We do lot of cutting edge stuff that is for sure. the blend of research, practice and education (represented by the three shields) along with our motto "the needs of the patient comes first" says it all. That is great to love your work. I am the same way!

Your husband will be in great hands! I have worked for Mayo for over 20 years. It is truly a special place and anyone who has ever experienced care at any of our destination sites would surely agree. I had my RNY there last year and will have my lower body lift there in November. If you've never been to Rochester before you are in for a treat! I always enjoy my trips to that campus and it always reinforces the pride I have with working for the world's greatest Healthcare organization. I'm truly blessed! I've been to Winona before! A dear friend of mine lives in Byron (sp?) And we went to Winona for a site visit once for work. What is your degree in?

    Any assistance would be appreciated

That's about what I was thinking but he said it was more. I can't wait because I can fit into a size 2 pant now but with a muffin top of skin. It will be nice to not tuck it in anymore. And tuck a shirt instead!!!

Cowgirljane, how much did your skin removal end up weighing? I'm having a lower body lift later this year and was curious. My surgeon estimated 10 to 12 lbs that shocked me. I'm 126 now and have a lot of skin but 10 or more lbs is a lot. Freaks me out. Lol I lost 140 from my all time high.

    June Post Ops!

I live in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Been here most of my adult life, except for during college. I work for Mayo Clinic so I have been to Minnesota a lot for business! I love the beach but hate the summer heat and if I could move anywhere it would probably be a New England state as I love to quilt and season changes are the best! Florida has its perks tho, especially in January! P.s. I'll be heading to Rochester in early October for a retreat. Love it up there that time of year!

    June Post Ops!

I hit 126 this morning! While not my goal of 125 it sure is close! I was popping between 129 and 130 for 2.5 weeks now. I just kept following my plan and this morning it dropped. Yay! I know I may go back up but my range I set for myself is this and I feel like I can maintain. Plus with the lower body lift in November I may drop lower so I need to focus on maintenance and continuing to build muscle.

    lower body lift

Have you tried to submit? I had the opinion it couldn't hurt to try and if they denied I would at least know. So glad it went in my favor

    June Post Ops!

Luckily insurance is paying so my out of pocket will be minimal. I am thinking December 1. I have a business trip in early October and thought if I do December 1 it is after thanksgiving and a full 3 weeks until Christmas. After losing my mom this year the holidays will not be the same so recovery at that time might be good. The surgeon's office is calling me tomorrow to confirm if that works. I work at the hospital where the surgery will be done and know the surgeon really well so I am super excited!!! Part of me wants to do it now but waiting until December might be good so I can continue working out and getting as cardiovascular fit as possible.

    lower body lift

I don't mind but it won't help because it isn't a commercial plan. I work for a Healthcare organization that self insures with a private plan. The rules are so strict that is why I was so happy. I have friends with one of the blues and she had to fight to get them to pay for a panilectomy

    lower body lift

I am not sure! I had my consult and was told insurance rarely pays. I told them I'd like them to submit it to see and if they denied I would self pay. I really had no documentation for any problems. But I can say anyone looking at my naked picture would agree that losing close to 150 lbs does take quite a toll on skin. Other than lower back pain and the way it looked I had no complaints. I almost fell out of my chair when I got the call. I really thought I'd be self pay. It was such a nice surprise!!!

    lower body lift

I am going to take 6 weeks off. I've scheduled it for December 1st so I'll be home through the holidays and it is slow that time of year. I am so excited!! I'd love to do it now but have a business trip planned in late September. I figured the beginning of December would be perfect!

    lower body lift

My surgeon said 4-6 weeks off minimum but I wondered if he was just being conservative. I am nervous about the procedure but excited too. I believe it will help me feel like I've accomplished everything I've worked so hard for. I am 129 lbs and wear a size 6 petite now. People tell me all the time how tiny I am but when I look at myself naked in the mirror, all I see is the skin. My stomach skin is pretty bad so I'm glad they approved the whole thing. I'm kind of over the moon tonight but am sure reality will set once I set a date for the actual surgery. I am thinking I may do it closer to the fall so I can go through the holiday's at home.

    lower body lift

Thanks!! I now need to figure out the schedule piece. For those of you who've had a lower body lift, how long did you take off from work if you have an office job?

    June Post Ops!

I'm in the process of waiting to find out if insurance will pay for my lower body lift. I doubt they will but I'm trying anyway. If not I have decided I'll self pay. It's worth it and I have worked hard and want to feel finished. My car is 17 years old and I am worth more than a new car.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

My weight has been stabile for two month at 130. But I have dropped from an 8 petite to a 6 petite and even bought a 2/4 petite in a dress. So while weight wise I haven't dropped, size wise I have that is an NV righr?
