    Feeling discoraged july sleever

Keep working the plan and it will pay off. 27 pounds in one month is amazing! Give your body a break.
  2. I know three other people who have used my surgeon and we all agree, the administrative staff is a complete mess. Terribly unorganized and lack simple communication skills. But the surgeons are so highly rated with a complication rate of near zero, we all felt very comfortable moving forward. The competency of the surgeon was my number one concern. Dealing with the unorganzed staff was secondary to me.
  3. I think it is important to note that things like cake don't provide the same restriction as dense Protein. You can still eat a lot of cake, or at least way more than you'd think. In answer to your question about cravings, the surgery did nothing to reduce my craving for sweets. I fight that daily. Best of luck with your decision and your journey!

    300 calories if I'm lucky

I think you're ahead of the game. I was not getting 300 calories at 3 days out. I concur with the advise of getting your liquids and not worry about Protein yet. It will come in time. Good luck on your journey! It's all very exciting!

    Losing weight too fast? Help!

You're doing great! The first month is the big month of weight loss. You will likely see things slow down a bit each month thereafter. So enjoy the big loss!

    sleeve doesn't mind sugar- oy!

My sleeve can tolerate anything. Sadly. It's all about willpower now - some days I am more successful than others.

    Hair lost anybody out there?

Yep. Started in month 3 and slowed down in month 6. But didn't really stop until month 8 or 9.

Still on liquids 10 days out.

Every surgeon has a different food progression plan. I could have a scrambled egg at day 7, but I've seen people on liquids for weeks post-op. Not sure why there is no industry standard...?

    Goal weight vs happy weight

My surgeon did not give me a goal. The psychologist said if I get to 172, that would mean I lost the average amount of weight for a weight loss surgery patient. I guess the average is 65-70% of excess weight. 172 seems too high for me so I set my own goal weight.

    quest nutrition

I just got on the Quest bar bandwagon. Three boxes delivered today. I like the Cookies and cream and strawberry cheesecake the best, but others are good, too. I've just recently heard they have chips. Would love to know if some has tried them and what they think. I see a number of people posting that they won't try the Quest bars because of the carb content. Don't let that scare you off, as most bars net down to just a few active carbs.

    Really worried about weight.

A few pounds up and down is pretty normal. I would offer the same advice - track all food. It's the only way to be sure of your exact intake.
  12. How are you doing? You're almost there!

    Feeling guilty

Excellent news! You ARE worth it. Accept the blessing that you can afford and it go with gusto. :-)

    Slow weight loss

Comparison is the killer of Joy. Someone will always loser more and faster. Always.

    Slow weight loss

VSGAnn is asking the right questions. I lost 19 pounds in the first month. Nowhere close to 50. Around weeks 3-4, most people stall out for a week or so. All normal.
