I told my family I'll be headed to Mexico for some half price plastic surgery before this whole thing is over. I was sleeved on 12/2.

  2. Hi everyone! I'm Sabrina, I'm 24 height 5'4 and I currently weigh 195 my goal weight is 105. I got my surgery dec. 21st 2013 starting out at 215 pounds so I've lost exactly 20 pounds in one month. I think I should have lost more it seems like most people do. How much weight have some of the other December members lost? One of the only issues I'm struggling with right now is Protein. How are we supposed to get all that protein without sucking down a million calories? It seems like every drink has so few g's of protein but soo many calories. Has anyone found a good low calorie high protein drink? Or found Andy foods they are fond of that are high in protein low calorie?

Hi, Sabrina. I have struggled from the beginning with protein. The shake I found that, to me, tastes the best is Premier Protein chocolate shakes. They are 11oz with 160 calories and 30g of protein. The puréed and soft food stage has been difficult for me. These shakes have gotten me through. I was sleeved on 12/2. Good luck. Reading these posts everyday has made a huge impact on me. Everyone is so helpful and encouraging. Keep up the good work! We did the hard part and now we just have to adjust!

  3. I am just wonder how long after being sleeved most people went back to work?

I went to work the same day I discharged from the hospital. I was able to work 3rd shift the first 2 days and resumed my regular 2nd shift at 5 days post op. If I could have, I would have taken 2 weeks off but I couldn't. Luckily everything turned out good, great recovery. I was very exhausted though. I was sleeved on 12/12/13 and discharged and back to work on 12/14/13.

honey love, you are amazing! I give you a lot of credit!

  4. I was sleeved on 12/2 and went back to my 60 hour work weeks on 12/16. I work at a grocery store with a lot of walking, standing, reaching, and bending over. Luckily for me in my job now,

I don't have to lift. If I'm being honest, I needed another week off. I barely made it through my shifts and I was going to bed before 7pm. Once discharged from the hospital, I did not take any pain medication. That first week back to work, I took it everyday. I needed to go back to work for financial reasons and because my employers were less than thrilled with my surgery and recovery being so close to the busy season ( my surgery should have been in early November but I had insurance issues.)

  5. Need some suggestions....I'm 6 days post op and feel like I'm struggling! I am basically living on SF pudding and juice. I've tried a couple different Protein Shakes since I've been home & they make me gag! I've gotten some cream Soups down but I don't like them. I'm just feeling a little down. I can start puréed food tomorrow so I'm hoping that will help.

Hi, MGR1852. I felt the same way. And I'm still struggling. I googled every single Protein Shake I could find. I hate all of the Protein powders that I have tried. And I have spent a fortune in the past 20 days trying them all. I found a ready to drink shake at costco that is my favorite. It's called Premiere Protein shakes in chocolate. I'm not usually a chocolate fan but I like these. I feel like it leaves a funny taste in my throat but I think that about Water now, too. That could just be me. I'm not hungry and I'm struggling to get the protein in. I start puréed tomorrow too and I can't even bring myself to get excited about it because it doesn't mean anything to me yet.

  6. hello. I am new to this group, but I am very interested in learning from everyone. I had my gastric sleeve on 12/2/13. I know that it's going to be the best thing I'll ever do for myself. I am struggling getting in all of my Protein and I am beyond exhausted everyday. I went back to work on 12/16. Has anyone else experienced this? I would take all the advice I can get. Thank you in advance.

Hello, and welcome!! I was also December 2nd! I am also having a hard time getting in protein. I got an unflavored powder I could add into my puréed foods for an extra jump. I am still tired too, surgeon said its normal, our bodies are adjusting to all the changes, it should get better! Are you getting carbs in your diet? My nutritionist told me yesterday my carbs were too low which may be adding to fatigue. Happy to have you with us!

Hi, Nurse_B! Thanks for the advice. I've gotten no carbs in my diet. I've been sticking to the 3 weeks of liquids. It's not that I'm hungry and I know the lack of protein has got to be a huge problem.
