  1. A forever stall and the culprit is Skinny Pop Popcorn and Pumpkin Seeds. Not over eating because I can't but definitely grazing like mad and not eating the protein that I should. I had a spark of inspiration and then it fizzled. Maybe I just need to get my mouth wired shut!

you don't need your mouth wired shut, you just need to be more self conscious on what your putting in your mouth and how often. I know it's hard honey, but you can do this!!! I still have a hard time with getting my protein in but I do my best, and I am down to my goal weight but I still have to make sure I eat right to make sure I don't go back to where I came from. I have days where I feel like I over eat, and luckily I step on the scale and I haven't moved, but still it could happen, and so I am very conscious about what goes in. Good luck girl, I know you can do this just take it one day at a time!!!

  2. Still can't eat fish! That makes me really sad :(

  3. I was in a panic this week because I tried on a blouse that I had been wearing and it was too small. FREAKED ME OUT! So I got on the scale with a lot of trepidation to find out that I am still at the same weight I've been at over the past 6 months - WHEW!!! Turns out, my husband did the was and shrunk my blouse :( but glad :) all at the same time!

  4. The only reason I haven't posted anything is because I have slipped. No, I haven't gained, but I sure haven't lost either. Just staying at where I am right now. One excuse I have is stress. It has been a stressful year and not letting up. I know that exercising would help me to get back on the losing end, but just having the energy to exercise is a problem. I think I need intervention, quite honestly.

Girl, I know stress can get us in a bad place, I have been under a lot of stress myself lately, but you have to push past that, and just do what you know is right for yourself, I have faith in you to get back on track, and motivated!!! have faith in yourself!!!

Thank you everyone for all of your kind words of support. My mind wants to exercise and do the 5-day pouch test to jumpstart my process all over again. Another thing that I found encouraging is watching those shows "600-lb Life" it is making me want to just get moving. I'm coming along and truly believe that I will get there really soon. Thanks again!

  5. Wow, I haven't posted anything since December 17! Well, I'm back and with a better attitude. I'm realizing that exercise is the only thing that will help me during these tough times, so I'm making plans to HIT THAT GYM! Yep, the gym to see if I can shock my long aggravating stall back into 'How you do'in' phase!!!

I am so glad that I feel better too, that was a rough month and a half, cause literally right after I started feeling better from the surgery I got sick, and it's just been awful, but now I am starting to feel normal all around and I need to get my motivation to get moving and get to a gym, and start working out, I only have 22-1/2 weeks till the wedding and I need to get these pounds that I want gone to be gone. Thankfully I only gained like 2 lbs during the holidays and with the surgery and everything and I have now already gotten that off, but now I just need to get to the below that point and get to my goal. We only have 2 months till our one year surgery anniversary!!! I know I am not going to loose 24 lbs in 2 months but I can try to get close!!!

    3. rome

      rome

I'm with you both! GET MY BUTT TO THE GYM!! I have about 5-9 pounds to first goal and want to go a bit further for a little comfort zone. I wish I LOVED working out...but I DON"T ha!! Glad I'm not the only one struggling with the exercise piece.

    4. Tlmarsh

      Tlmarsh

I am almost 2 years out from my surgery and I gained 5 lbs over the holidays without even realizing it! I didn't make my usual cookies, which I can't control, and I didn't make any sweet breads, another big temptation. I must have just let too many carbs in. I went thru a phase where food just didn't taste good at all and I was eating corn dogs, I know terrible choice. I wonder if that was enough to push me back? I was eating 2 every day for lunch. Then I started craving carbs like crazy over the last couple weeks. I got myself on my Pilates machine again yesterday and did a 20 minute aerobic dance workout and I do feel so good about that. And I have gone back to eating protein drinks and soup for a couple days to shrink my stomach again. (Kind of like the 5 day pouch test) but I haven't been eating large quantities, just not staying full like I used to. I think it's just a phase and I will get myself back on track now. Especially with exercising again. I can't believe how ROTTEN I feel when I don't work out and how GOOD I feel when I do!!! And still it's so easy to sit on that couch and not move!! I work at home on a computer so if I don't work at it I could just not move much in a day at all.

  6. I have a 'crack' habit and it's called Skinny Pop Popcorn. My husband was buying bags of the stuff and I was throwing them back! So, I had to make him promise that he wouldn't bring me any until the weekends and I haven't really missed it that much. Getting back on my grind!!!!

  7. My FAB boss is advocating for me to only have her as a boss and to reinstate me on one campus which means that I could potentially become the Dean of Customized Training and Development! As you noticed, I used the words, 'working on' and 'could' so nothing's guaranteed, so I still keep my eyes open and up head up!

  8. My friends have heard that I have been dealing with stress in my eating life - Not Good - but hopefully this will be coming to an end soon. My job downsized and merged leaving me to work with a micro-manager 50% of the time and the other 50% working with a FABU boss so leaving was the only option. HOWEVER, I am now the only one standing and things are looking up which means down in pounds baby!!!

    1. ProudGrammy

      ProudGrammy

"only one standing and things are looking up which means down in pounds baby!!! " ? you are still working? leaving was the only option.??

i guess i'm slow!!! are things ok - you ARE still working?? - hope things move along at work for the better - you are doing terrific with weight loss - keep up the good job

    2. BladeFox

      BladeFox

No, I'm still working @proudgrammy through the merger. I am the last of the team that is still here and because of this, I may actually be offered a better opportunity where I report to only one person only and become permanent. "...only one standing and things are looking up which means down in pounds..." I also interviewed for another position that I hope to hear from by either tomorrow or Wednesday of next week, so it's looking up for me!

  9. I got in about 3 weekdays without cheating. I'm gonna build that up to 5 next week and the following week I will be DONE! I have got to get over this mental issue or horrible boss, whichever comes first I will take it!

Hey chicky been away for the past 2 weeks from the site, don't like the mobile app, so I just wanted to get back at you on this, glad you knew you needed that time off to figure things out. That's great. I hope things are back on track for you and your figured things out so you can move forward. I am very happy to have gotten the chance to get to know you a bit through this site, and hope you find something that will make you happy. How did the interview go?

    3. BladeFox

      BladeFox

Thanks Pup, more things continue t happen here and questions how long I should stick it out. The interview went very good but they went with another candidate, yet I still push for other opportunities when they arise. I am slowly getting back to my post op diet by cutting out one bad habit after another. I haven't gained any weight and actually lost a couple of pounds, but it's still not good enough. I'm hoping the new year will be for the better and I can CATCH A BREAK! Hope all is well with you Ms. Sexy :)

    4. pupichupi

      pupichupi

LMAO, Ms.Sexy? lol I am doing well, went to post op appt yesterday and they said that I won't feel better till probably mid January, so it's been tough, and although I am feeling better then I was a week and a half ago, I am still in some pain and sore? Well my dear, if this job thing is effecting your health in a bad way then maybe your right maybe it is time to move forward to something different to where it will be copacetic to you weight loss? You are a great person and you will catch that BREAK that you want so badly, I just know it. You kept telling me to just keep in there and the weight would come off when I was on that month stall and I did and I lost 5lbs in one week to throw me under the 200's so I know you can do the same!!! Keep doing what you know you have to do for you, and you will get there!!!

  10. Can someone thump me and make me stop cheating when I'm stressed!!! Dang, good for a few days then my micro-manager will do or say something that get's under my skin and I turn to food - Geez!!!! I'm looking for another job so soon...

Funny -- when I first read it I thought you said "stop cleaning"! Maybe you should take up intensive cleaning instead of eating! Try to find something healthy to replace cheating -- maybe take a short fast walk or do some planks or something or maybe just have some almonds or a healthy snack on hand and count it into your daily plan.

    3. BladeFox

Isn't it great getting down to the next size? I am in a 14 and on the verge of going down to the next size, but not quite there yet? I love going down in the size department but I don't like buying or finding all new cloths? I have a few pairs of jeans right now that I love but they are getting loose and I have to wear a belt with all of them? Even my skinny jeans?

    3. mbrinmn

      mbrinmn

Awesome. So great to hear about your success. I'm almost down to an 18. Can wear some 18s in certain pants. Hope you can make it to the next get together!! It's December 20 at 10:00 at the Perkins in Fridley.

  12. So, I have stopped the creep! Adding in skinny popcorn, taking a bite or two of candy here and there, snacking on my husbands blue chips because I can. It is time to get re-focused with this and since stopping...my creepy crawler has returned from my stomach. The 'monster that lives within' has resurfaced :)

I does sneak up on you... I have noticed a little more "picking" at something laying on the table, eating that french fry out of the bag on the way home with my son's food. It's definitely something to stay aware of and be on guard for.

    3. BladeFox

      BladeFox

It's great to know that I haven't ruined my 'sleeved' pouch with this stuff because it is picking up on signals of fullness again! Also, it is interesting to note that when you go back to those foods that got us this way in the first place, how you can actually eat more of it and never feel full. Something's definitely wrong with our food industry!

    4. pupichupi

      pupichupi

Not to mention how crappy those food make you feel after eating so good for months on months. I know when I eat the crappy foods after not eating them they make me feel sick!!! Then I feel bad too????

  13. Went to Lane Bryant and found some 'long' (6'0") skinny jeans. The size 16's were too tight around the waist line because of the blubber left behind, so I bought a size 18....WHY??? I am now wearing them today and the legs and butt area are so saggy/baggy. I know that I wear a size 16, but they don't zip around the blub - Hate it! Gonna take them back.

I'm a no spanx girl, too... my loose soft parts just have to hang out and be themselves. I have a friend who wears spanx every day and she looks like she's holding her breath and she looks SO uncomfortable! I'd rather when a guy puts his arm around my waist or his hands on my hips dancing that he feel something soft and real than to feel something that feels like plated armor

      Just saying...

  14. Slowly but surely getting colder by the day lately. Kinda' tough going to get to the gym, but I will fight my way through and resist wanting to climb into bed and get all snuggly ;)

      pupichupi

I have a local grocery store that has a salad bar and I go there a few times a week to get a salad, and I don't make it so big so most days it costs me like 3-4 bucks to get a salad that fills me for lunch. I don't know how much it is at whole foods but 3-4 bucks seems reasonable to me?

My trick: stick with the baby shrimp for protein instead of the chicken. A little bit of shrimp satisfies me more than an equal amount (in ounces) of chicken..

Man girl I don't know how you eat the chocolate, it makes me sick, all that sugar? I get the same feeling from that that I get from ice cream? I can't touch it!!! I just got a new pair of yoga pants that are full length yesterday to work out in so im excited about that. I am going to be wearing those since it's starting to get cold!!! Good luck mama, I know you can do this, get some sugar free gum and keep it at your desk, thats what I do, cause there are a few people here that bring in candy too, and I just chew the gum and that helps me!!!

    3. Ginger Snaps

      Ginger Snaps

Regarding candy in the office... used to be my biggest problem. Two people in offices right beside me keep the good stuff on their desks... Reese's, Kisses, the works. They were the only 2 people in the office I told about the surgery beforehand because when I was stressed, they would leave candy on my desk. So I asked them not to do that and to slap my hand if I reached for candy without thinking about it. I still look at those bowls longingly when I walk by but I will NOT go back to that again. I will not eat a piece of chocolate because I know it's a slippery slope for me and I would rather live without it at a normal weight than eat it and gain back.

You can't control her bringing it in, but you can control you eating it. I try to pat myself on the back every time I walk past and don't grab a piece. It still catches my eye but I just say 'no' and it does get easier. Sugar is my enemy and since I have almost completely cut it out of my diet (usually less than 20 grams a day) I really don't have any taste for it anymore. It really does happen!

      Stay strong girl!

Bought some new gym clothes off the rack at Target. I couldn't believe that I could wear them because it didn't come from the Plus Size section - so, WOW, I look cute in them! Also, picked up some new socks, so I feel workout complete :) Now, next stop, that candy pick up. I am telling myself daily that I don't need it. I mean, I fit into a 14/16 size top just this weekend. Talking about motivation! I'm beginning to feel it a bit more. Thanks again @Ginger Snaps and @pupichupi and everyone that I missed~XOXO

It went very good. They were pleased with my weight loss and reiterated the amount of weight I should expect with the sleeve. Apparently, I am only 8 pounds away from the expected goal!!!! What?!? I told her that I refused to listen to that because my goal is 180. Of course they want us in the healthy range and that happens to be 215 - - just not good enough for me, but still attractive. So, statistics say that with the sleeve I should expect 60% loss of my EXCESS weight, which for me is only 70 pounds. Ya'll know I didn't hear that! I am believing with my eyes closed and clicking my heels that I am going back to Kansas Ladies!! Kansas is 180. What! What!!!
