    Hiw does it feel.

I do feel a sense of satisfaction or fullness when I eat about 6 oz of food., even less when I eat meat. ( I am 5 months post op. ) When I feel full., I start disliking the food in front of me. A couple of times I ate too much felt absolutely miserable. Of course eating too much now is a much smaller portion than before my surgery when I could binge and never feel full. I love my sleeve and what it has done to reducing my hunger. One thing you have to keep in mind is telling the difference between head hunger vs real physical hunger. It is important to know the difference since head hunger does pop it's ugly head sometimes. When it does, I check with my tummy and determine if I am physically .. When I get head hunger (mostly due to stress or tiredness) I decompress and don't feed my feelings.

    Really here!

Wishing you a speedy recovery after surgery. I was also nervous the night before surgery. But it went all well.
  3. Once upon a time..I had a husband who felt the same way your husband. does. Don't feel you have to substantiate anything to your husband ....he should respect your decision . Your husband does not have an eating buddy like he did before your surgery. Change is hard for some of the spouses who has to come to terms with the wls. Keep your head up high and embrace your new eating habits.

    OMG! NSV!

Congrats on your Nsv. I am told that I look so young for my age of 60. I feel like I am 40. The weight loss has certainly added years to my life with better health . And the weight loss took years off of looking aged.

    Stalls mess with your head!

Rather than thinking stalls as negative.. Think stalls as a time to prove you can persevere, time to make changes to your eating habits that will stick for a lifetime. You are probably losing inches.. So the scale is not the only barometer of success. My weight is now moving slow..but that does give me permission to not reaching my goals.. Hopefully this I helps.
  6. Wishing u a speedy recovery.

Scared I wont be able to do this

Follow your dr / nutritionist food plan and it will all work, out. Did you get a food plan for post op and all the stages you have to follow. The longer you make the sleeve work for you...the more you will be confident that it will all work out. Is there is a support group that u can attend for encouragement and settle some of the fears you are having.

    So sad. worked so hard

I understand your disappointment. I have been on this path for years and years of yo- yo ing. Don't despair. There is hope with the gastric sleeve tool. The past is the past..so look forward. Start looking at what cues make you go to food. Head hunger is real and you will have to face this demon even after the surgery. The more we know why we go to food.. The better chance we have to combat it. .

8 Months Out and 122 Down!

Wow what a transformation. Yes, we will all have to deal with head hunger. However, the sleeve gave me the ability to easily determine head hunger vs "real hunger". Since Sept , 2013 I see a psychologist who, specializes in food relationship, I,e, emotional eating in addition to a nut who helps me with my food plan and my relationship with food..especially my old habits.

    Potluck: What to bring?

Sounds great.. It is nutritious for your guest also. If it is hard for you to be around the food at the potluck. Just walk into another room where there are guests to have conversations rather than having the food stare at you a: you,

    now for the waiting....

I have UHC and got approved on first round. Received approval with no pre op diet in a week ..I guess they saw all my efforts on my previous dr supervised diets and trealized that diets don't work for me since I have yoyo'd for years. Wishing you good luck ..I am sure it will all work out.

    Sharing some thoughts..

I bought a majic bullet for 99 dollars at Macy's. .. Wow what a bargain $35 .. Yes I had the same realization that eating has changed for me. More aware of head vs emotional hunger....my stomach is now working in my favor. I had not had the "full" feeling for years..so matter how much is the. Such a nice feeling. I now have a good relationship between my head and my stomach. I listen to my stomach when I eat and stop eating when I feel my stomach when it is time to stop.

    becoming a health coach/personal trainer

Search the internet and see what the going rate is. You may want to start a little lower tho get more clients..and they may want their friends to you. I see a psychologist who specializes in this same services that you will provide as far as rmotional eating ....she charges $142.00 for a 50 minutes session. That is great that you are embarking on this journey to help others. Good luck coming your way.

    so upset

Talk with your mom about how important that date is for you and you don't want to postpone your surgery. Ask here to tell her sis that she had an obligation .that was already set.and to find someone else. Wasn't this something she knew before her sister's request ? Stand up for yourself. If your mom won't budge..can u stay say someone else's house. After my surgery, I did not need care from someone. However, my daughter did check on me during the day while my husband was set work. Good luck.

    16 months and counting...

Wow.. What snacks accomplishment.. Good for u.
  22. My suggestion..go to a psychologist that specializes in emotional eating. One that can help you with your relationship with food. I have been seeing one since October, 2013.
  23. I am taking biotin. Which helps with hair loss after sleeve surgery. My hair is not falling out. Even my legs are hairier lately .. . Now I have to shave my legs again.
