    March Sleevers!

Just wanted to touch base with everyone. I had my revision on the 11th and the first couple of days were ROUGH. I stayed an extra day in the hospital due to nausea. I figured out I was nauseous due to pain meds, so I'm just taking Tylenol and doing fine. Once my drain was removed most of the pain/discomfort was gone. I know everyone says that each day gets a little better and it's actually true. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

    March 19th :)

I did the same thing in December. It has to be right for you. It's ok if it's not. Good luck to you!

    March Sleevers!

I'm having my conversion on the 11th. I'm definitely starting to get nervous.

Yes, the most encouraging, positive thoughts to all of you tomorrow. Lots of love!!
  6. My surgeon says he uses a 40 French.
  7. If you have difficulty exhaling ask for an EPR ( exhalation pressure relief) or CFlex to be set. That can make a big difference. Nasal pillows can help big time with the claustrophobic feelings. There are also nasal masks as small as pillows if you don't like the pillows inside your nostrils.
  8. During my consultation I brought up strictures as one my concerns. He said the larger bougie sizes have less of a chance of developing a stricture.

It's totally normal. I was supposed to have it done in December and backed out. I'm scheduled now for March. I have wrote out a list of all the reasons why I'm doing this. When I panic and get anxiety over this, I read it. It calms me and reassures me I'm making the right decision for myself. I think it would be abnormal not to have fears.
  10. I'm on 3-11! I was going to have it done back in December, but I wasn't ready. I've had a lot of time now to carefully think and prepare. Welcome and good luck to all of us!

    3 weeks away!

I'm March 11th too! Hooray for us!!
  12. I've been a sleep tech for the past 10 years and I'll tell you everyone is different. It depends on whether you're a mouth breather or a nose. The full face masks ( for mouth breathers) have gotten sooo much better. My favorite go to full face is the Resmed Quattro FX. If you are a nose breather and don't like pillows up your nose, then Resmed has a new Swift FX Nano that is great. But make sure you "try before you buy" because you don't want to get stuck with a mask you don't like. If you hate your mask, you're gonna hate CPAP.
