    Employer exclusion question

You can only appeal a denied claim. You will not even be able to submit a claim because your policy doesn't cover WLS. That is unfortunate.
  2. Ladies: Here is my incentive to make the most of my sleeve! An entire dressing room filled with all my best threads, shoes, bags, accessories! Mostly everything in this room came from second hand (not clothes or shoes) stores. Curio cabinets, vanity, mirror, velvet chairs, artwork....EVERYTHING second hand. I designed this room on a dime and I am so excited to think I can fit into my old (pre-preg) clothes soon!!!! Have a look and tell me what you think! Thanks. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152620040569829&l=5415225994314283137

    Recovery time

I have a 3 year old son. You can't lift for a good 4 weeks but your child is 4 so should not be that much of an issue. You can usually return to work in 2 weeks if you have a desk job. If you do any type of lifting it's usually 4 weeks. You will need help at home b/c you will feel ok barring no complications by the time you get home BUT you are EXTREMELY fatigued. It is major surgery. You will need as much help as possible the first week and some 'breaks' the following. I took 3 weeks off... I go back this Monday and I am so ready. Hope this helps.

    Quitting Smoking

have you considered acupuncture? I know two ppl who quit that way. Worth looking into.

    I cheated .. Bad!

I am going to be totally honest here..... I cheated too. Couple times. I was so worried my liver would be big and slippery and they wouldn't be able to perform surgery. To make matters worse I have high cholesterol so one could assume I have an even 'fattier' liver than someone who does not. My surgeon said my liver was just fine and everything went very smooth. Try and stay on course now. Forget about it, move on and do better tomorrow.

    Quitting Smoking

try vaping. Vapor cigs with no nicotine or very very low nicotine. Works for a lot of ppl! You must not smoke though. It will impede your healing, increase your risks of complications.. it is just bad bad bad. Please quit if you plan on having any type of surgery.

    Pre op questions:

This forum is great... you won't necessarily 'click' with everyone on here but such is life. It is a GREAT resource. Any questions you have shoot away. For the most part the ppl here are so encouraging and inspiring!!! I had my sleeve Feb 3 so I am by no means an expert but I am freshly post op so my memory of what is soon to come for you has not faded. Try not to worry so much. I am essentially a single mom too and definitely the main bread winner so I was really starting to worry if something went wrong but every time I began to have negative thoughts I remembered how many ppl with children (single and married) have done this and done well. Do your research, ask a lot of questions, read over your post op instructions, know how to advance your diet, have realistic expectations and get excited for this radical transformation.

    Pre op questions:

  19. Hi Kathy: I was sleeved the same day. Welcome to the forum!
  20. I decided I am going to weigh myself once a month on my surgery anniversary date. I am not going to be stalking my scale anymore!

Good Idea! Yes when losing weight it's easy to become a slave to the scale. There's so many other ways to know and feel yourself melting beside the number on that scale. I walked in my door the other night from celebrating my sweeties birthday, with hands full, and by the time i got in the house my pants were down to my knees. Yep another pair to give away. :) I have found that the tape measure is a better friend than the scale. If your going to be a scale stalker just remember th...

    FitBit?

I have one. I used to take spin class and it didn't pick up the movement while cycling. I bought a Polar watch. It has a heart monitor that syncs to the watch and tells you how much you burn. Its pretty sweet.

    Question

My surgeon wrote the Rx for InsureNutrition and now I am waiting to see if my insurance will approve it. I hope so because this stuff isn't cheap.

    Question

That a load of shit! Shop around. There are plenty of bariatric protein powders and vitamins out there. Shop around and ask here. I am currently using bariatricfusion but I am waiting to see if my insurance will cover the Protein Shakes. Check out www.insurenutrition.com.
