  1. So I had my surgery on the 6th was supposed to go home by today but they want me to stay another day because I have not been getting enough fluids. 1-2 oz per hour. They want me to drink 5-6 oz per hour. That seems like a lot. ???? I miss my babies at home. Other than that everything else is okay. Trying to pass this gas which doesn't seem to want to come out. I burp a few times though but that's it.

    Manic Monday.....

Thank you guys I went in this morning so far everything is going good. I can't believe I am over on the post op side of things now. I was so nervous this morning I was seriously thinking about bolting out the door 30 min before surgery lol I woke up with some pain (gas) and the nurses quickly took care of that problem. Been super tired all day. I walked twice so far but each time I feel extreme burst of nausea which I believe is coming from my medication so I'm going to try and see how I feel without pushing that little medication button thing so I can walk more. I been eating my ice chips (stage 1) 1 oz of tiny ice chips per hour. All the nurses were complimenting what a nice job my surgeon did on my tummy looks small I guess? - I won't look yet!!! Lol Drifting off to sleep again I'll update more in the morning. Thank you guys for all your support you have no idea how much it means to me.

    Have fun on your vaca!
  12. I just got the ok from the weight loss center for Mirena. Thank god because my periods are super heavy too. Paragard was tempting as it last TEN years - I have 5 kids so I'm definitely done having children. Paragard makes periods heavier so hmmm that's a no brainer right there Mirena it is. Della your doctor sounded evil I would have reported that because that doesn't sound right to me. I probably would cried. It's not to late to leave her reviews online ; ) I was just approved from my insurance for gastric bypass. Next is my final pre op class. I'm getting nervous.
  13. I was told I can get the arm implant or an IUD ( I forget the name of the IUD apparently there are two different ones) Im hoping for the mirena as I was told by my OB that will help lighten or even stop my already heavy periods that I have. Paragard sounds nice as it lasts 10 years but OB told me they tend to make some women's periods heavier. That wouldn't be good anyway you would think for someone who would be at higher risk for an iron deficiency wouldn't you think? The arm implant I was told by OB has made a lot of his patients GAIN weight. Any thoughts on this?
  14. That's the spirit. I know my mantra is this too shall pass. It ll all be put behind us eventually. Glad they are taking good care of ya!
  15. Are you at home now how are you doing?

    The Pre-Op Journey

Awesome! 2 weeks is the hardest part I think. For me much easier after that.
  17. that sucks!! glad u kept your room.
  18. It feels the same as when I was expecting for the first time (pregnant) excited scared nervous it's all I think about until the big day comes!

    Pre surgery diet

Some do some don't. It just depends on what your surgeon feels comfortable with.
  20. Some do some don't. Some surgeons want the liver to shrink smaller so they can see the pouch better.
  21. At my appointment last Friday I got released by the last person in my program (my NUT) and now they will be sending in my papers to my insurence (BCBS) and so I guess now I wait!! I have my final pre op nutrition class about 3 weeks from now. I already ordered my vitamins. I don't even know where to start with protein drinks! I have to be on them for two weeks before surgry (along with the acceptable food list) I'm really excited and nervous at the same time. It's almost like finding out I'm pregnant with my first baby!!!

    So it begins....

that's a really good question no I don't think your being period. I gain abt 3-4 lbs in water weight right before my period then drop it again abt 2-3 days into my period. i would imagen that would not be a plm unless it was a huge gain like 10 lbs 15 lbs or something? parinoid* not period ha.
  23. I'm curious did you contact your weight loss center and sign up yet? do you have orientation or a first appointment ?
  24. u probably have another month left to wait your cordnator can tell you how long insurence process typically takes for an appeal with your insurence. also they will tell you why your insurence denied you to begin with. call your cordnator that's what they are there for to help you through the appeal process and answer any questions you have.
  25. it seems realistic to me FOR YOU because your starting weight is 220s... most people on gastric bypass lose around 100 lbs and up... the doctors go by a calculator and they subtract 70 percent of your extra weight but they told me that its just est and that many go past their calculations. they told me they predicted 150 for my current height and weight but for sure i will drop an extra 20 for show ha!
