It's been 7 months since I had my Vsg. Love I my sleeve!

Past week or so have been 167ish meaning 167.0 or 167.4 or 167.6 etc
HW ever 293

SW about 236-7 on 121213
Down about 70 since vsg hernia repair on 121213
Down 93 since highest last year (oct 2013)
Net loss of about 125 from 2009 woohooooo!

My current scale has lost its marbles so I can't wait until my new eatsmart scale arrives
A few days ago it gave me readings between 168-177 with a mode of about 172
Today it was consistently reading 170.0 so I will go with that

Hi! I thought today would be a good day to introduce myself. I'm Wendy, and as of this morning, I am down from 343 lbs to 199 lbs. (144 total lost). I can't begin to tell you how it felt to see that number and to realize that, for the first time since my pregnancy 16 years ago, I am under 200 lbs.
This surgery (gastric sleeve) has saved my life. Because of it, I am getting around easily again, I've regained my creativity (quilting up a storm), all of my major health problems have disappeared (including insomnia) and I am happier than I have been in years.
I put off surgery for 7 years after promising my dad on his death bed that I would do it. My only regret now is that I waited so long.
For those of you at higher weights considering surgery, I truly beg of you to take action steps. Don't just think about it, if you need therapy, get therapy. If you are told to pre-diet (you will be) start today! If you think you can't do it.. Yes you can! You will not regret it.
I'll give you one more reason to move on it right now. I am now 48 years old. 7 years ago, when my dad begged me to have surgery, I weighed 50 lbs less than my top weight. In those intervening years, and because I am aging, I developed a bigger apron, bigger fat deposits on my thighs than I'd had previously, saggier breasts, and looser skin off my arms. Had I had the surgery sooner, these would be issues I'd be dealing with now in a much more minor way. I don't regret it, mind you, and I am happy to live with sagging skin for the rest of my life if I don't have to carry that weight around with me. All I am saying is... Time is not your friend. The sooner, the better. I can't impress upon you enough how important it is to just get going!

"As a wls patient myself, I can tell you it's not an easy lifestyle- well, maybe not the way I chose to live. There are a lot of wls patients walking around fat bc they don't change. I measure/ weigh every piece of food that goes into my body. I eat a very restricted diet I workout everyday- sometimes up to 3 hours a day... Surgery is just a tool. Don't be too crushed. It's about becoming healthy to hopefully have a healthy family one day.

Ahhh "The Easy Way Out" syndrome.
Yeah, tell them they need to go on a 2 week liquid diet, followed up by removal of 80% of their stomach, recover from surgery, start working out, figuring out how to eat with 80% of their stomach all while addressing food addiction and emotional problems.
Yeah, it's the easy way out...
Or maybe respond with something like, "That moment when you realize you thought you had a real friend then realize they judge a decision you made to better and prolong your life...CRUSHED."

Excited about my progress in 5 months.

Hello everyone. I haven't posted for a while, so I wanted to check in with all of my fellow December pals. My surgery date was 12/18 so I'm three months out and doing great. HW 264 SW 247 CW 201. I'm so happy I made this decision, and I'm loving my new life even though dealing with emotions and why I was obese has been hard I would not change a thing. I'm so excited about my future active life that I'm beside myself, which is easy to do since I've lost over sixty pounds. :-) I'm so happy for all of you on your journey and wishing each of you the best. I know this site has been a God sent for me in the days leading up to my surgery and the weeks after. Thanks everybody

Losing slow but losing. Barium swallow test in a.m. bc I'm still having trouble swallowing n spasms: ( gr8j to u all!

183.2 yesterday and 184 this morning but it's all good!!! I'm slimming down so fast and I am getting flooded with compliments. Just came back from spin class and feeling good. HW ever 293 back in 2009 HW in 2013: 260 SW about 236 on 12.12.13 CW: 184 woohoo!!!! Size 12s are a bit loose and 14s falling off of me. Shopping next weekend (: Down 76 from highest in 2013; down 109 from highest ever and 52 since surgery! I'm 5'7" and my goal is to maintain the low 170s. 3 months post op. Congrats everyone, we have all come so far!
