I do not deny myself happy hour on the weekends. But I definitely get my butt into the gym the next day.

    great amazing wonderful post
I wonder if a difference between those that lose 60 lbs and those that continue on to lose the extra 40 lbs is just getting back up after a slip and carrying on? Maybe that's determination, I don't know. It's hard after a slip or a weight gain to get back on the horse.
Maybe too, others are okay with that 60% of weight loss.
    Thanks for your insights

From what I've been reading lately, it is no longer thought that eggs raise your cholesterol that much and that they are really healthy. I eat an average of three eggs per day in various forms.
I think you're doing great to find protein from other sources. There are many veggies with good amounts of protein. I've been eating really healthy and keep track of what I eat in my fitness pal. I've cut out most carbs like bread and pasta. I will eat healthy carbs like beans. I find that most days, without really trying, I reach my protein goals. Sounds like you're really doing a good job. It's all about finding good things to eat. Best wishes.

Good for you! Walking and exercise are so important to success. Just don't push yourself too hard. You've got plenty of time to build up. Have fun with mushies. It was my least favorite stage. I could not stomach the idea of eating food from a blender. I did have mashed potatoes a couple of times and Mac N Cheese, but I decided they were old habit foods and tried to stay away from them. Once I made some refried beans mixed with low fat ricotta cheese topped with mozzarella. Heated and then a little dollop of fat free sour cream. It was so delicious! (When that's all you can have, lol). Best wishes!

The internet seems to bring out all of the Negative Nellies. Most people, (unless they follow a forum like us) don't think of posting success on the internet. Really, the band has to work the majority of the time and not have a huge complication rate or insurance companies would not be paying for it. They are all about the bottom line. Thankfully, smart people like you and me can read between the lines and not believe everything we watch or read. I figure the people who don't realize that, may be the people who wouldn't be very successful with WLS anyway. Good blog!

I can attest to all of that because I was going to do it. I lost more then 60% of my weight. It's all about choices and what we choose to do. It will not come off all by its self and you have to work at it. For those that didn't and have no appetite or want food then good for you but for the most part most of us worked hard. I never cheated one day while losing and that is why I reached my goal. Patience and honesty will get you where you need to be.

You should find an upscale consignment shop in any large city and buy yourself some new duds that fit during these phases Johnny! Enjoyed your tale. My husband has clothes 3x to large, stored and boxed in two houses, because he is a serious hoarder. Trouble is there is there are things like some lime green polyester plaid pants (no he never played golf). His 50-lb weight loss has kept him the baggy 3x so far. This shall be very interesting, like you! Keep up the story telling. I enjoyed!

Bless your heart! You've really been through the wringer. I hope everything starts going well for you. And don't feel too sorry for that girl. I've taken care of plenty of patients just like her. You don't get to the point of having your kids taken and your family rejecting you if you haven't had some part in it.
I hope everything goes much better for you now. Best wishes on your wieght loss!

My first thought was that it's proabably a good idea not to tell everyone, for the exact reasons you listed. My second thought was, how sad that we feel like we have to hide this from others. I too, kept is from most people until after my surgery. Then I did tell everyone and I regret doing that too. It's hard because we want those around us to share and support our experiences, but that's not how it always ends up.
You may be making the right choice. Stay positive. Until those people have walked in your shoes.....

Nancy, isn't it nice that at least there is a place like this where you can find like-minded people? I'm just starting out, going to my first session at the WL center in 10 days. I haven't mentioned my desire for a gastric sleeve to a soul other than my wife. And I researched and thought about it for a couple of months before I even told her about it. I wish you the best!

I buy a fat free raspberry vinaigrette that is very tasty and sweet. I bet the kids would like it.

I like your sense of humor! Keep going to the gym. Yes, you may have to take care of other people, but take care of you first.

Six days is a long time. I would definitely help it along. I'm almost 6 weeks out from surgery and I don't go poo near as much as I did before surgery. Maybe every 2 or 3 days now. I was concerned because I used to go 2 to 3 times a day! Really though, we're eating so much less. There is a lot less to get rid of and your body is making the most of what out does get.
    Congrats on your surgery!

I sweat enough as it is! This gym thankfully doesn't have mirrors. It does have a dark room with a giant screen that plays a movie if you'd rather do that, but I like my music.

Is there any way to have your husband be responsible for the meals? It would be hard to cook when you can't have it.
I found after three days, I stopped being quite as hungry. You can do it! Best wishes!

I had two wine events this week and it definitely stalls my weight loss -- plus I think I make poorer decisions about food. No wine this week for me either, and no whining! Have a great day -- and good luck tomorrow with your fill.

Yeah, one time the week after, I thought I was just gonna toot and well....you know. They were liquidy for a while. Then like the second week I couldn't go at all. I recommend adding benefiber to your food or drinks (you can't even tell its there). Or take a chewable laxative. Best wishes!
