  1. Sounds like we had our surgeries around the same time. I got to my lowest weight of 164 lbs. About a year after surgery. I started out at 325. I gained back about 10 lbs over the last 2 years, and I felt fine in the 170s. I knew that I wasn’t eating my best though- I was eating whatever I wanted in small portions. That’s not how I wanted to live, and I didn’t feel my best. So 2 weeks ago I tried out the 10 Day Pouch Reset diet- not to shrink my pouch, but to get back control of my eating. I ended up losing 6 lbs during those 10 days. I decided to continue eating clean by cutting out most carbs and wine, and sticking with vegetarian way of eating. I feel great and I lost a few more pounds! So I just thought I’d let you know what worked for me- Good luck! You can do whatever you set your mind to! We have already proven that we can be successful after surgery, sometimes we just need to remind ourselves that we are bariatric patients for life who have to constantly work towards maintaining our new bodies and minds!

    Hiatal Hernia AFTER RNY

I had a hh repair 6 months after rny in 2019. Recovery was more challenging than rny, but glad I had it done. Prior to hh repair it was painful to workout. I've been working out and running just fine 6 weeks after repair. Good luck to you!
  3. Can you explain what you mean by this? It seems that when I workout consistently, I gain some weight. There have been weeks when I don't exercise, and I drop weight. This is very frustrating. I would love your insight. Thanks. I recently hit my lowest weight of 174 lbs, but I'm slowing creeping up to 180 lbs despite tracking food and working out daily. Can we blend tripe?

Don't worry, once you're in regular food stage, you can enjoy menudo, pozole, lengua, barbacoa, arrachera, and chorizo again- just a few ounces at a time though! Lol I'm 7 months post- op and my stomach is fine with all my old favorite Mexican foods. I just stick with proteins and veggies, and I avoid tortillas, rice, and beans. Good luck! Sex

Have you considered online dating? I consider myself shy, socially awkward, and a bit of an introvert. Bars and social scenes weren't for me. So, 12 years ago I tried online dating and I was lucky enough to meet a woman than I married 2 years later. I was 32 years old at that time. Next month we celebrate our 10 year anniversary. I dated a few duds before I met her, but it was worth it in the end. Good luck! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I am 7 months post op RNY, and I have experienced stalls and even some scary fluctuations. It's all so frustrating at times, but I make sure to visit my friends here to remind myself that this is all part of our new normal. Congrats and good luck on your journey! Weight Fluctuations

So, you think 4 lbs is still a normal fluctuation? I had always told myself that anything more than 3 lbs would be a red flag for me. Thank you!
  9. I had RNY July 2019 and I'm down about 130 lbs total from pre-surgey 311 lbs to current weight of 182 lbs. In the last week I've gained 4 lbs (178 to 182). I'm trying to catch my mistake now to prevent the scale from going up any further. Im watching my portions, counting calories and carbs, and drinking most of my Water. Im not doing anything different than I was doing when I was losing. I can accept a stall, but I'm terrified of regaining just 7 months out. I had hernia repair surgery on 12/31/19, so I'm still unable to exercise for another few weeks. I managed to lose about 10 lbs during January after surgery without exercise. February has been a rough start for me though. Have any of you experienced a gain like this throughout your journey? I've stalled in the past, and I have even gained a lb or 2, but gaining 4 lbs is scaring the hell out of me. Overall, I know I've been successful, but being obese my whole life makes me not trust myself when it comes to health and nutrition. Please give me words of advice to get me through this. I feel so confused reading the threads sometimes... eat more, eat less, watch carbs, carbs don't matter... I just don't know what to believe.

  11. Thank you for your positive thoughts. I will stay focused on my goals! 😊
  12. Interested in hearing from anyone who's had hernia repair surgery after bypass or sleeve. Advice? Thoughts? I am 6 months post op rny and was just told that I have to have an abdominal hernia surgery next week! Im trying not to panic about another surgery and not being able to exercise for 6 weeks. I've lost almost 120 lbs and I'm proud of my workout routine, so I'm terrified about breaking my new habits. I have 20 lbs left to lose and I'm sick with the thought that I'll gain some of my weight back. Appreciate any insights y'all might have for me. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    The dreaded month 3 stall

Stalls are just part of our journey 😊 I just keep on plugging along and have learned to trust the process. I hit several stalls over these last few months. I finally hit ONEderland and found myself in yet another stall... I'm enjoying my progress and loving my new life. I'll hit my last 2 goals... eventually ❤

Nothing tastes good or the same

I love that I don't love food anymore! Food is no longer an exciting form of entertainment to me, and I am grateful for that. I eat because I need to and I look at nutrition labels. This new me and my new way of living is exactly why I had this rny surgery.
