  1. Traveled all weekend and my eating was a little out of control. At least I got plenty of exercise - back on track today!

  2. I've tried a few of the bars, and so far I only like Apple Pie and strawberry Cheesecake...but I could eat those two every day. The chips are icky, though.
  3. Got to work with my shiny new 32 oz Contigo all filled up with ice and water...and realized I forgot to reattach the damn straw to the lid when it came out of the dishwasher. Whoops.

  4. The biggest unpleasant surprise was the Masonry Poops - I actually do seem to shit bricks. I'm in the "add Fiber and colace" part of trying to get a fissure to go away now. Don't take it lightly when your doctors suggest that you have stuff on hand for post-op for whatever might end up coming out (or not coming out, as the case may be). Use it liberally. Add fiber. Drink lots. Complain often, lol. The BEST surprise was how fast all those obesity related aches and pains started going away. My legs and feet stopped aching within a couple of weeks. No more back pain, stairs aren't as much of an issue as they were the FIRST time I was this weight (and I'm still really large), etc.

    Salad

Aww, I'm so sorry! For me, salad is on the safe list - I know I won't hurk it back up or have any issues. At least without dressing, or with vinaigrette or yogurt dressing. Everything else is sketchy.

You know you lost weight when

You can buy lawn furniture at the drug store. 2 chairs and a table for $28?!
  7. If I eat any more chicken, I'm going to sprout wings.

I do need to do more with fish - I'm not great at cooking it, but I like it when other people make it :).

  8. First time in my life I've ever had to worry about expiration dates and food safety.

    Everyone exercises?

I'm like you, I don't think I'll EVER enjoy exercise. I came out of the womb preferring to curl up in the corner with a book, lol. It's important though, so I try to give myself a lot of options. I have a gym membership and always keep gym clothes in the car, I've got a couple of videos I like at home and some cheap weights I picked up at Five Below, and a Fitbit. When I'm feeling particularly sloth-like and haven't done much for longer than I think is healthy, I'll try to set up a session with a trainer. Once I've sunk the money into it and they expect me to show up, I won't bail - sometimes that's enough to get the momentum going again.
  10. I love Fairlife milk. Tastes normal, more protein!

  11. I'll look for those pea crisps, they sound good!
  12. Eh, if it works for you, do it - if not, don't. If it fits into your plan for the day and you're not making yourself sick trying to shove it all in at once, I'm not sure it matters whether you eat after dinnertime or not.
  13. That awesome moment when someone you didn't think knew you existed notices you've been losing weight...then tells you they lost 100 pounds themselves!

  14. I wanted to love them, but they reminded me of these awful boxes of dried scalloped potatoes (old dried potatoes and yucky powdered cheese) my mother used to buy. Bought one of each flavor, and couldn't give them away at work - people tried them, no one liked them. Not much of a salty snack person, but if I NEEEED something (and sometimes I think we all feel that way), I'm a fan of the Health Wise dill pickle flavored Protein krinkles.
  15. Oh gosh - yeah, you can run into some characters out there! I met a woman in my first class who told me my surgeon was no good, that her surgery was better because she was "only getting cut once" but I was "getting cut 5 times", and that I was going to be unhappy because she was getting a bypass and would lose more weight than me. Sometimes all you can do is nod, smile, and tune out the noise!

    10-15 vitamins a day?

Some of it depends on which brands you choose, too. I found some that I like and my bloodwork is good, but it does amount to a lot of pills. If I switched to something else, I could probably cut the supplements/vitamins in half. AM: 2 fish oil 1 antacid 1 gall bladder pill 1 B12 1 Iron 2 mvi's 1 Vitamin D 2 Fiber gummies 1 Biotin Lunch: 3 calcium (makes 1 serving) Late afternoon: 3 calcium (makes 1 serving) Bedtime: 1 more gall bladder pill 1 anxiety pill 1 blood pressure pill 3 more calcium (for the last 500 mg)

    Travelling 3 months out

My concern would be, if you DO end up there, is the food going to make you sick? Fries make me violently ill now for some reason. You might want to "pre-test" some ground beef prior to the trip, that way you'll know whether you can blend in or need to stick with a side salad and some chicken. I went on a trip at about the 3 month mark, but it was with people who knew I had it done - otherwise it would've been noteworthy. Start playing up how serious you are about this lifestyle change in advance - at 3 months, you should be down enough for THAT to be noticeable too. That'll probably keep you from catching any side-eye about Protein shakes or whatever. Have fun!

    How about some NSVs!?!?

@@Luvin_Life125, YES! I did the same thing this week. When I walked, the old ones were sliding down under my butt cheeks... 0.o

You know you lost weight when

When you try on a smaller bra and someone has to TELL you that the back fat rolls you're freaking out about are actually shoulder blades. Who knew?

    What irritates your sleeve?

I've discovered that, along with my sleeve, I have a built in anti-fried-food switch. Anything fried makes me hurl violently. That's not really a bad thing! I've gone from considering french fries a food group to being terrified of them. Now if I could only find some physiological mechanism to force myself to keep the laundry caught up, I'd be alright!
  21. Finally, officially in size 18 pants :). Picked up 2 new pairs and an outfit for the gym as a treat - and accidentally found a dress, too. Someone left it in the dressing room and it fit, so it must've been meant for me, right?

    1. roundisashape

      roundisashape

It was the dressing room at the store, not the gym - someone tried it on and decided not to buy it

TV Shows - What are you watching ?

Thanks! I was hoping Amazon Prime would have it - they usually have whatever no one else does - but no such luck!
  23. roundisashape

    Teeth clenching?

Did you come home on any different medications? Some meds have that as a side effect.

TV Shows - What are you watching ?

@@kyrickchick64, I'm so frustrated - I didn't know Salem existed until a couple of days ago, and I can't find the first season ANYWHERE! Grr! Oh well, I probably don't need to add MORE tv, right?
  25. So I can remember just a few short years ago (I was around 30), going to the ophthalmologist and being asked if my mom was with me to pay the bill...that is to say, I've always looked younger than I am. Mostly because I always had fry-an-egg-on-it oily skin. Since surgery, my face has dried right up. Oh, I still get acne - I didn't even know those two conditions could coexist! Anyway, I've noticed lately that my face is starting to look...shriveled? I don't know a better way to describe it. Part of it might simply be that I need to focus on drinking more because I rarely make it the whole way to 64oz, and I'm working really hard on that. Right now, I'm taking 5000 mcg of Biotin, using a gentle soap, using Pacifica Sea Change serum in the morning, and Neutrogena oil free moisturizer twice a day. I just bought some fish oil this morning too, but I'm really not sure if the recommended dose on the bottle is the amount I should be taking. Anyone using any other products or supplements that you think might help with this? I can't go with anything too heavy or oily because it exacerbates the acne. Thanks!
