I think I might be scale crazy too. I don't lose steadily. I'll lose 3 pounds 1 day and then nothing for 2 days. Is that typical?

Curious about everyone's stats and what their surgeons and nuts have said about it. I'm 6 weeks out and down 35 pounds..at first my surgeon said it was too fast but it's slowed over the past 2 weeks and my nut said I'm right on track...how about you guys? How many weeks out and how many pounds lost?

Hey guys. This morning I woke up with what feels like the symptoms of a bad cold. On top of that I have been vomiting everything I have tried to eat or drink today. No water or food the whole day. I feel really light headed and when I'm awake all I can do is try not to dry heave. No stomach pains or fever though...should I go to the ER? Or just wait it out?

I got through my stall!! I've been stalled at 25 pounds lost since Feb 12th for about 2 weeks. I added really light exercise and down 3 more pounds this morning. 28 pounds since Feb 12th...feels really great!!

I've had a rough recovery from my sleeve. Week 2 I was in the hospital with extreme nausea and unable to eat for about 6 days. I'm on week 4 now and have transitioned to soft food. It seems like everyday I make at least 1 bad choice because of head hunger. I will have a little nibble of bread or a couple cheese nips. It's so frustrating to me that I keep giving in. Today I told myself no more-but made it through the whole day making great choices then right before bed ate a whole serving size of cheese nips. Has anyone struggled this way and been able to turn it around? I'm such a defeatist when it comes to my weight I already feel like at failure at just 4 weeks out

Thanks for the encouragement you guys. I had done pretty well the past few days but kinda blew it today. I've talked to my family about having things like crackers around. I have a 2 year old in the house and all of her snacks are appetizing. I gained 2 pounds after a 4 day stall. I have yet to meet my protein goal. I'm really suffering from a lack of variety. I've decided tomorrow to go find a cook book and start to change my menu enough that I don't break down at the end of the night and eat cheese its!

I am almost 4 weeks out and have completely stopped taking vitamins. I would almost vomit every time I took them. My NUT suggested the bariatric fusion chewables. I really need to find an alternative to those because I'm starting to feel the deficiency. Any suggestions?

I was like you but it was no big deal. The first 5 hours after surgery i didn't even know it was there lol. Trust me you'll be thinking about other things those first few days. Removal is fast and it kinda just feels like you're peeing when they pull it out.

I am not a parent but I grew up with a VERY critical mother. She had something to say every time I put food in my mouth and subconsciously this drove me to eat more and more. I was always sneaking food to avoid judgement and I felt like I was always starving because of her restrictions. It always bothered me but I didn't connect the dots on how detrimental to my health her judgements were until I was older. My mom was never overweight and I think that caused a big disconnect in the message she was sending. It's obvious you love your daughter a lot and you have real insight into her struggle. It's touching for me to see how much you want to approach this correctly and I really applaud you on that. I wish my mom was more like that! I'm not too far out of my teens and I always thought how much more active I wish I was then. It might be worth looking into some sports or after school clubs she could get involved in. I wish my mom had supported me playing a sport through school. Maybe have a talk about her interests and be really involved in her exploring some activities. It helps to get the whole family involved so she doesn't feel singled out. Good luck to you! It's not an easy subject but you're doing great by being so careful. She's lucky to have you!

I had to do a drug test the morning of and 1 week before surgery.

Hi guys, I posted last night about a little mishap I had transitioning to soft foods which involved something that was too spicey and my body wasn't ready for. For the past 20 hours I have a burning sensation not in my stomach but it feels like my intestines. The stomach is on my left side and this pain is just to the right of my belly button. It really burns like I have a match inside my abdomen. It hurts when I move. anyone felt this before?

I wish...The other hospital here does not have a bariatric program. It's really frustrating to me that I can be scared off by the people I paid thousands of dollars to take care of me. I felt this pain right out of surgery and I described it to the PA who told me it was gas (with the most attitude she could muster) I described it as a pulling pain that's developed more into burning after that chilli. Does anyone know if there is an eternal stitch down there that could be irritated? Thanks for the kind words and sharing your own experiences it's making me feel so much better

My doctor gets SO annoyed when you call him. They already treat me like crap. Last time I was at the office I left crying because his assistant threatened me with a feeding tube until I could "prove" that I could eat or drink. It was a nightmare. I'm sure you guys are right though. I'm debating just going to an urgent care just to make sure it's not super serious

So I have transitioned to soft foods and have been full since morning on about 2 OZ of scrambled eggs. I did bring myself to eat so I could get closer to my Protein goal... but I think I ate the wrong thing. I first tried some ground turkey meat seasoned like tacos will a little bit of cheese, but the meat so was so dry and was hard to swallow. So I had some chili that the rest of the family had the in the crockpot all day. It was really wet and mostly ground beef-it went down great. NOW my stomach is doing all sorts of things...I have sharp pains and I'm fighting back heartburn. The pain almost feels like incision pain, the sharp pain you get when you bend down. Is this familiar to anyone? This is my second day having soft food so I'm not shocked I made a bad choice. I think the meat was fine it was just too spicy!!

Yikes! I'll have to really readjust. My NUT gave me a list of approved meal and ground turkey was on it was ground beef was not just yet. thanks for the advice guys. Is this burning stomach pain pretty common after a mess-up like this?

I'm so sorry to hear that. My entire hospital stay I was treated with more respect by nurses and CNAs than I was by my docotor. The problem was really my doctors assistant. I had complications with my sleeve that landed me in the hospital a second time. I was having trouble keeping liquids down and was really dehydrated. After a swallow test they determined that liquid was getting stuck in my esophagus. I was in the hospital for a few days then sent home with a PICC line in my arm to have at home intervenous nutrition. I was really unhappy about this. My PICC line was causing me a lot of pain and after one treatment both of the lines were clogged. My next appointment was with his assistant who insisted NOTHING was wrong with my PICC line. She didn't even touch it or try to flush the lines. She said to me "I have a plan- how about we put a feeding tube down your nose until you can prove to me that you can eat or drink-you can handle that right? Cause you're strong" in the MOST demeaning tone I have ever heard in my life. LIke I was choosing not to drink anything. She blamed everything on my anxiety. She told me my home health nurse might have said something was wrong with my PICC Line but shes wrong and nothing is wrong with it. She insisted that I couldn't feel it and it was all in my head. WheN I told her that I was frustrated and didn't think things were being explained to me very well she flipped her computer screen around with alll the attitude she could and went through each of my medications like she was speaking to a child. SHe prescribed me anxiety meds (which I"m am not taking) and said "Lets face it..you've had anxiety since day 1. Like thats a crime. I left my appointment in tears and when the front desk tried to reschedule me next week with her I told them I refused to see her again and if I was coming back it would be to meet with the doctor. Who I'm not entirely sure will be much nicer. Everyone was so great until I didn't heal correctly from my surgery then they treated me like absolute crap. My next appointment I am going to bring someone with me and if I get talked down to again I will walk out and find another doctor. I just couldn't believe it. I'm so disappointed in my experience post op. I dont understand where it makes them feel good to treat people like that.

Weirdest thing ever and I never had it pre surgery. .but one side of my face keeps getting flush and hot. My skin doesn't turn red...my color is fine but the left side of my face is just so hot
