  1. I am 2 1/2 years post op. I lost 100lbs total and I was very happy about it. At about the 2 year mark, my OB Doctor started me on a hormone medication in an attempt to achieve pregnancy. This was unsuccessful, and caused me to gain about 25lbs in a two week period while taking it. The OB said it can be normal to gain weight while taking this, and some of it should go away once I stop. I haven't been taking it for about 3 months now and I have not lost a pound yet. My eating and exercise habits haven't changed at all. I am incredibly frustrated and depressed. I feel like a fool for "messing up" my weight loss journey in an attempt to have a baby that failed anyways. Has anyone had any similar issues that they may have any suggestions for me? I also have PCOS.
  2. Hey everyone! I am almost 3 months post op sleeve and down 60 lbs, woo hoo! I was just curious when other sleevers noticed that their weight loss stopped? 12 months? 18? Only 6? I am still hoping to lose a lot more and I am currently in a stall, so I need reassurance that I will still lose! Thanks everyone!

    Feeling doubtful?

Mollz - you are two weeks out and eating all that?? I am almost two weeks and I am still doing only liquids. Hoping to get advanced to ground foods on Thursday. Can't wait, so sick of just liquids!

    Still in pain

I was sleeved 2/24, almost two weeks post op. I barely needed any pain meds for the 2 nights I was in the hospital and haven't touched any since coming home. It sounds like too much pain for you to still be having this far out. Did your pain subside and then now is bad again? Or has it just always been bad? Either way, I would call your MD. Good luck!! Feel better!!
  5. I have had procedures done on my ovaries, but they were always done via the vagina. Those I never really had much pain at all. I have also had 2 csections. I found the amount of pain to be about similar to my csections, which wasn't too bad at all. 1 thing that surprised me, and it really shouldn't have, was that I was expecting the pain to be in my "belly". But your stomach is higher in your abdomen and thus the pain was higher. Almost lower chest, just below the breasts. Just take your pain medications and stay on top of the pain so it doesn't sneak up on you, and walk to help with gas! Good luck!

What made you decide to have VSG?

I am a 31 year old married mother to two miracle boys. I have PCOS and have struggled with infertility and my weight my whole life and finally decided a few months ago that if I kept things up I was never going to enjoy my kids, see them grow, and I was setting a horrible example for them. This decision brought me to the VSG. Surgery date was 2/24. Already down 30lbs including pre op diet. Would love to hear others' stories!

    Hospital stay

I stayed two nights. Day after surgery I had my leak test and when that was fine I slowly progressed through the diet stages until discharge the following day.

    100lbs down!

    Congrats you look amazing!!
  10. Ok, 4 days post op here and I am still on liquids only. I am looking for some recipes to make my protein shakes a little different, besides just vanilla and chocolate all the time. I tried adding a little peanut butter to a chocolate one which made it taste really good, but it was a little to heavy for my fresh little sleeve. I will file that away for possible later use. Any other suggestions...? Thanks in advance!

    Wondering

I worry slightly about this, but for a different aspect. My husband and I love each other very much and he has always been super supportive of my decision for WLS since day 1. My issue is that he is also overweight (not morbidly obese like me) and trying to lose weight as well. He is super grumpy when we were dieting and always looked to me to cave in and "allow" us to cheat since I would have no will power and wasn't seeing results anyways. So now, at first there is a lot I can't eat and later I will be losing and will be motivated to stick to the diet. So I fear he will be super grumpy and it will cause a lot of arguments. Whatever comes I am sure we can handle it, we just don't argue much now and I fear that will change. I guess only time will tell!

    nervous i need insight

I was just sleeved Monday and my pain was very minimal. Good luck!
  13. So when I started my journey towards WLS, the actual procedure seemed so far away... Now as I pack my hospital bag for my surgery tomorrow, I find myself getting very nervous. I am excited, yes, but very nervous about the actual surgery. I know this is the right tool to finally get my crazy body under control and I welcome the changes with open arms. I am just so nervous about the surgery, I hope all goes well! "/
  14. You both look awesome!! Congrats on all your success!!!
