  1. I'm in Dayton and would love to have a support group. My surgeon's office has one but with my work schedule the meetings rarely work out.
  2. Seymour (from Little Shop of horrors) I know that's not the plants name but when my tummy talks I say feed me Seymour, makes my three year old laugh

Dayton here! I'll have to look for you!
  6. So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but the scale is not only not going down but I've actually gained almost five pounds in two weeks! I track my food in my fitness pal and I've started light weight lifting over the past week. I also started back to work, could it really be from not getting enough fluids??? So down hearted and frustrated
  7. I was sleeved 12/18. First follow up appt today and I'm down 49 lbs. Thought surgeon would be excited for me but he just said it was to be expected from a high bmi. Lots of issues with nausea, got more meds to help hopefully or else I go back for IV fluids next week. Here's to less nausea and more drinking (well, the right kind of fluids that is!)
  8. I'm 11 days post op sleeve. I have this constant underlying nausea that nothing seems to help. Any ideas for helping ease this other than my phenergan?
  9. My journey began officially 10/24/13 when I called to make the surgeon appt. I saw the psychologist in 10/28, my family dr 10/31 and the surgeon 10/31. I had nut appt the following Thursday. Got my approval mid Nov and they worked me in on Dec 18. I lost 16lbs on the pre op diet (and gained 2 back from "food funerals"). Surgery went well except my oxygen levels wouldn't stay up, even when awake, so I came home on 02. Had some issues with nausea but always do after surgery, so nothing new. So here I am five days out and down a total of twenty lbs since pre op. Yes my head wants food but my new tummy tells me otherwise. I can't handle ice water (but love ice chips?) And swallowing pills is hard, find myself gagging. I use my fitness pal app to keep track of protein and so far I've either met or come close to protein goal minimum of 60. This has been a hard journey but I'm finally doing something for me! I really appreciate these forums, it helps to know that things get better!
  10. I've had the same issues so I've had to alter my protein. I've been using unjury unflavored protein and adding it to soup. Just make sure to keep temp under 140 or it will clump like eggs.
  11. My date is the 18th. I've been doing surprisingly well on the pre op diet til today. I had an all day pre op testing and education with nothing to eat or drink since last night. By the time I got done I was so hungry, shaky and had a bad headache so I pulled into McDonald's and got a sandwich. I'm so upset that the whole reason I cheated was because of the testing. I'm getting right back on it tonight but I'm so frustrated.

    Ohio Sleeve patients?

I'm having mine at Miami Valley Hosp in Dayton on Dec 18 with Dr Siddiqui. What takes all day for the pre op testing? I'd like to go to the support meeting in Dec but it said it was the Christmas party.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

I just got my surgery date of Dec 18! I started 10/28 with psych eval, surgeon 10/31, nut 11/7. Feel like this is meant to be! Anyone else not really saying anything to most people? I just don't want to hear the negative nellies!
