Starting to look like the Crypt Keeper

Thanks! I might have to take that leap - I was trying to avoid it, but it's definitely an option

    shoe size.

That's so exciting! Congrats! One of my friends had a gastric bypass. She used to special order her shoes (even going through cross dresser websites because she likes snazzy heels and ones actually made for women didn't fit). She can get her shoes in any store now, and I'm afraid she'll need to upgrade to a place with an extra bedroom just to store them all!
  3. Wow! The only day I've made it over 800 was the day I found out my sleeve simply doesn't care how many Reese's Pieces I eat (oops). That sounds like a lot. I'd never say not to do what your doc says, but can't imagine how your tummy will let you follow those instructions. As much as I'm not a fan of my nutritionist, she recently told me that weight loss would move faster if I got closer to the 80 in the 60-80 gram Protein range, and I've found that to be accurate. I was getting in closer to 60. If the denser Proteins are still giving you a fit, softer stuff like Beans, veggie burgers, and flaky fish might help fill in those gaps. I don't know about you, but once something comes up there's no more eating for a while - vomiting sucks .
  4. My Fitbit Zip is coming tomorrow - woohoo!

I didn't realize that I got up in the night to pee until I got fit bit. I also tracked how many steps it took to walk to the alarm clock, hit snooze, and go back to bed.

That's funny! I'm glad these things didn't exist when I worked nights. I was up in my sleep all the time - even woke up outside, in the rain, in my jammies, cleaning out the car one day.

    Turkey!

Those both sound good! I love jalapenos. I'm still scared to try pita bread (chewy stuff makes me nervous) but I love it, so it's going on my list!
  6. I understand why and I'm okay with it (besides, I lost another 1/2 inch off my waist this week). Just grousing about it, though - I want to see the numbers move again! Also, for those of you who didn't tell anyone, maybe you were right. Everyone around me is so nice about things, but they all keep asking me how much I've lost now, and I really don't want to give them the same number I did a week ago!!
  7. Mini goal reached! Next goal in 7 pounds.

  8. How many hours do you leave between things that can't absorb in one go (say, between each dose of calcium)? How about between things that don't absorb well together (like a multi with Iron and the next dose of calcium)? I get all my Vitamins in every day, but sometimes I lose track of time and find myself taking them probably too close together. I'm just not sure what "too close together" actually is, lol.
  9. I'm transitioning starting with dinner tonight, and I'm SO psyched to have a little lettuce with my chicken!

    Fruit and veggies?

Are you on soft foods? Not sure what might be on your plan, but at at 4 weeks I was allowed to have cooked fruits and vegetables (although raw mashed banana was okay). So far, green Beans, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach, tomato, and 1/2 servings of those little no-sugar added lunchbox sized grapefruit and mandarin orange slices have all gone down great for me. Broccoli has been really iffy, sometimes it stays down and sometimes it doesn't. It's exciting to move through the stages, isn't it? I'm allowed to start transitioning to regular textures today, and I'm counting down the minutes until I can leave work and get to that lettuce in my fridge!
  11. I want to try on some Old Navy jeans in the store, but I'm scared to go in there. The size 20's I just put on are used, maybe they're stretched out some? Eek!

    Lower Calorie Calcium option

They have a 500 mg chew that only comes in at 15 calories each (total of 45/day). Celebrate has some 500's that are 15 calories, too. I use both, and I track them in myfitnesspal, lol.

TV Shows - What are you watching ?

If we're talking about embarrassing stuff, I do try to catch Maury whenever I can. You are...NOT! The father!

    The things people eat!

They're all choices, and if seeing that motivates you to make better ones for yourself, great. I can honestly say I couldn't do it before, and I'm not perfect now. What the sleeve does for me, and all it does, is help me to not lose control to the point that I can't get myself together. I'm not as hungry and can't hold as much, and it helps me behave long past the stage where I would have given up if I were doing this without surgical intervention...but it doesn't stop me from wanting or even occasionally having a fist full of Reese's Pieces. Best of luck to you on your journey!
  15. I got nothing from the surgeon, but the nutritionist keeps harping on 40% excess weight lost, which would still put me over 230 pounds. The more I meet with her, the more I find her easy to ignore. My primary care doc said to go ahead and shoot for 150 though. She's super supportive, and I do find it motivating that she thinks I can accomplish that. I mentioned 130 as a personal goal and she said I probably could if I wanted to, but stay toned up and see where I'm happy on the way down. My end goal is just a vague, malleable idea in the back of my head, it seems so far away - I just set a whole bunch of tiny goals (none over 10 pounds at a time) and I'm working on one little thing at a time. Next goal is 1 pound away .

    Hospital bag.

I won't tell you what all I brought because it's embarrassing now, but what I *used* was: sweatpants for under my hospital gown, deodorant, baby wipes, chap stick, extra underwear, lotion, a soft front-close bra, baby shampoo to take a shower to go home, my charger, and my own socks to layer under theirs because I couldn't get my feet warm.
  17. For sure, Water and meds. I'm sorry you're sick, that sucks! Hope you're feeling better soon!
  18. And so it begins...the hair loss, that is. Hopefully since it started earlier than most people say, it'll end earlier?

  19. Someone just gave me a couple of Orgain's. I'm on the fence - they're not as sweet as Premier and I liked the taste of the first one, but the second one was a goopy lumpy mess and I'm scared to try it again!

TV Shows - What are you watching ?

My two favorites right now are Master Chef Jr (those kids cook things I can't even spell), and Chicago PD. I watch way too much TV, though! My comedy fixes are The Goldbergs and Brooklyn 99.

    pureed food! baby food?

@@Pac-woman, I found this stuff from a brand called Tolerant. It's Pasta made out of nothing but either black Beans or lentils, and it doesn't taste nearly as weird as it sounds, lol. When you get to the stage where you can have it, an ounce of that with some cheese might not be so bad. The 3 ounce serving listed is a little higher in calories than I'm comfortable with but 1 ounce was just perfect and has about 7 grams of Protein.
