    Help!

It will be easier than you think. Bring yourself some frozen yogurt. You can do it!
  2. Luckily all of the food brought was served with chips so I could not eat it. Yay! I did enjoy a few cocktails with my friends. I stayed hydrated and drank Water all through the night as well. So I did have some unnecessary calories but I rarely drink so this is the 1 out of 5 times a year for me.
  3. Hello, I had the sleeve done 3 weeks ago. I just had a friend get the lap band this week. Can anyone tell me the difference in recovery? Is it faster or less painful at all? I worry because I took 3 weeks off and she is only taking 3 days. I just want to be able to give her advise if she asks but don't want to "baby" her.
  4. I carry most all of my weight in my upper body. It seems to me like I am loosing all my weight in my a**..............Pants look horrible on me. How can I build up my butt?Anyone know of a good work out.
  5. I took the week before my diet wrote down a few things I may never be able to have again...and made a menu of what I would have the last week. I really only picked the ones I would really really miss. I still wish I would have added Subway to that list....but oh well. I am happy as can be with the choice I have made. I know the below I can maybe have a bit of eventually in.........but will I really want to risk that path again?? Tempera Shrimp Roll pizza Shrimp Alfredo ( Dad's recipe) Beef Stroganoff ( Dad's recipe) Bacon cheese Burger 12 oz Prime Rib with sauteed mushrooms Blizzard Candy Bar coffee COFFEE COFFEE
  6. Thank you all, I did read somewhere that the loss of hair is equivalent to what you loose after child birth. I have had two kids, so if that is the amount I will be missing it is nothing new to me and I feel much more comfortable with that.
  7. So I am scared to loose to much hair. Does anyone have any recommendation to help minimize the amount I loose? I HONESTLY am having a hard time eating, not because of pain or discomfort. I really have no urge to eat. The only think I really want is my bedtime frozen greek yogurt. Otherwise I have a really hard time eating all the food I am allowed or suppose to eat daily. I do take my Vitamins though and make an honest effort to force the Protein day.

    Hands?

I am 3 weeks out and I can already tell a difference in my rings, so I think they will shrink.
  9. So I am 3 weeks out, feeling normal. No more pain or discomfort when getting out of bed or standing up So basically I feel almost back to myself again. When is it safe to start jogging or adding core muscle workouts to your routine? I am currently just walking on a treadmill during my lunch hour at work. Also I am on the "chopped up or soft food stage". My book from the NUT says my meals should not be more than 1/2 cup or 3/4 ............I average about 1/2 cup or a little less. I have still never felt the "full" feeling yet because I am terrified of getting sick or not loosing. Any thoughts on this, I usually have a small snack in the morning and afternoon. Not to fill me up but to make sure I am getting enough Protein. Is this ok or should I try to get more in on my 3 meals. I don't want to be the snacker that doesn't loose weight. Thank you!
  10. I have a 4 year old and a 10 month old. My husband had to take care of the smallest the most for about the 2 weeks. You have to be really careful with picking them up at the beginning. My 4 year old helped a lot with picking things up from the floor and what not. Take it easy for sure.

    Telling People After surgery

I didn't tell any of my co workers either. I simply say thank you, I am doing a high Protein, small portions, and workout. I didn't want to have conversations around my surgery.

    Day 7! Eat!

Oh also for chili, I too use Turkey in mine............it is delicious!

    Day 7! Eat!

Make sure you are eating very slow. I would make tuna salad, I would cut off the skin, take out the seed, pour some pickle juice and a little bit of mayo. I then chopped it up very finely....oh and I added a hard boiled egg.
  14. I was on my pain meds for 1 week and took 2 weeks off of work. I had surgery on 11/25/13 and I honestly.......almost feel normal today. I still have some pain in my larger incision that my stomach was removed from BUT I can still feel it somewhat and it is very minimal. Everyone heals differently, I strained myself about 1 week ago so it may have taken me longer than usual. Everyday gets a little better, take it easy for a few days and rest up so you can heal. Good luck! I am so very happy I am finally feeling normal. I no longer have to hold my stomach to stand up

    New to this

    Welcome!
  16. Lip balm and lotion, hospital air seems to dry me out. After surgery I enjoyed split pea soup blended but that was my preference. I personally took advantage of my time in the hospital and slept for most of the time in there. Good luck!

    Itching like crazy!

I would call you doctor, pain medicine can make you itch.
  18. So before I ask this question, let me just say "Yes, I am aware of the empty calories and this should not be a habit." Is there any other reason besides the calories as to why you should not drink alcohol? I am young, I want to be able to go out and enjoy a drink or two with my friends occasionally. With that being said I usually only go out about 5 times a year. Thoughts??
  19. So the last few days I have felt light headed and almost a tingly feeling throughout my body..... is this normal. I am hydrated.......what else could this be caused from?
  20. She may be jealous OR she may be worried about you, making sure you don't have a disorder. I don't know the lady so I can make that determination. I also decided not to tell the people I work with. When people ask me I say I am doing high Protein, good choices, and portion control. If they pressure me more or comment on the amount of food I am eating I explain to them that I am closely in touch with a dietitian so I know what I am consuming is safe along with my visits to the gym, weight loss is all about calories in vs. calories burned. Or you could just tell her to mind her own business.......LOL. I feel like what you are describing is EXTREMELY rude and overbearing.
  21. Sooooooooo is sucking on piece of sugar free candy cheating??

    Divorce after bariatric surgery

I agree with a statement above regarding that the marriage was not a happy marriage before only because the person stayed in the marriage because that was comfortable with them and their weight. My husband and I were on the same page we are doing this (he didn't have surgery but is on a diet) to become a healthier family unit. I was skinny when I met my husband but he has stuck with me throughout my weight gain and NEVER commented on my body figure once. I love him with all of my heart.........I couldn't imagine a divorce after this. He is my soul mate and we have a wonderful little family. I can see how it could be hard if you are married to an extremely unhealthy person after this who continues to make you day to day lifestyle change hard for you. But in that case I think the other person may need to be talked, I know my hubby cheats but he hides all temptation from me. He does this to make my transition easier.
  23. That is awesome! I didn't tell anyone at work besides my Sup and Manager and a co-worker stopped me in the hall and said...WOW...have you been loosing weight? What are you doing? I just said portion control and high Protein. It felt good. Good for you!
  24. I am on pureed/blenderized foods right now. I see the laxative and fart city remark to be true. I usually only have my coffee flavored one in the morning. I doesn't make me miss my coffee as much.
