    Convincing My Husband

I feel your body is your body, however, if you need to hear it from him that he supports your decision, then this is a system that you have set up between the two of you. I would stress with him the difference of being overweight and unhealthy as opposed to being the correct weight and healthy and what that will mean for the both of you. Share with him the symptoms of yo-yo dieting and how that wrecks havoc on the heart. Still, I say that you should discuss what really matters in this weight loss battle and not so much about the surgery as an isolated matter. Take him to the information session and let him ask questions (if he will go) and get on You Tube to show him the many videos that are out there about the procedure. He may be afraid and don't know how to tell you. Good luck with this one!

    8 months Trouble eating....

I eat pretty good at 4 months and have been doing good since 2 months. I can't imagine ever not being able to eat especially 8 months out. I would go to your doctor's office to find out the root of the problem. Doesn't sound normal. Good Luck!
  4. Has anyone had problem (Gas) with the Babybel Cheese you eat? I have switched from the red package to the green and now the blue and the blue is making me boo-hoo~~ (smelly, tmi :))

The Smoothie and Protein Drink Debate

I see no problem in continuing the Protein shakes actually for life. Sometimes it comes in handy when you are running all day and just haven't done a good job at getting your protein in. I am 4 months out and my must haves at home are Jay Robb whey protein (chocolate), soy milk, cocoa powder, skinny girls stevia, cottage cheese, greek yogurt and babybel cheese in those rare cases when I know I didn't get my protein in for the day. Plus, instead of eating something before and after a workout, it sometimes feels good to drink a Protein shake. Cool and refreshing.

    Yummy treat DQ

I am so afraid to eat real sugar. I had some homemade potato salad and it had miracle whip in it and the next day, I felt like I was having an out of body experience - the whole day. It made me feel really weird. I thought it was something else that I ate, but then I put it in my salmon to make it moist and that same feeling happened the day after. Either I am all of a sudden intolerant of Miracle Whip or it's the sugar. I haven't had the courage to try either again. Sounds delicious though!!!

    Energy

Yes. You are losing rapid weight and your frame has to get used to it. Add in some walking and don't try and keep up with others on the forum, it will run you ragged. The walking will give you more energy believe it or not. Good Luck!
  9. Stick to your doctors orders the first 6 weeks post op - no veering! You will be happy you did.
  10. Things are going in the right direction now I need to work on building muscles because between age and lack thereof, the knees are still hurting. Working on gettin' up n' go'in!

Ok, first let me do some research about it on my own. It sounds amazing and I have been trying to find one that I can cook with without the grainy texture. I tried rice protein, flavorless/odorless and it was to grainy, yuck! What has it done for you?

  11. You are one of the luck ones, like I was. My doctor wanted me to lose 5 pounds if I could, but not picky. New rules say that it is the clinic's choice to put you on a pre-op or not.

    Losing Appetite 3 months out

I have had moments when I just can't eat and most times that's when I'll have a good weight loss for some reason. It's almost as if the sleeve can't take any more food. Otherwise, I would say if it is bothersome, check with your doctor.

    Slow Loser? Maybe not . . .

Good wake up call! I'm the same way. Had my surgery on 3/19, have lost 52 lbs and in a stall. Everyone else that I am friends with on this forum that had surgery the same day have outpaced me. I'm 6'0 and my weight loss show immediately - very lean do to distribution. I think that is the reason why it is slower. Plus, I'm perimenopausal too. Comparing is Madness! Great post!!!
  18. Question - Think it's time for another job? - Rhetorical. Not sure the new boss will work for me, got that internal feeling.

Hey you guys, I am on vacation next week and going through a lot of changes at work. Next month may be a better option for me.
  20. Interesting question. I have been stuck for about a month now. I am eating no more than 900 calories per day and the scale just doesn't move. I'm not "stall freaked" I'm just wondering if my age or peri menopause is preventing me from losing like I once did only 4 years ago and maybe I won't lose as much as I am expecting to lose now at an older age. My body is losing inches and I am now in size 18-20 or 1x's instead of size 24/26 - so yay! That scale just doesn't want to budge or give up those pounds.
  21. Love avacado's!!! I can't eat guacamole, but can eat just the fruit, however; must be eaten in moderation. It is a healthy fat, yet fattening.
  22. I was never a Soup person and still not a huge fan, but I do crave it when eating out. Nothing else, because I used to eat everything.
  23. Well, the office is moving today to our new location. I will split my time between one campus and another campus, so a lot of uncertainty and confusion. I am an internal stresser, which means that I will appear to have things under control, but inside, I'm bouncing off the walls. Herein lies the problem... My food of choice while going through this change is Skinny Pop Popcorn. I am a habit of eating when stressed. Help me get through this!

I know just what you mean about stress eating, my stress, sick, bored, mad, any emotion food was always ice cream and I can't touch it anymore, popcorn honey isn't so bad, get a small small bowl and say to yourself that you will only eat what fits in the bowl and eat only that!!! I know it's not easy but allow yourself that little bit and then when your done just tell yourself, that is all!!!

Yea, I had to make my husband get me the individual packs instead of the large bag just to not over eat it. It's helping, but still a high carb item.

    3. pupichupi

      pupichupi

yeah I know but it's not like your eating it everyday all day??? moderation!!! Thats why I suggested the little bowl thing!!! Thats what I do!!!

    Cheating during Post Op

If you are addicted to food and carbs, then you must seek counsel because you are falling down the path of destruction! I would seek help immediately!!! Not to sound scary, just saying that we are not perfect and sometimes we need a bit of hard reality that will not come from this forum.
