I'd like to know about salad friendly ingredients as well! I'm pre op but am a vegetarian and I eat a very plant based diet.

My surgeon only requires a liquid diet if your bmi is above 50.

Post op protein.
KristinaRnY replied to mizznickie13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am extremely allergic to whey and whey protein is absorbed the best and usually contains more protein. If people are struggling to get in their protein post op by supplementing with whey shakes I'm going to have a hell of a time with my hemp protein. -
I have been criticized my entire life for being fat and there is no way in hell I'm going to criticized once I'm healthy because I had WLS. No fricken way. That's why I'm not telling people.

Yeah it was pretty uncomfortable during insertion but they were very accommodating by putting a cool wash cloth on my forehead and offering me crackers or juice and 3 people offered to help dress me and walk me to my car. The cramps are getting obnoxious, they just feel like bad period cramps now but I am glad the insertion is over. I was hot, sweaty, and dizzy and felt nauseous during.

It's way past my bed time as I have to be up in a few hours but I have this dirty little secret. I grab some toothpicks and prop my eyes open so I can stay up and watch bewitched when it comes on antenna tv at night lol :-P

I cannot find much of anything about my surgeon online.. No reviews that I can read anyway, of course I am on a mobile device. Where can I go to look up my surgeon?

My surgery is in clackamas oregon at the sunnyside kaiser -
Eventually do you graduate to bigger sips or is it tiny sips for life?

Two years ago when I first considered it my pcp who is a np said she could insert it in office (I have kaiser)... Now kaiser only allows obgyns and few mds to do it.

So this evening I got my IUD which is giving me the worst flippen cramps but not only that I ate this fiber bar and I have a bad case of what I like to call whomp whomp farts and all I could do while the gyn was placing my iud is try not to fart on her... Here I am 8 hours later waking my dog up with "braaaap brap" and I have a 3 hour dentist appointment in the AM so help me god this gas passes. Any tips other than never eat a fiber bar again? When will this be over?!

If you are then I'm going to hell for giggling and then sighing with relief every time it happens. I wouldn't feel like a lady anymore but I still fart glitter
-
I couldn't tolerate any of the oral contraceptives I had tried and my gyn did tell me there is a possibility the mirena may be coming off the market completely and that if that happened the Skyla would still be offered and the paraguard but having my body reject everything else I decided to give it a try. Hopefully it works for me.

At least my air biscuits don't stink but they sure are obnoxious

Idk if I'll feel the same way when I have it but I'm almost looking forward to it.. Is that mean? I threaten my fiancé all the time when he farts I say, " you wait I'm gonna Dutch oven you post op" he laughs but has no idea what he is in for.

That's so tough!!! I adore Elizabeth Montgomery. There are different things about each of the Darrins, I think they each brought something unique to the character however I don't typically like when they change casts in any film! So I'd have to go with the original by default, though if the second Darrin was cast first which he originally was offered the job first (but was already in a contract) I'd like him more.

I see my surgeon on February 24th for my last visit before surgery. He will give my my date then but he said typically it's 4-6 weeks from that appointment. -

Yay thank you! Glad someone replied lol and on a positive note, alright headed to my appointment now!

So my surgeons office will be calling me Thursday to make an appointment to meet with my surgeon and then at that appointment he will give me a date which I was informed would be at most 1 month from that appointment... I have been so positive throughout all of this and I've been doing great losing weight and being active and eating right. Well I woke up this morning from my third bad dream about this surgery in the last week. Today I just feel fat and gross and like I'm going to be like this forever. Idk what is going on with me today but I can't snap out of it. Going to the gym here soon so hopefully that helps. Ugh thanks for reading.

Thank you all for the encouragement, thankfully my funk was short lived! I felt better as soon as I exercised. I never thought I would say that!!!

New Colon Cleanse idea!
KristinaRnY replied to ReaRaes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So this is awful and I am not sure what kind of repercussions the universe will throw at my fiancé for this but he is planning on gifting a bag of these to his coworker who is always in a bad mood. He throws temper tantrums at work and tried to push a portable toilet on top of my fiancé... I just wish I could be there to see him run to the bathroom. -
It does make a huge difference! I'm addicted to logging, i plan every meal of my day 3 days in advance, sometimes I'll even log in advance and just adjust it if need be. If I don't log in advance I'm logging while I am eating. I started with a journal in May 2013, in October I started using MFP, either way... Log your food!! Btw I am still pre op, you don't have to wait until after your surgery to start. I'm not saying you have to log while you eat like me (because I love to log) you can still enjoy your food, log everything at the end of the day if you cAn remember and it works for you. However you do it, log it, you will see results.
