    Halloween Challenge!

Can I join in. I'm 172. Goal 159. Let me know if I am too late.
  2. I went with the Sleeve because I did not struggle with Reflux or indigestion. I also had less to lose than some and that is also a factor. I am now maintaining and still don't struggle with reflux. I have lost 94 pounds from my highest weight and am no longer on a CPAP machine. So it is very individual. I was up and down my whole life and was capable of losing the weight but unable to keep it off which is not good physically or emotionally. The sleeve was the boost I needed to keep it off. Life is good.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Surgery Date 12/8/2013. Down 96 lbs. Weight 157 Goal 155. I would like to stay between 152 and 155 even if I just stay below 158 I'm happy. I'm 5'7" and in a size 8 life is great. I'm basically concentrating on exercising and toning. I also concentrate on protein first. I struggled when I was overweight and this surgery has given me freedom. I don't want my life to be about my weight. I could say I want to be at 140 lbs but really I want to celebrate all I've accomplished and live life to the fullest. I look amazing just as I am. I refuse to beat myself up over a number. Wherever my body feels happy that is where I will stay. Congratulations to everyone. What an accomplishment.

    Sleep apnea and sleeve surgery

Yes it is very important to have another test done to be sure the sleep apnea is gone. Not everyone's sleep apnea is weight related.

    Sleep apnea and sleeve surgery

I was told many times to make sure to bring my CPAP machine for the surgery. It is very important with sleep apnea as you can stop breathing through the night many times depending on the severity of your sleep apnea condition and without it can be very dangerous. Especially after surgery. I am nine months out from surgery now and I haven't used my CPAP in four months as my sleep apnea was weight related. My Specialist sent me for testing just to be sure this condition is gone. I can't tell you how awesome it is not have to wear my CPAP every night. I am 3 pounds from goal and hopefully when you get to that point you won't have to wear yours either. Good luck.

Still a Newbie at 9 Mths?

    Thank you. Good to know.
  7. This is from a conversation I tried to get into on Vet Forum. I am 9 months out, but it did not allow me to ask the question. My question is How do I add friends. Do I do it through Facebook. It is asking me if I want to add through Facebook, email or contacts. But I only have everyone's user name. I would really like to get snack ideas and learn more through other VSG friends. I have been doing Fitness Pal since the beginning. I am now a couple pounds from goal. Let me know. Greatly appreciated. When am I a vet. It still states on my profile that I am a newbie.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Thank you Mythgirl for your support. I have been in a stall for ten days but felt the need to have some caffeine. I am not too stressed about the stall; I take it as my body adjusting to my new sleeve and the fact that we are eating so much less. I am sure my body is in shock. I was able to lose 20 during the liquid diet and 11 since December 18 surgery date. So I am down 31 which is great. Every pound counts if I hadn't had the surgery I would be the same weight or more so the last thing I want to do is complain at this point. Thank you for responding you made my day.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi I have a question. I am four weeks out. Am I allowed to have a tall skinny latte with one pump of vanilla. I guess the real question is can I have an ounce of espresso once a day.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Hi I had my surgery done on December 18 I am doing very well it's five days out now and I feel great. Day two and three were the hardest for me but that went by quickly. I think it had a little to do with the lady that was in my room with me. She was a year younger and was waiting on a Liver transplant it really got me thinking about life and health. Because I was weak and emotional I thought why did I do this and how come I could not do it on my own. And now I feel so blessed I feel like I have a new start - I feel wonderful and full of energy. Good luck to everyone. ????

    Fort Worth Buddies?

Yes I guess whatever works. I think it's going to be hard going out for lunch with people that don't know - that'll be interesting. I haven't told anyone at work but some friends know. I'm usually somewhat of a hermit and need to be more honest with friends so I think this is a good way to start. I guess when everyone's gained weight after the holiday season you and I we will be down. Have to keep looking at all the positives.
