Lmao I'm pre op but have 3 aunts and 2 cousins who all have that gas! Man they can clear out a room, most of them are courteous and run outside and do it now with company, but one of my aunts is 13 years post op and she still smells like that so I have a feeling it's here to stay lol

Sometimes the salty thing could be a side effect of medication but it's most commonly a sign of dehydration.

Yes you can always have the switch done later down the road if you feel you need the malabsorption

I am pre op and my labs came back with an abnormally high platelet count so they did another blood test in order to do a blood smear and got the same results. Any other pre op or post op people diagnosed with this? Did it change anything about your surgery?

http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/104850/black-bean-and-corn-quesadillas I found some whole wheat low carb tortillas- 80 calories, I omitted the brown sugar in the recipe and red pepper flake (I didn't have any) but added more hot salsa. -

I would be so appreciative of a vegetarian section as most of the recipes I see for post op are based around a meat for protein! What's about us plant based eaters! I'd love to share some great protein rich legume recipes! This website is so wonderful and continues to improve! The recipe idea would be a wonderful integration! I appreciate your hard work and tentativeness to incorporating new ideas! This is so great! -
I guess I feel very fortunate that my dad and my fiancé insisted I take the next two years off of work to really focus on me and my new lifestyle. I've been working and in school/ college since I was 15, I hope I don't go crazy! But I look forward to being able to focus on me and plan meals and dedicate time to exercise.

One more month before my 6 month weight management is up
KristinaRnY replied to Cupcake's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The 24th will be 12 months for me and by the time I have surgery it will be about 15 months and that is doing everything in my program as soon as the classes were available and scheduling the next step as soon as I was walking out of a completed one, I have kaiser though in the Pacific Northwest. -
Sounds exactly like mine, in surprised your doc said that as it is really common for people to develop them after surgery.

I have seen you use foul language and say so many hurtful and negative things to people on this site that they don't "need". Your negativity is unwanted here.

I live in Oregon and have traveled to many places and I too agree that the beaches here are some of the most beautiful and peaceful I have seen, however, they are never warm. It's not warm here long enough to ever get the water warm enough to play in so I'm not sure it would be the best beach or most fun for a kid. But the wax museum, sea lion caves, aquarium, and ripleys believe it or not are right on the beach and are so much fun!

Such a good idea about the pickles! Although I spent most of my life being addicted to pickles! When I was younger 8-15 my dad wouldn't buy pickles anymore because i would sit and eat a whole jar and even drink the juice. Yuck! Now I can't even eat a whole pickle. But i could see how that would curb your cravings. When I crave sweets I brush my teeth, the sort of sweet minty toothpaste leaves my mouth refreshing and I never want to eat after I brush my teeth!

I am pre op, 23 years old and looking at a February date. I have been friends with a woman since we were 12 and together we have struggled with our weight. We were workout buddies, we failed weight watchers together and several other "diets" since highschool she has said" I would totally get WLS no matter what my mother thinks."I've been in the kaiser program for 13 months now and throughout this whole thing she has made stabs at me. Every time that i see her and I'm speaking in absolutes because every time that I see her she makes a comment about having loose skin after surgery, " aren't you worried about all the loose skin, you are going to look weird and deformed" every time I kid you not. She also on occasion makes the remark "I could never do that to myself" really? Because you said you would. I got a new gym membership 6 weeks ago or so because I moved to a new area and it happens to be a nicer facility and in the 6 weeks I've lost 20 lbs, I also happen to be a vegetarian so she decided to get a membership at the same gym I am in, in a neighboring city even though she's in a contract with another gym which is closer to her house, she also said she's becoming a vegetarian to lose weight.... I became a vegetarian because heart disease runs in my family and I wanted to eliminate the saturated fats and the hormones and chemicals in meat. But apparently she thinks being a vegetarian is the reason im losing weight, uh no, it's very easy to be a junk food vegetarian I chose not to be through discipline and I get my ass to the gym rain or shine every day. Her new favorite thing to do though is I swear serial dating where she likes to compare each one of them to my fiancé and send me pictures of them via text. I've spent the last two years preparing to be emotionally ready for this and surrounding myself with positive people and I'm so fed up with this.

Me too! I am always cold now. I've never had that experience before. One of my friends told me today, welcome to the other side! See what skinny girls have to deal with, we're always cold! I've never considered myself "skinny" EVER!!!!! What a journey! If being cold is a skinny thing I'm in for a rude awakening, I'm pre op but I'm always cold! As soon as it hits 60 degrees my skin is stinging. This time of year I don't dare go outside without three sweaters on, a scarf, gloves, and a hat. -
Sounds like you know what you need to do! Three weeks isn't bad at all most people have to keep a diary for 6 months. You can download the myfitnesspal app and keep track of everything there, you would just have to add notes of what time it is and where you are but it gives you an idea of how many calories you should be eating and a graph of how much carbs/protein/ and fat you are eating
