  1. You will be fine alone. I went alone and did fine. I had a long flight home as well. Do you think you can get by with a carry on? I do suggest a heating pad for the night of surgery. What hospital will you be going to?

    How long of a wait?

I did not qualify either. I went to Mexico and had a wonderful experience. It only took me a few weeks to get it done once I did my research and scheduled appointment. Good Luck!!

How often do you step on the scale?

Hi Mike, I, too, step on the scales each and every day! I was sleeved in March and am about 10 pounds from where I would love to be. Hope you have a wonderful ride on the losing side of the bench! Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl
  6. I loved, loved, loved sweets of any kind before my sleeve. Now….not so much. I have not tried to eat sweets, however, the thought of anything sweet makes me feel sick. I did try yogurt and it made me sick. I also don't have any desire for anything fried. The thought of greasy food makes me feel nauseous. So, it's pretty cool because I can eat clean all of the time and really enjoy it. I pray all goes well for you and your journey. Happy Losing, Mississippi girl

    No, I don't have cancer!

people can be rally crude. Once when I lost a lot of weight everyone was asking if I had cancer. Was I sick? Now they are asking how I'm losing weight. It's like they don't notice until one day…then it looks like you've lost it overnight. Haters are gonna hate. I love this new way of life. Would not change it for the world. Just don't like the drama involved. Happy Losing, Mississippigirl
  8. Sassypants92201, The difference is that you have a high dollar tool that is helping you. It takes all of the guess work out of it. As long as your follow protocol with your diet, you will lose. I don't count calories. I had my surrey, March 10, and have reached my first goal. I would like to lose another ten pounds, but I'm happy right now at this weight. Just remember, Protein first, veggies second, carbs last, if you have room. I've never had room for the carbs, plus carbs make me crave other junk food. Therefore, I stay as far away from them as I can. It gets easier with each day. The tool will help you not only lose the weight, but keep it off as well. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl p.s. break up with food now, before your surgery.
  9. I did not cheat on mine. However, I was in the hospital with two girls that did. You could hear them throwing up all night long, all over the hospital. They put you on this diet to cut down on the fat of your liver among other things. It's truly for your own good. Remember when you overeat….it's just more of the same. Hang in there. You'll make it through this. You just have to break up with food. You have to wrap your mind around that before the surgery or you will be miserable. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl

I always love seeing your beautiful face when you post. I am so sorry you're having more trouble. I pray for you often and know that you'll get through this…just like all the other times. You are the most positive, sick person I know. Hang in there girl. We all love you! Mississippigirl

    Seriously mourning food :(

Shahada, You're just going through a learning curve. I had mine done March 10, and it took me a minute to find other things to do. It also took several weeks for me not to be too interested in food. I finally quit planning all of my meals. That may be okay for some, but for me, it was too much time and attention on food. I can eat anything I want, even salad. That's a blessing. I just have found that food is not that important any longer. i really never get a craving for anything. You will find your zone. Just give it a few more weeks. You can always grab sugar free popsicles, or sugar fee Jello. I live on cottage cheese. I'm sure I'll get sick of it, sooner or later, but for now, it's good. Be creative with your food choices. You'll come around. You always have all of us here. We will cheer you on.

    Train of thought

Go for it. You will never regret it. I had mine done March 10th. I'm already feeling like a million bucks. I have so much energy. I go places now. I am not just watching the world go by. The main thing is to do it for you! You deserve good health and happiness. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl
  14. That's so cool. I love those too. Sometimes that's what keeps you going. I noticed my watch slide over my hand the other day. Yeah! Keep up the great work. Happy Losing, Mississippi Girl

What do you do instead of "Going out to dinner"?

You can still go out to eat. Just order a healthy meal. You'll always have leftovers. I go out all of the time with people that have no clue I had this surgery. I just don't make an issue of it. I've gotten really good at moving food around on my plate. I kind of make a game of it. I don't really want to eat the junk others eat, because my sleeve does not like it.
