacks, Cookies and cake
It's about a little girl who learned early
She was alone, unprotected, vulnerable
Blamed herself for the abuse she suffered
I'm not here for you to judge or make assumptions
About how I became a fatty, I don't need your approval
As you pass me, an encouraging word would be ok
Cause with every painful step I want to quit
So don't judge me at the track, grocery store or diner
Don't judge me at the gym, park or pool
Don judge me anywhere I go, skinny
You run your life, I'll run mine, one mile at a time

I'd like to meet the person who penned this letter so I can smack their pompous, condescending face. The writer makes some gross assumptions about how and why the "fattie" is overweight. Maybe you guys see some sort of latent inspiration in this story but all I see is someone who is trying to explain their bias and stereotypical judgement of a "fattie" I don't think the "fattie" wants, deserves or needs support and inspiration from some self serving patronizing "skinny bitch"

Madelyne Bonthron reacted to 1Day1Life4Now in I Dont Think Ya'll Are ready for this.
I had read that same article last week on line. The writer may have wanted to come off as non-condescending but I feel he was very much so. For him to assume what the runner was thinking, whether they be overweight or not is a bit presumptuous on his part. When we see someone running on the track that is thin and normal weight, is it okay to think and feel obnoxious things about them and then put it into writing? I don't think so. This writer is just looking for support in judging others and I'm not buying it. We don't need to be called "fatty" or anything else. We have names and we are doing the best we can with what we have. I prefer an article that is more positive and uplifting and shows support for those persons that have struggles with health and weight. But hey, that's just me.

Hi there,
I am new here. I am just starting the process for the sleeve at synergy. I also received the list for what is needed from IHA for the surgery. The 6 month diet and exercise is listed. How did u end up get past this? Did u have your doctor right a statement or was it never required?

The sleeve many people and converting from the band to the sleeve. They have great success stories along with why they have changed. Remember this is a life change. Do don't worry about the 90% of your stomach being gone. You will do great!

Biotin. It's either gonna fall out or it isnt. Since I had such drastic weightloss I wasn't that fortunate.. BUT no one could tell but me
I haven't had plastics... I have a saggy belly. Very saggy but with the right pose and pants no one can tell much

Madelyne Bonthron reacted to Lovely Lady in Undecided lap band vs sleeve
I talked further with the W.L. Center. They asked me if I decided what surgery I decided to have. I told them that is a hard decision for me to make, they are both good surgeries, and I think I would do fine with either one of them.
The nurse explained how they have a few Lap Band patients that are needing to have their band removed, and how Medicare doesn't want to cover for the cost. The patients are right now, trying to figure out how to pay for themselves. The nurse said she doesn't want me to be in a situation like they are. I am just not willing to take a chance, so I plan to get the sleeve.
